Now I'm not gonna lie, I think these look pretty cool. I wouldn't buy it, but I think this would be a fun craft to make with my old decks.

haha they want 15 dollars for that?! You could make on of those in less than 5 minutes. I've had those with books before and that only takes a little longer because there are more pages. The size of a deck of cards is pretty small so putting much in there would be pointless.

But still, it'd be a nice place to hide a couple bills.

yeah, hide a couple of $10 notes in it and stick it between other decks in your collection, noone will know!!! but how do they make it pivot?

EDIT: make one out of a giant bike deck, then you could stash more in it!!

You don't. Those aren't hinged, they are just standing up right next to each other.

Actually, for card and coin magicians, it would make an interesting coin stash.

It looks very easy to make, and who around here doesn't have a "dead" deck or two lying around?  I have a black Arcane deck that I'm now starting to think of.

I also liked some of the how-to videos on the YouTubes about making a wallet out of old Bikes and some clear tape.  I imagine such a wallet would wear out quickly, but hey, they're cheap and easy to make.

Equipment needed...
Glue - strong but thinly applied
Cards - close to but not actually perfectly squared (wanna make them look realistic)
Tools - I have a really nice 18v Ryobi plunge-cut saw as well as a multipurpose Dremel rotary tool.

Arcanes would be good for this - they're thicker and more durable, and that thickness will also provide a deeper stash compartment.  Bike Masters would be good as well, and they're not so expensive.

Another idea - if your deck tuck box is beat to hell and the cards are worn, skip the box altogether and just rubber-band the two halves of the stash box together.  Nobody would even think that an exposed deck of cards would conceal anything, would they?  Let the outer cards and edges get beat up a little and a bit dirty, then most people wouldn't even want to touch them, never mind search through them.

Yet another idea - if you leave the top and bottom few cards unglued, you could spread them a bit to make the deck look totally legit to anyone observing.  Cuts down on the stash space but adds to the concealment factor.  It's like a book stash where the first chapter and last chapter are untouched, with flippable pages.

I have seen this before on eBay, pretty nifty to have in some cases. I was reluctant to spend the money on this since I could do it myself. Also, because if I was making my own, I feel I would put more effort into maximizing the space available and customized.
Good insight Sebacc! I like your ideas ;) This post may have just inspired me to create my own now and share it! lol
I haven't heard of the wallets made out of playing cards but yet it does not surprise me..Speaking of stash boxes and creating everyday objects out of playing cards, this is something I plan on doing one day also, and I would love to have to store my cards in!

There are some videos about how to make one yourself ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZiuEsmB8T4 ), but nothing I have seen to the extent of this. Yet, it isn't too hard to figure out how ;)

Hey, cool idea!  Glue together a dozen decks, cut them in half, hollow out the core and drop them in a brick box!  THAT would be a worthy stash box - it's actually large enough to hold a decent amount of stash.

I have no cough*weed*cough around my house.  I don't even drink anymore, not for over four years.  My life's interesting enough without chemical enhancements...

Still, that brick box idea is kind of appealing.  You could stash a magic gimmick in there, pack it with your bag of tricks, no one would know you had it.  It has serious potential.  It's a bit more labor intensive, since you'd have to glue the cards together in there boxes (I did that by accident once when making a gimmick, so I have that skill down)!  Then glue the boxes.  I think that the glued decks would need to be cut individually according to a template, especially the two boxes at either end.  And if you want to make it really not worth looking at, leave one unwrapped box in there that's legit, and work on the other eleven ones by removing the cellophane and rewrapping them when you're done, gluing the wrapper to the tuck box.  No one in their right mind would bother looking into a sealed deck of cards; at best they'd try to pick one out of the box, but that's it.

Nice little money making venture for that guy though O.o about $2 a deck to buy 5 minutes to make, $13 profit ($260 an hour)
Mystery is the basic appeal of magic. Once the secrets are known, the magician becomes a mere manipulator, an actor in a suspense drama which has little impact because the audience knows the ending in advance.
