Introduce Yourself / Re: Please allow me to reintroduce myself…

Hey Don

Something told me to stop by and see what was new. Its been awhile. Just so happened to check your posts and saw this one posted today. What are the odds. Congratulations to you and your future wife.

All my best!

It's not a bad deck but it's not my cup of tea. I understand there's a market for this type of deck but it blows my mind that most modern minimalist decks fail miserably while this one is almost over $55K  :o

For as much time as it took to get this deck ready, its very inconsistent. The back design and court cards are some of the best Ive seen. The aces and name (branding) are not good at all. This would of made an excellent "madison presents" deck, with some DM minimalist changes to it.

Hey Playing Card Forum!

Just wanted to pop in and let you all know that Jon Noir has merged with 52Kards, and we will be launching this deck through Kickstarter on February 1st! The deck has been rebranded and is now called the Black Mint deck. You can find more info and join the waitlist here - http://52kards.com/mint

I'd be happy to answer any questions about the project.

I forgot about these. I remember having these on my list of decks I wanted to purchase.

What's with the re-branding name "MINT"?

It's not a good name.

I'm glad you don't answer questions. It made the decision easier. :))

Nice to know Kickstarter playing card projects still have 50K potential.

Earth/Faith, tattoo or marker?

Elephants in Denmark.  No soap, radio!

LOL No Elephants or Hippos. Earth/Faith on DB's wrist. Is that a tattoo OR written in sharpie (marker) ink?

I passed on these.

I like the idea behind black lions. However, the white lions tuck design was more sophisticated. I just dont think its Stutzman's best work. I would rather buy more black white lions.

Dont be fooled. Nothing happens at Ellusionist without Brad Christian pulling the strings. This video is not Ellusionist. Daniel is an employee of Ellusionist who has his own personal projects. Does Daniels qustionable social media content negatively impact Ellusionist, yes it does.

Brad does not need to be in front of the camera. Thats Brads business decision. He wants to connect with younger magicians looking to get better. Peter, Daniel and Adam do that.

There was a time when I did not know who Jonathan Bayme was until we started seeing more of him in front of the camera.

I was probably not clear, but yes, I agree on that.  I don't know if I'd call Madison an "employee," but he's certainly "talent under contract" in one way or another.

Sorry Don. I should have quoted the post to whom I was replying. Sounds like you and I are on the same page.

I thought he was going to light all those bricks on fire. That would have been entertaining.

This guy needs a life coach OR a real friend to stop him from turning his brand to $h!t.

Black Tycoon Deck - Theory11 Elite Exclusive Pre-sale

I managed to pick up a few.

OK, you asked for it...

Everything you see wrapped in green cellophane, plus the small brown boxes on top, constitutes about 95% of my playing card collection plus the decks I was donated for giving away at the hospital.  The small wrapped drawers hold 45 decks each and are completely filled.  The large white boxes hold 125 decks each and all but one are filled to capacity, that last one being over 80% full.  The small white bundle on top of the drawers in the foreground is four bricks wrapped together.  The small brown boxes are 36 decks each and there's six of them.  I'm not sure how many decks the big drawers can hold - it's more than double the capacity of the small ones, but there's lots of other stuff in there like magic props and empty boxes.  I can say that one of them is filled nearly to capacity with nothing but trick decks - there's over fifty stripper decks alone.

In total, you're looking at well over two thousand decks in that pile.

The other boxes not wrapped in green are mostly books, DVDs, Blu-ray discs and PS3 games.  Included amongst them would be pretty close to every magic DVD and instruction book I own.

Combine this with what I have in storage (a 5x10' space) and the stuff I haven't yet packed and you can fit pretty close to all of my possessions into a box that's 10 feet cubed (in metrics, about 3.05 meters on each edge), the major exclusion being my car: a 2015 Honda Civic.

I think it's time you did a YouTube video of your collection. You did such a nice job on the Uusi gilded video, I would really look forward to seeing a collection video.

Haha 😂 Well, I stopped before Hustlers. So it's not that difficult. It's either Players, Rounders or Dealers.

Madison's brand was golden before Hustlers.

I drew the line at Expectorators.  Or was it Masticators?  No, wait - it was Madison's Osculators!

...and when Madison's Micturaters come out, I quit magic and become a monk...

"Boycotters" (Don Boyer) Deck sounds interesting.

CP,

The Black V2 Dealers are relatively easy to get hold of on eBay these days -- and even the price isn't as high as it is for other Madison limited edition decks.

The Orange Hustlers are probably the easiest and cheapest of all Madison Limited Editions, and after that is probably the red V1 Dealers and the Black V2 Dealers.

These days I'd say that the toughest (released decks) to find are the V1 red Rounders (not the recent private reserve rounders), and the blue rounders. When they are found, the price tag is pretty high!

Yea. I figured the original limited Rounders (scarlet & blue) would fetch more. Isn't that usually the way!? I checked on eBay. Sometimes rareness does not equal price. I was basing my question on availability. Yes, I see the v2 Dealers are easier to obtain also.

I wonder how so many more have the v2 Dealers then the limited rounders? Was there another Elusionist promotion I'm not recalling? Could so many have taken advantage of the $150 promotion?

I wonder how the hell you can keep track of all the different but too-similar names of all the Madison decks without some kind of scorecard...

Hey folks

I was going through my collection and wanted to know, are the Black v2 Dealers the rarest of Madison Decks? If I remember the promotion correctly when I first recieved the Black v2, I had to spend $150 through Ellusionist to get one. I have not seen a promotion since making this deck available. Your thoughts and opinions?

I received my order of "The One Entertainment" decks around the middle of last week, and I've been shuffling away with them ever since.

Very, very, very nice deck. The embossing on the‎ tuck is pretty cool (from the photos I didn't realise that there was any embossing), and the tuck paper is nice also.

The cards themselves feel a lot closer to the Diamond/Master Finish than the Serpentines did -- very slightly stiffer than the Serpentines, and quite slick.  ‎

There was something of a surge in recent months for designers choosing the Emerald Finish, and I think they'll be pleased with the feel and durability of the cards. I don't think I'll be needing to stock up on Pr1me decks anymore.‎

I'm looking forward to the release of decks featuring the "iron stock", because I really do like stiff cards (one of the reasons why I like Lee Asher's 605 deck). If the "iron stock" really is stiffer and more durable than the Master/Diamond Finish, then I really will be impressed! Although the Bee Casino stock may be the stiffest paper that USPCC offer, it's far from what I'd consider to be particularly firm -- although it is thick, it's kind of "spongey", and so it's nowhere near as stiff as Master/Diamond Finish.

Well, when EPCC do finally release their first deck to feature the new stiff stock, ‎I really hope they go all out to create an awesome design for it so that the cardstock has a memorable debut! :D

Nice review from a credible source.

I was looking forward to hearing about the made in China quality. I know quality can vary with all imported products. I've had both good and bad experiences with products made in China. Thanks

I would have named the deck "tequila" and pushed the design in that direction.
