For those of us in college, how does your college or university go about the order of registration (classes or halls)?

My university has been changing it every semester and it is beginning to get on our nerves and i want to find out how much better others universities compare.

And also what is your universities requirement for living on campus versus off campus?

Ours does it all online, suing the clunkiest software in existence.

what order do you guys do it in? Is it by last name or by class?

No, you just go and do it yourself.  No particular order.

Well lucky for you guys. We have to go alphabetically by class. So if you have a late in the alphabet last name you never will get the classes you want.

Occasionally classes will be under-subscribed and can't run but it'd be very, very rare for a class to be oversubscribed; everyone pretty much does what they want and sometimes everyone in the school (that'd be Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in my case) are in the same class.
