This was posted in an update.  No info on how she is getting them printed.  The art style isn't bad but it is for sure not to be a functional playing card set.

Oh Caroline Jones. Dear, sweet, Caroline. It's ok to perhaps not have every aspect of your project done before you launch it, but having 0% done does put you in a bit of a hole. Typos and a general sense of "whatever!?" doesn't instill much confidence. Let's put in some effort folks!

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

It's got great art, but this project needs WORK, big-time.  The courts shown thus far don't really evoke steampunk - they could just as easily be girls from a Parisian "can-can" show or a Mississippi steamboat of the late 19th century.  Looking on her website, I get the feeling that she's borrowing from two previous deck designs created on Kickstarter - the faces are evocative of the Steampunk Deck by Reagan MeClennan while the back looks like a simplified version of the Bicycle Actuators deck by Lance Miller.  I won't even go into the assorted design flaws for a functional pack of playing cards.

Could make for a nice pack of art pictures.  NOT a deck anyone can conveniently play with or use in performance, except perhaps by a cardist with a penchant for offbeat artwork not usually found in cards.  Since those tend to be few and far between, the project as is will only appeal to low-budget patrons of the arts.

The things I could do with this work, though.  She's a very talented artist.  If she hired me as a consultant, I'd be able to whip this project into something fantastic.

Don. I have chatted with her a couple of times on KS and told her about our community and the help she could get. She replied that she is interested in the help and will probably join the forums soon
