Hi all,

I've just recently started getting into cards (mainly for poker but I think I'm getting a bit of a bug for it!) and am really after a particular kind of style of cards. I've recently bought the rarebit copper deck https://store.theory11.com/products/rarebit-copper-edition-playing-cards and loved the metallic ink and wanted some more. Do you guys happen to know of any other decks with some form of gold/silver/copper foil on the front of the card (not just the back)? I did some research and found a few, namely the Venexiana deck https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/unitedcardistsdotcom/venexiana-gold-playing-cards (which was a very limited run it seems!)

Thanks for taking the time to read the post!

Aaron

Welcome to the forum, Aaron - glad to have you on board.

I think you might be getting your terms a little mixed up.  The Rarebit Copper deck has copper INK on the faces, not copper FOIL.  There's metallic foil on the tuck box, though.

There are many metallic-inked decks out there - in fact, Theory11 for a while was something of an innovator in the field, producing metallic-ink versions of many USPC standard decks under their Titanium line.  Check out any of the major playing card retailers and you'll almost certainly find a selection of designs with metallic inks - and of course, there's always the deck projects in the works over at Kickstarter.

Metallic foils on card backs or faces is a little less common.  The technology to create this kind of printing was recently refined and is experiencing a resurgence, but the decks made using this process tend to be considerably more expensive, even by the standards of playing card collectors, typically costing in the range of $25 and up per pack.
