Hello,

I just got some attention to the golden nugget decks.
How many colors/variations of these decks out there?
And I'd like to know the market price too.
Are they as expensive as the Jerry's nugget?

FIY, these are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generations of GN.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-I76tChrcV8E/Tqlj6C6-q4I/AAAAAAAACOQ/5uHtHMgbBaI/s598/04.jpg
The first row is the 1st generation GN. Prices descend from left to right.

Currently a sealed blue GN is more expensive than JN. Look at this one (with torn cellophane):
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&item=290638957719&nma=true&rt=nc&si=qBb5U54ZQewxiPm4guA%252Bj3CLjIU%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc#ht_500wt_1127
If it is a tax stamp sealed blue GN, the price now should be higher than $400, even $500+ I guess.

COPIED AND PASTE THANK DIGIPUNK FOR THAT!

Here's another picture i got from someone on Facebook

Thank you DeckOfCards, but don't scare her, Black and Red GN are not that expensive, normally $75-$110.

You're certainly most welcomed Digipunk! HAHA I'm not scaring her. Digipunk do you know the malaysian seller on facebook by the name "playing cards", well he sells black and gold golden nugget playing card with the tin set for 500USD! That's insane price

It's 3rd generation GNs, normally $85-110 a deck on eBay. But 2 decks with the tin box, as phantom1412 always said, not everyone want to pay $200 once. The price of the tin set varies from $175 to $220.

OMG : 10 versions of them?
Impossible to collect all.
And yes, I asked the same shop as you asked, 500$ for a pair is really overpriced.
And I recently bought the SM v2 from them. Expensive but I don't think I can find it anywhere else.

And Thanks a lot to chenwei and digipunk :)

It would almost be easier to try getting all the variants of Bee Erdnase decks from CARC!

The more difficult it is, the more interesting it can be  :mindf-ck: :mindf-ck: :mindf-ck:
I strongly feel you need a GN to start off with when you get the Club Angels ;D ;D

I think I should get the Jerry before get these.
But I'm not ready to pay over 1000$ for them.
Considering I have paid more than 2000$ for decks of cards until now.

I've never seen a deck of Jerrys go for $1000. You can definitely get them cheaper than that.

She probably meant for the whole set.

On a side note, I've got a tax-stamp Black Golden Nugget if anyone's interested. It's opened, but complete with jokers. Mint condition. Pm me any offers.

Yes, I meant the whole set of the GN.
By the way, you should post this on the sale section. This way more people can see this.

It might take 1-2 years or more to collect all series of GN, you don't need to pay $1000 once  :t11: :t11:
Actually sealed blue and orange GN are very difficult to collect, they appear on eBay several years once. Jerry's Nugget is always there, even Lee Asher said GN is rarer than JN  :t11: :t11:

--EDIT--
I was misled by you. $1000 is impossible to collect all GN!!!

I'm not eager to sell it, just wanted to let some who are reading this thread and interested to know.
Thanks though, I will make a thread there if I really want to sell it.

Is THAT all?  :))  I have only been collecting for 15 months and I WISH I'd spend that little!  (LOL)  But I have to say, the decks I do collect make me very happy.

No one said you have to buy all the GN decks in one big blowout buying spree.  Get a deck here, a deck there, and with patience, perseverance and just enough cash, you can complete a set, I'm sure.  (It's that "cash" thing that gets people every time, though!)

If I calculate all I paid, I think it's around 3500$.
But I sold more than half of what I bought.
So, now around 2000$.

True. 2 years ago, a JN was about $175 and S&M was lower than $10.

I just wanna know about the handling of this deck compared to Jerry's.
And which one is older?

Age

All Jerry's Nugget decks are with USPC stamp-like seals, but 1st-generation Golden Nugget decks have tax stamp or stamp-like seals. Obviously GN appeared earlier than JN.

I believe you saw this video, about JN's hidden secret, you may know exactly in which year a JN deck was produced:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_htHzYWtAg

but very few people know we can do likewise to GN's tuck boxes:

It is safe for me to say, the 1st-generation GN were produced for a longer span of time than JN.

The 2nd and 3rd (AC) generation were produced in late '70s to mid '80s.

Handling

JN's handling must be unique and that's why it's JN. Even then you should understand JN is not everything, there were many outstanding cards produced in that "Golden Age" (quoted from Don) and their special handling could never be reproduced, such as Golden Nugget, Dunes, or even Carson City decks.

When Jason England described Dunes, "...The cards are similar to Golden Nuggets and Jerry's Nuggets in terms of quality. They are very stiff, but seem to hold up well..."

JN is the most famous one among these decks, and you know why -- the genius twins used JN in their videos. Again, very few people notice GN were also used in their "Nursery Rhymes" notes:

There are many valuable articles on Taiwan blogs that describe the special coatings and handling of JN, GN, and Tahoe:

Thanks a lot.
The Jerry is made in 1970, Friar club is in 1973 and Golden nuggets in 1974.
What about Dunes, and Carson City?

Do you have all name of decks in Golden Age?

You didn't read my post carefully. Golden Nuggets have tax stamp seals, they are older than JN.

No, I don't have all of those deck ??? ???
