What decks are you looking for if I wanted to get a set for the Genesis set. I could trade a couple of Black Crowns, or a LTD.

Ironically, I own nearly everything you have listed there...

But I'm interested in Shapeshifter.  And I have no idea what Genesis is - I'm unable to find it on the E website.

What do you want in trade for Shapeshifter?  I have a good deal of white Arrcos and Fulton's Clip Joints, other stuff as well.

Genesis, by Andrei Jikh, is flourishing only(Which is probably why you haven't heard of it). It's known as one of the best resources for beginners. I think it's only sold on T11, as a download, DVD, or both, and there's two volumes.

What do you want in trade for Shapeshifter?  I have a good deal of white Arrcos and Fulton's Clip Joints, other stuff as well.

Genesis by Andrei Jikh is an exceptional DVD for those beginners out there. He goes over everything from one-handed cuts to fans to even dribbles. I would recommend it to anybody and everybody looking into being a cardist. It's mainly sold in theory11 because, to me, Andrei reserves his loyalty to T11 only.

Now onto Shapeshifter. I'm especially surprised Good@Sabacc does not have that DVD. Do you at least know how the trick is done? I remember Shapeshifter was one of the first tricks that I actuually learned when I started out doing magic. That trick itself is an amazing, but still simple trick that I'm sure anyone can get the hang of. If you do still happen to want it, by all means go get. You'll have a lot of fun with it.

Also Cedric, please keep our deal open. Thanks!

I'd be interested in that if no one else snaps it up.  I want to try learning flourishes as a way to jazz up my magic presentations, and possibly for the art itself.

I've seen Shapeshifter many times - a number of E's other training videos use it but they DON'T teach the trick.  Instead they advertise where to learn the trick (this video, available for just a small extra charge)...  I understand it in principle but my attempted executions have been horrible to say the least and I was hoping for more insight from the video itself.  It's not even my favorite move by far - I'm not a huge fan of it - but spectators eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner and ask for more, so who am I to argue?  It's the same reason why many magicians still carrying around Rising Card decks even though the trick is as old and tired as the hills themselves; audiences love it.

I actually love to combine a Rising Card deck with a Hovercard - it lets you take the trick a step higher.  Now if I can get a Humming Card in the same card type and value/suit, I could make an entire routine out of a single tricked-out deck...

Hovercard is a highly underused and underrated trick; adults fall for it as easily as kids, and visually it makes jaws drop and eyes bulge.  Someone once caught me near the end of my Rising/Hovering bit and saw just the card floating off the deck in midair as she was walking by - it stopped her dead in her tracks.

Oh, that's probably why I haven't heard much about it. I'll definitely check it out now that you mentioned it. Also, about the Rising Card, how easy is it to pull off. You can't really hand out the deck afterwards though.

You can if you do a deck swap.  What I do instead is fan out some of the cards at the start of the trick.  Both gimmicks don't take up even half of the deck; the rest is ungimmicked playing cards.

A bit of advice to anyone buying the Hovercard from E - once you get the gimmick with the DVD, you don't need the DVD again.  It's a little hidden on the site, but they sell Hovercard gimmicks without the disc for I think $5 less.

So what you telling me is that the Hovercard gimmick is self-explained? Or does the gimmick come with written instructions?

It's not entirely self-explained, no.  The DVD does provide valuable insight as to how to perform it well.  But if you've bought it once, say as a Ghost deck card, you might want more, perhaps for a red or blue Rider Back, or a Shadow Masters.  If you already know how to do the trick, buying the DVD all over again for the additional gimmicks is a waste - ergo, you can buy the gimmick alone, no disc, for $5 less.
