Hi there.

My names Robert. Like many, I want to run a special deck funded by a Kickstarter campaign (that's actually how I got here, through "The Grid" by 4PM Designs) and the first thing I have apologize for is that I do not have any candy, that was a damn lie.

The deck I want to put on Kickstarter is going to have original prints of art I am going to draw instead of the standard royals and numbers on the face of the cards. That means everything from the face, the numbers, and the suits will be hand drawn. I'm 50/50 whether or not I should hand draw the back.

Problem is - I am really lost and I'm not sure what to do once I make the rough draft of my 56 cards. So my initial questions are
  • What programs/websites are used to design cards, and are there tutorials/templates to help me out?
  • Once I make originals, what can I do so that they show up on the face of each card?
  • are there any websites or articles I can read to get me started?

Thank you to anybody that can give me helpful advice!

Hi Robert,

A few quick answers, though you can find more info by reading through this forum in more detail.

- You will want to get Photoshop and learn it. That is a tall order, but in rarity is the only way to accomplish your goal
- Once you create your art, you will probably need to scan it and then do the digital work to clean it up and make it mirror
- I'd download the trial of Photoshop and then start Googling for tutorials and walk throughs. It will take a long time to master, but you can get the basics with some dedication.

Or you can contact organisations that make the design for you. Like the 'submit a deck' from HOPC.

Having something done for you and doing it yourself is a big difference...

Since you are new and I know how confusing these forums may seem at times, I searched a bit for you. Here are some similar threads that might help you:

However, without a doubt, there are more, so good luck in your search.
