I don't like the idea of promoting alcohol but I found, well my friends found (I don't quite remember) my best magic performances while under the influence. People just seem more shocked when a drunk person changes a card to their card. Of course you have to be extremely proficient at what you're doing by 200%. Being buzzed also eliminates the butterflies quite nicely. If you have really dry patter like I do then this is a good route. There's a local bar where all my co-workers go and that's where we hang out.

Otherwise on my normal daily life, if I were in a Starbucks or something, I would just make small talk with the cards away in my pocket and then whip it out whenever I feel it's appropriate. When I'm in my EMT uniform though, I just sit right next to the girl I want to talk to and they generally start the conversation with me. If there are no girls at Starbucks and I'm in my EMT uniform then I am a sad panda and will drink my mocha like a mortal without wizardy.  :(

Deck Reviews! / [VID][unbx] Mollaspace Cards black and red
« on: December 28, 2012, 07:01:07 PM »
Here is my video unboxing and deck preview of the mollaspace black deck and red deck.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdS3HumDhUM

A really cool find my friend told me about. The sheer coolness and impracticality of the black deck is awesome. The red deck of cards looks nice in fans but is one way.

They're bridge sized and feel similar to bridge sized gemaco cards. Box says made in Taiwan.

Magical Cardistry Bonanza / Re: Cardini change vs ego change?
« on: December 27, 2012, 10:40:04 PM »

The Coffin Change is different though. The Cardini and the Ego pull the top card off by pressing down with the pinky while the Coffin clips the card between the pinky (underneath) and the ring (above) and then pulls.

Ohhh... Yeah the Coffin Change is definitely different than both Cardini and Ego. I was taught the Coffin Change wrong for sure.

Now the real mystery... what's the difference between Ego and the Cardini change? If they're the same then I guess the mystery is why are there different names for it?

Magical Cardistry Bonanza / Cardini change vs ego change?

What's the difference between the cardini and the ego change? Just curious is all.

I was "passed down" the "Coffin Change" by my magic instructor about three years ago and when I started doing it on my vids everyone referred to it as a Cardini or ego change.

My teacher said the coffin change is a Hoffman's move but I honestly don't think so. He's been wrong a couple of times regarding sources but he knows his stuff... he once referred my le paul spread as the "Hoffman's hand to hand Spread"

They all look the same and end the same but I'm guessing the method is the main difference?

Deck Reviews! / [VID] Aurum and Artisan deck comparison
« on: December 27, 2012, 06:28:28 PM »
A comparison video of two gold themed decks released this year, the Aurum by Encarded and Artisan by Theory11.

Enjoy.

They're both good decks but I really do favor one over the other.

why what did savanna do ?

She does uninteresting unboxing videos  :mindf-ck:

On a more related note concerning the Aurum deck, I am making another "Card Clash" video making it versus the theory11's Artisans deck because they're both gold themed and they both start with the letter ''A''. My subscribers will watch anything I put up regardless  ;D It'll be up either November 26th or 27th, my next days off.

Card Clash is pretty much a comparison video of the 2 decks and in the end of the video I recommend which I prefer. I would reference my previous 2 "Clash" videos but they're terrible and embarrassing. This new video will be more logical in selecting the winner.

Mechanic Deck at HOPC also intrigued me. I like that they could be also used as a marked deck. A marked deck gives me tons of ideas :D

In all honesty, the mechanic deck makes for a terrible marked deck for magic or gaming. The marking system is too flawed to actually be used as a marked deck. Using the markings in small card routines, and I mean routines that uses about 3-8 cards may be possible.

Just as a heads up if that's the only thing drawing you to that deck. It handles and performs great, and shuffles are mind-boggling uber cool too.

For magic, I like to use and recommend red masters or just standard bicycle cards. The handling for the standards is quite good contrary to modern belief.

Like encarded said, keep the doped out stuff for your own practice time/use. They're expensive stuff.

But if you really want something slightly fancy and not too over the top for performing magic, I recommend Guardians, Archangels, and Silver Monarchs. Maybe either red or gold dragon backs by bicycle.

Deck Reviews! / [VID] Rebels and Sultan Republic Comparison

More or less a review of both decks in one video. In the end, I state which deck I prefer although quite honestly I'm not a fan of either decks  :mindf-ck:

Final opinion:
Sultan Republic performs better and fans slightly easier than Rebels out of the box.
Rebels feels better in the hands out of the box and broken-in compared to the Sultans.
They're both decent decks.

Words cannot express how I feel right now.   :(

Glad I have an extra but hard lesson learn, make sure your pants are empty before throwing them in the washer. Otherwise a part of you will die inside  :mindf-ck:

I'd rather lose my red artifice than my Aurum deck in all honesty

Oh no!! That is a sad sight indeed. Tell ya what, I'll get one in the mail tomorrow for you. Everyone needs more than one Aurum. :)

Thank you Encarded! You have no idea how mad I was when I popped open my washer only to see all my clothes with paper pulp all over and to top it off it was my Aurum that was pulped :'(

No idea whats up with your page.

Off topic but hey so I just ran into both your Jaqk deck reviews the other day. Mind blown by the crazy voice change in 1 year. You sounded 8 in the blue vid but in the red review your voice Yu-Gi-Oh'ed if you know what I mean  ???

I'm not sure that an external mic will work, because the refocusing noise isn't just in the video... I can hear it in real time when the video I recording. I think that an external mic will just pick up the refocusing sound too.

Then I would suggest looking for a microphone that is unidirectional, so it will be less likely to pick up the noise from the camera since the mic is facing you.

Another suggestion would be record the review like usual, and then on your video editor mute your video. Then with your mic re-voice the video. It's not like we can see your lips anyways. The only thing your losing is how the card sounds in springs and dribbles, no big deal

So here's a few pictures of the card's back in a fan, double fan, and a giant fan.

The backs look really cool and in my opinion I think the cards do have the potential to be pretty worthy in any collection. That's just my opinion, girly deck or not, the backs are clean and elegant.

The pledge money is really behind, a little word to your friends can help push the deck close to the goal though

I'm all for one on this box set. I never bought or owned any of the Smoke and Mirrors ever. When  the smoke and mirrors came out, I was only a senior in high school with no job or money  :P

Sure the V7 set is not exactly the same as the original versions but the backs of the cards are super cool, especially the black carbon fiber back. I'm definitely buying this.

In my opinion, I don't think this set will lower the value of the previous versions because the older version have superior simplified court cards and I think good face coloring. They did some funky coloring on this new set with colors matching the backs... nasty... I'm not opening the green and blue deck for sure. Definitely opening the red and black dot patterned decks and the black designer back deck because they look coolest in my opinion.

Wow... these look pretty awful.

Care to elaborate, Evan?

I personally love the back design. The corners and colors may make fans, giant fans, and spreads look very cool.

After an emotional break up I went to the strip club. I was pulled in the private lap dance room.

The stripper asked how much I had, I pulled out $100 in twenties, and then with a flick I changed them to ones and told her I only had 5 dollars. She was mind-fucked and got pissed off. It was hilarious.

According to the E facebook page, the Sultan Treasury decks will be available to all, tonight at 8pm Eastern time.

That's going to piss a lot of people off, and make a lot of people happy.

Aww. Pretty lame.  :(

To make this post not seem like spam, I'll just say these cards look nicer in fans than the regular sultans

46
Wow, ellusionist is really getting really ridiculous with their shipping. $13 is just crazy in my opinion. I miss the good o'l days with $4 shipping within the US  :(

47
I just got mine today. They are very nice  ;D

A somewhat important thing to note though is the silver ink on the backs  is the same style as the V2's and not the original.

Pretty cool deck I found at Fry's. Here is my review on them...

Box:
It's just a clear plastic hard case. Nothing special.

Extra cards
You have two "Stranger" cards that act as the jokers of the deck. One is red, the other black and they're both different. You have another card that says "play by your own rules.". And finally there is an ad card.

Design:
The deck is fully custom. all the faces, aces, and the courts The ace of spades is in the picture above. It has silver metallic ink. All cards that feature silver ink has metallic silver ink. The cards have red, shiny gilded edges that look awesome. I think the style of the faces fits well with the deck. It has a one way back.

[]

]Handling and feel
They feel waxy like a candle front and back. The finish is rough  which means fanning is terrible. The gilded edges don't help the fanning ability at all. They can le paul spread but a very different kind of pressure is needed. Pressure fans are impossible. Springs are chunky.  They don't giant fan.

At least they can faro pretty good. It ruins the gilding though. Le paul spreads ruin the gilding too. And of course, these cards are great for cuts because of the waxy feel.

CONCLUSION

These cards suck when it comes to handling. The cards were made in China so it is pretty much a given. They look cool but that's about it. For collectors and maybe the extreme cutting people.

Well I was never told outright I was using trick cards when performing with the arcanes but my audience did suggest I was.

I only perform with masters now because they don't break apart like standards. They also look the most ordinary. Nobody ever called out on the dope ace of spades.

By the way, I'm still looking for....you know what. Did you send it?

I did not yet. I'll try to get around to it.
