Playing Card Plethora / Re: Clipped Wings Playing Card Deck (KS)

I saw on the backerkit it asked if we were members of the site.  Special treats for discourse members? lol
Saw this too, one can hope :)
I'd be interested to know what percentage of the backers were actually from either forum compared to those who were not.

I also noticed this. I think it's more likely that Emmanuel is curious to see where his fan base is predominantly based. I hope we might get extra early dibs on insider info of his next project.... :)

Oh man, and they're less than I remembered them being! Ugh. I'm pretty sure my wife will have my bits if I tell her I'm redecorating the office with new prints. That doesn't mean I'm not gonna try.

No mention of USPC (likely due to copyright issues) and a $1000 goal??  :-\

I would dig this but I'm unsure if this'll hold water.

Commenting to stay informed. I very much like the new 2.0 direction even more. Agreed on the flag banners for the indices with the round stoppers. Keep it up, I love how this is going.

Oh I know, I think it happened while JR was relaunching the kings wild website and had it down for a while before he did that short sale on Fed decks a while back.

He either mentioned there or somewhere else that a lot his links got broke as a result of taking the side down and redesigning it. I've never had the chance to even see what he was referring to with them. I'm just basically day dreaming. You don't know how long I hemmed and hawed about adding on when I completed my Backerkit for the Independence.

I swear, Jackson could start churning out crap (I know he won't though) and I'd be the last to catch on. He basically can do no wrong with his decks in my eyes. Something about his aesthetic just nails my personal taste to the last letter.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: 2013 Crowdfunding All-Star Card Deck (KS)
« on: April 11, 2014, 11:18:04 AM »
Wow. Next they'll release a second tier unlock where if more than $22 gets raised, they'll create an All Star Stinker deck with 52 of the worst funded projects to ever fail. Double Jokers have a picture of their own decks on it. It'd be a deck-ception. What crap.

Hey, an actual scat deck would probably do better. Could prove useful for camping and outdoors people, find out if that dropping is from a moose or a bear! Somebody go try and make a quick buck off the suckers with that one!

Is it possible that this might be where Jackson is planning on debuting his "Kings Wild Signature" standard, his custom courts, etc that he was thinking of using in upcoming decks where he wanted to go with a more traditional look like when he was talking about developing a custom take on classic Rider Backs before Jarden got in the way?

I'm definitely interested. Always wanted some T-Ho's but never gotten around to it. Would definitely be in on some with a little Jackson flavor thrown in!

I would like to echo Cthulhu's sentiments. I could wax fantasy all day on colors, special editions but if you do what you want first, we'll all respect your product for it's authenticity. I'm looking forward to more info on it, please post here when the KS goes live.

You should mention to her that her illustration of the numbered hearts is missing a 6H with a second 5H in it's place just so she has a chance to right it on the campaign page.

I like them though, but yes, $25/deck does seem high. I wonder if she could get that price down lower if she had someone like Kings Wild Fulfillment helping her on the logistics? I can't remember if the shipping was included on that but that might be one area where she could save some costs. I can't blame someone from wanting to make some money in the process but that price point is likely to put a damper on funding.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Club 808 members: your experience

I'm definitely glad I've gotten an idea from those both interested and experienced in the 808 club. I've got it on my wish list in case someone in my family wants to gift it to me. Not that I need a lot of excuse to buy more cards regardless of availability but what can I say? I'm addicted!

11
Ah, gotcha. Ok, I see, that makes perfect sense. Man, I'm getting excited to see this deck completed!

12
Man, this is looking good. So this may be a silly question since you said it's still in progress. Are those 'shadows' I'd guess you call them, the little points coming out from under the background/underlay sections, on the top section of the card in progress and going to be on the bottom as well or are you looking to make some one-way effect to the backs?

13
Heh, methinks ol CBJ did just that and just got 3 extra tickets in the raffle from each of us... heh, not that I'm hating, I'm glad to enter.

Holy mercy. Haha! Yeah,  I should have known of all people, you'd have a nice composite like that. But I can only imagine you having to de-catalog and then re-catalog each of those...  ???

Say, you wouldn't happen to have a higher res copy of that? I'd love to make a desktop wallpaper out of it.

Thank you all for the great info! I'm definitely interested in becoming a member. I'm finding myself a fan of Bicycle among USPC's other brands as a whole and could see wanting those collectible decks. Even if the Play More Cards kits are not a guaranteed thing. Just double checked aftermarket prices again and the $18.85 would easily be paid for in savings after just 1-2 decks.

Oh wow. Yeah, I'm definitely feeling like that may be on my wish list for my birthday coming up. Thanks for the info! I'm going to look up some of those others now, I didn't realize Jules Vernes were out yet and those prices are pretty darn decent.

I'm just curious about Bicycle's Club 808. So I thought I'd ask those who are members: Is the membership well worth it?

I'm not insane crazy about the current starter deck. I don't hate it, but it's not like I gotta have it either so I'm wondering what perks beyond having that starter are actually out there.

Are there a ton of other decks only members are able to buy? Are they notably more expensive than what you could find on Amazon? I have the Griffin deck bookmarked on my Amazon account but the secondary has that one at $15+ already and I'm mostly just interested in it due to it's possibly collectible nature. I'm just curious how the 808 decks start out price wise.

For those who are members, do you say it's worth it, would you renew and how much do you end up getting/ordering as a result of your membership?

I also like 3 best. I like 1 but it reminds me of Nautic, which I do like but just seems redundant.

However, I have a question, where is the voting actually taking place? I'm not a member of Club 808 so I don't know if there's some website that's obvious to members and maybe that's why.

Not really a web deal (that I'm aware of at least) but Walgreens has most of their Bicycle decks in store priced at buy one, get one free through 3/29/14. Not sure of this is the place for news of that sort but it's a decent way to get some decks on the cheap. I picked up 2 decks of Dragon Back for $2 a piece. If this needs to go somewhere else, I appologize and, mods, please feel free to move if needed.

Good shopping! :)

Subbed. I'm going to have to get a second job with all these amazing KS's looking to be about to start up...

Emmanuel, please keep us faithful followers up to speed on your campaigns here!  :)

Ok, I'm a newbie on here and definitely have no experience with design or anything. I'm just here to subscribe and say: I want these cards!

I was thinking of doing a very basic deck design as a Christmas gift this year for my friends. Basic as in, use Bicycle's Zazzle connection to customize the backs only. After seeing your work, hah! I'm suddenly very overwhelmed and humbled. Haha!

Definitely looks cool. I'm also a forum noob so I have no input on the posting placement. I just want to follow the progress.

I'll be honest, I'm starting to have doubts after hearing so much about the costs and decks raising so much more than this campaign is even hoping for and failing. I suppose I'll hold off on looking into cancelling just yet and just see if this thing takes off. It looks to have stalled unfortunately. We'll see I suppose.
