Ebay listing is here.

This is the "Boss Deck" from the Draw Like A Boss Kickstarter project.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ashdrawsthings/draw-like-a-boss

Here's the Discourse thread:
http://aethercards.com/discourse/playing-card-plethora/%28sort-of-ks%29-boss-deck-of-playing-cards/?all

The deck that's for sale is brand new, unopened, sealed in the plastic wrap.  I took these pictures from the other deck that I got, which I did open.  (The opened deck is *not* for sale--we love it too much to sell it.)  For those of you who didn't follow the original project, this deck is USPCC, Bicycle branded.

Hope these pictures help!  You'll see one of the fun things that I really liked:  There was quite a bit of discussion among the backers about whether they would go with the Ninja for the Jack of Clubs, or the Pirate.  They decided to go with both!  Plus the decks has three Jokers.  The pictures on the eBay site also include the Aces if you need to see those as well (I used my limit here :-).

Playing Card Plethora / Skull, Roses and Wings on KS
« on: July 19, 2013, 02:31:31 PM »
The title of this deck is "Skull, Roses and Wings - New deck of Playing cards"
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1707530918/skull-roses-and-wings-new-deck-of-playing-cards

I put the title in quotes because I can't see any roses in this deck anywhere.  There are skulls, wings, knives and ojets d'casino on the back.  The courts are silhouettes straight from Mad Men.  The two themes don't seem to go together in any way that I can figure out.  (But I'm new here--what do I know? :-)  Anyway ...

$8 early bird, $6 international shipping
$11 regular, $6 international shipping
$5,000 goal
Of course everything is one-way.

The printer has been selected and it is definitely *not* USPCC ... the printer is in India.
About the quality, here's what he says: "I have already checked with the company and had their sample compared with the Bicycle Stock playing cards, rest assured the cards are of same quality if not better then USPCC."
Plus one fairly odd comment at the very end: "Once the Production run is completed I will myself go to India and ship all the decks fron there."

These are the fronts:

This is the back design:

Playing Card Plethora / BADASS: Spades & Grenades on KS

BADASS: Spades & Grenades - Playing Cards with Balls
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2146143533/badass-spades-and-grenades-playing-cards-with-ball/
$10 early bird, $9 international shipping
$12 middle bird, $9 international shipping
$14 regular, $9 international shipping
"extra decks" are $12 each, $6 international shipping

$10,000 goal
USPCC printed
The suits are non-standard. Spades, Grenades, Stars, and Skulls ... I *think* they're sort of pretend equivalents to Spades, Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs (in that order).
All the cards are one-way ... front and back.
The project is run by the same people who came up with badassoftheweek.com and the Badass con carne cartoon.

Playing Card Plethora / Royal deck on KS
« on: July 16, 2013, 08:33:26 PM »
Royal Deck of Playing Cards
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/haynes/royal-deck-of-playing-cards/
(Not to be confused with Royal Optik, Royal Pugs or Royal Wilderness ... these are just Royal)
$9 early bird, $10 international shipping
$11 regular, $10 international shipping
No other pledge levels at all.
Goal is $5,000
Nothing at all about who the printer would be at that price, or what the finish would be, well ... basically, no details at all.
The back is definitely one way. The courts, strangely, when you look at 'em really closely--it looks like both halves were drawn, instead of photoshop copied-and-flipped, and they look accidentally one-way as well.

Playing Card Plethora / Wealth Playing Cards Bicycle (KS)
« on: May 22, 2013, 07:55:21 AM »
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1894163124/wealth-playing-cards-bicycle?ref=search

Goal is $15,000
Early birds are $8 ... but there are only 8 early birds.
Regular price is $10
International shipping is $10

Note that the project creator is listed as ParteePartee from Los Angeles, but the project location is Starkville, MS.  The creator shows as having created three projects, but one is an earlier version of this same project, which apparently was pulled down almost as soon as it was created (on May 12).  (The other was a t-shirt project that didn't succeed.)

Oh, and if you judge a project by its grammar and typos, you will definitely want to go to the actual project page on this one.

Playing Card Plethora / Young Artists deck (KS)
« on: May 20, 2013, 09:18:53 PM »
"Young Artists Custom Playing Cards (K-12 & college students)"
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/179351571/young-artists-custom-playing-cards-k-12-and-colleg

$5,000 goal
$10 per deck
$10 International shipping
No word on who will do the printing (and no mention of USPCC).

This is not an already-designed deck.  Instead, it's a project.  The vision is that students will submit entries for specific cards and a "panel of judges" will select the "best" entries for each card, assemble them all and viola! ... a deck!  You do not have to be a backer to submit artwork.  There are a bunch of rules as to what grades of students are supposed to produce what cards, etc., etc.

Yet another SteamPunk, this time by Dragon R&D.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/151201320/steampunk-playing-cards-visions-of-class-strife?ref=search

USPCC
funding goal is $7,250
early bird is $8, shipping for International is $3
regular price is $13, but there are incremental "early" birds at $9, $10, $11 and $12.

This project has more add-ons and stretch goals than I can follow.  Buttons, uncuts, tins, prints and ... tea bags.  Yes, custom tea bags that line up with the individual court cards.

The project even has a level for a gross of decks.  $1,000.

EVERYTHING is one-way.  The backs are one-way, and the background on the fronts make them all one-way.

Playing Card Plethora / 54 To Blame Playing Cards (KS)
« on: March 26, 2013, 11:25:11 PM »
"This deck of 54 cards features the men and women who were central figures in the financial meltdown and crisis of 2007-2008."

Each deck is priced at a WHONKING $25 each.
No international shipping at all (but thanks for asking).
And it's pretty clear this is NOT USPCC ... the funding goal is just $2,965.
The project creator says he has chosen a "quality printing company."
He also says that the market for these cards "will be potentially large because card playing is a universal pastime."
Semi-interestingly, "the deck will include a who's who guide sheet with thumbnail profiles on each person."

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1724247925/54-to-blame-playing-cards/?ref=kicktraq

On an odd side note ... what algorithm causes THIS deck of playing cards to show up on a KickTraq search within minutes of being posted, but when you search on Kickstarter you have to scroll to page three to come up with this?

Playing Card Plethora / KS Pixel Lincoln
« on: March 15, 2013, 01:37:16 AM »
New on Kickstarter ... the "Pixel Lincoln" deck.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/springboard/pixel-lincoln-bicycle-playing-cards/?ref=kicktraq

This is associated with a recent Kickstarter board game that successfully funded (8x its funding goal) and has "almost shipped." (Late.) The project creator says "So, now that the work's almost over, we felt like having a little fun.  So, here's our fun -- The Pixel Lincoln Bicycle Playing Cards Deck."  Here's the link to the board game:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/springboard/pixel-lincoln-the-deckbuilding-game-0

USPCC, backs are two way, fronts are all one way, because every card is a custom picture from a character in the game.
Clearly this is a deck aimed at people who funded the board game project.
Funding goal $8,000
Early bird $10
Regular $12
A whonking $10 shipping for outside the US.
A bunch of rewards offer the deck and the board game together.
Estimated delivery is August (of this year).

Also new on KS in today's crush of a million playing card projects is something related to Classic Victorian from Desjgn.  But this one looks like it has a rocky road ahead of it.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1404114000/desjgn-playing-cards-100-plastic-playing-cards?ref=card

The price is attractive ... $15 for a set of 2 decks with alternating colored backs.
But the funding goal is a whopping $35,000.

Although I haven't seen Desjgn on Discourse, I do see he has a website: http://www.classicplayingcards.com/catalog.html
And Google points out that his cards have been discussed on chiptalk.net and the 2+2 poker forum (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/)

Here's the project description.  I found it confusing: "Since being in business for 6+ years, I have released 4 different back designs, with my most recent offering, Classic Victorian, selling out. Part of this project is to raise funds to produce more of the Classic Victorian line in not just the Dragon (Red) and Griffon (Blue) back colors, but with 6 additional back color offerings since many of my customers like having variety in back color options."

I think it means he already produced a deck called the Classic Victorian in red and blue. The KS project is to produce another run of these red-and-blue pair, but also 3 other color-pairs, for a total of 4 different sets.

Here's the reward description.  Now I'm more confused: "1 set of 2 decks (choose from 4 different sets of 2 decks; each having a different back color), and you will have the option of selecting from the back design line of Classic Damask with Blackjack Index or Classic Victorian with Jumbo Index. All decks will have standard pips."

Now it sounds like he's doing 8 different set-pairs.  He's going to produce the Classic Victorian back in 4 different color-pairs, and the Classic Damask (a different backing design) in 4 different color pairs.  Victorian is a jumbo index; Damask is a "blackjack" index.  If that's what's really going on, then I see why his funding goal is so high.  He's talking about doing 16 different decks.

These are all the photos from the KS page, although his web site shows some more details:

Playing Card Plethora / "Party Proof" Playing Cards (KS)
« on: February 21, 2013, 07:40:15 PM »
Wow.
OK, here we go.
"Liquid Proof, Crinkle Proof, 50x more durable than regular cards! Washable in soap and water!"
A whopping $20 per deck.
That's it. No other pictures, no early birds, no international, no manufacturer yet, and the rewards are straight multiples of the $20/deck price.

Playing Card Plethora / Mount Olympus ... new KS deck
« on: February 19, 2013, 09:12:10 PM »
USPCC, custom courts, no pix of the numbered cards, or even an A or Jokers.
Courts are characters from mythology.
The deck creator says it's his first KS deck.
Super wide margins. It looks like the intent is mirror (two way) but when you look carefully at the courts they actually aren't.  In fact the reverse image on the Q of hearts is accidentally shifted to the left.

Personally, I like the artwork, the concept, and the font.  But it seems a little sloppy right now.  I'm guessing that if it gets funded, USPCC would require the artwork to be cleaned up a lot.

Also seems a bit expensive at $12.  No early bird pricing.

Playing Card Plethora / Steampunk Cthulhu is out on KS
« on: February 16, 2013, 10:04:54 AM »
The Kickstarter is out on Steampunk Cthulhu. USPCC, mirrored back, custom tuck of course, custom courts ... in a line-drawing style.  The designer did a funded Steampunk Alphabet book on KS recently.  The line drawing style for the courts doesn't make sense (to me) or match his other work--maybe those are just the prelim sketches with artwork to be filled in later. On the other hand, he put those same line drawings on the tuck box as well. So maybe that's really the design.

The early bird was VERY cheap--$5 per deck (sold out, but a great model). At the $500 level, the backer is illustrated as a court card. Limit 4.  Obviously, the artwork isn't done :-)

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/370388468/steampunk-cthulhu-playing-cards?ref=search

UPDATE: The project creator has made quite a few changes since the project first started.  The bare bones linedrawing style has been replaced to be the same full-color design that he used in his Alphabet book, he's modded the tuck box a lot, and the backs are looking at a full redesign. Click on the project link (above) to see the latest.

Playing Card Plethora / New KS deck: New York Lights
« on: February 15, 2013, 09:42:14 PM »
New on Kickstarter: New York Lights.  Funding at just $1,000 with no explanation. No mention of the printing company, the stock, the finish, etc. Well ... they do say "Top quality paper" ... which isn't really reassuring.  In the Risks section, "The main challenge we may face is collaborating with all the vendors.."

Playing Card Plethora / Magic Con V2 courts in other decks?
« on: February 14, 2013, 02:32:44 PM »
Does anyone know if D&D have used the courts that are found in the Magic Con V2 deck in any other decks?
If not exactly, then similar?
