Introduce Yourself / Re: Never been a newbie before, but here goes!!!

Welcome Michael to the forum from North Texas!

Although I have been a low level card collector for some twenty years I have been a gun owner and collector even longer than that. I can assure you I'm no stalker, but it didn't take much time to put Controlled Chaos and CCA together. The FB page brought it all home. Don is awesome and has probably forgotten more than I'll ever know but there are several other interesting decks that lend themselves to a military/patriotic theme. Some historic reprints and some new. If you spend much time at all around the collectors you'll come across Jackson Robinson (Kings Wild Project), who is a current deck design phenomenon, and also has a love for engraving. Check out some of his work and you won't be sorry, both in card design and AR engraving.

Respectfully,

-eh

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Bicycle Gentleman Playing Cards Deck (KS)

I was able to get one each of all four Regal gilded decks. They were without cellophane or tuck seals when I bought them directly from GW retail store so I couldn't resist opening. They are stunning to look at and have received mixed responses from WOW that’s cool to Damn those are gaudy. I was concerned if they would hold up to use and although I haven't shuffled them much I do find them comparable to any other gilded deck I’ve shuffled. I am happy to have them in my collection. I also have the four markers; one for each deck color.

The Gamblers Warehouse retail store located at 2001 E. Randol Mill Rd. Ste 109A Arlington, TX. 76011 US M-F 9AM - 6PM Saturday & Sunday 9AM - 3PM Phone: (817) 683-3971 is an absolute heaven for contemporary playing cards. Prices are reasonable and the service is first class. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of decks they have on the shelf.  Compared to the on-line world we've gotten used to it is so very nice to dig around thousands of decks, pile up your personal wish list, and walk out the door with them. For me it's somewhat local, but for those within a days drive it is, without a doubt, worth making the trip.

The colors and lines remind me of blueprints or schematics... just saying.

Joey,

Welcome to the forum. I too am somewhat new to this site, but not really to cards. I am somewhat local as I live up near Lewisville. Maybe we could get together and chew on some cards or talk some magic if you want. Look forward to hearing from you.

Don,

Sorry. It was just a continuation of a thought. Will be more conscious in the future.

Introduce Yourself / Re: Hello from Austin!
« on: August 24, 2015, 11:49:51 AM »
Mr. Burk,

Good as rain to have you here. Thought I'd jump right in on the country phrases. My name is Eddie and I too am from TX. I live in NTX, but do enjoy visits to Austin to keep my weirdness from atrophying! I'm really diggin' the card collecting game. As a magic enthusiast, I've been shuffling cards 20 years or so, but just found out some of my old decks were valuable. If you're interested in some trades I have an original, yes original, Jerry's Nugget deck in Blue sealed with cellophane intact that I would let go to bolster my collection.

Happy hunting,

-eh

Card Fool,

I am interested in two pairs also.

Thanks,

Don,

Thanks for the welcome. My membership to 52+J just started. You have every right to be proud of Card Culture. I've only perused a couple editions so far, but it looks very professional and polished. I am very excited to be included and can't wait to learn about the collecting side of things.

Thanks again,
-eh

Introduce Yourself / Re: How did you find PlayingCardForum?
« on: July 27, 2015, 03:43:09 PM »
I was introduced to PCF by Lee Asher. We've been friends since the mid 1990's in Vegas. We've torn up and thrown away more Jerry's Nuggets than most people will ever see. I'm not proud of that, but it's true. It's cool to see the boom in collecting and happy to be in at this time.

Along with being a card enthusiast, I also like me some good rock and roll. Can anyone (without searching) come up  the song and artist eluded to in the subject line?

My name is Eddie and I now reside in North Texas, but spent my formative card years in Vegas with no other than our own Lee Asher. Lee and I have been friends nearly twenty years and his enthusiasm and passion for cards in general have prompted me to join and grow my card collection. He is the reason I'm here and I'm happy to accepted.

I am 51, married and have two grown boys and one daughter in law. I ride a Harley Davidson ('03 FLTRI, for those in the know) as my primary mode of transportation and am loyal to my Oklahoma State Cowboys. True.

I am excited to start my new journey learning from you all,

eh
