I stumbled across this photo the other day and wondered if anyone could help.

Does anyone know when the USPCC discontinued making the Bee no 35 back cards otherwise known as the worm back ? Looking at some other images of the same deck it appears the date code on the Ace of Spades is the A code meaning either 1980 or 2000 and was wondering if the typical stamp of today was in use in 1980.

Sorry what I meant was did the USPCC still print the banknotes in the late 80s early 90s. I know the 2011 reprint had a gold seal but these have the blue seal

Does anyone know when the USPCC stopped printing Aristocrat banknote cards ? I've seen decks with a blue USPCC seal and a red cellophane seal but didnt know if they were genuine

Does anyone happen to know the identity of this deck of cards ? It's a purple casino back but doesn't look like the typical Aristocrat or Bee back design

Jason England uses them on his Theory 11 Dead Cut download hence the poor quality photo. Any help would be appreciated

And a further check using one of Don's earlier posts says the deck was made in 2010 so probably around the time they were still ironing out some of the printing issues i'm just glad I picked this up for only 50 pence as the box was damaged.

Don is definately a helpful wealth of knowledge

Checking the deck again i'm quite sure it is a USPCC deck as all the characteristics are there. It has a black seal and the date code doesn't follow the original format which i believe has changed for recently made decks. The guarantee card has the Erlanger address on so guessing they did have a few boxes still floating around but those aside it's an awfully made deck not even worthy of being called seconds let alone a "casino quality" deck.

I've read a few posts from the forum before so I thought i'd take the plunge and join in

Whilst I wouldn't call myself a collector in the sense of vintage cards from the early days I have a vastly increasing collection and love collecting some of the USPCC brands that are now sadly defunct (Arrco, Steamboat, Broadway Seconds etc) along with many of the casino decks Wynn etc. If I could be Marty McFly and go back to the past I would and hoard large numbers of these decks as you now have to hunt high and low and pay that little bit more to get them. I gave up Magic for a while whil'st I became busy with college and work and regret that I missed out on some quality decks of cards which I now feel are lacking in the standard offerings sold these days.

Having said that I suppose there is no sense of gratification in locating things easily so perhaps it's a good thing :)

Kind of a strange format for a magic show but then that seems to be all the trend these days with having a judging panel and some element of competition and a cash prize. Having said that if it keeps magic in the media and current i'm all for it.

I did like the card trick that they pulled off with the signature ending up inside the layers of the card. Penn looked generally fooled (but then that's a different show :)

I've read this in a few places and wondered if there was any truth behind it

Did the USPCC change to only black seals on their decks after the move to Erlanger, Kentucky ? The reason for the question is that I have some Tally Ho Decks with black seals but Ohio addressed boxes and i've read before that if it was truly one of the old Ohio decks it would have a bright blue seal. Is there any truth to this ?

Hopefully someone knows the answer to this one as it's another of the new USPCC's quirks

I picked up a few Bee decks in a bricks and mortar store in the UK as they were clearing out a number of decks cheaply with a few dents to the boxes but nothing major. I picked them up on the basis that they would be Cincinnati made since that's what it said on the box but low and behold upon opening the deck the Jokers had Kentucky plastered on them and the "Bee Quality" was severely lacking misprinted quality check card (yes the quality check card was misprinted) and judging by the code I would say these are probably as recent as 2013. Also the deck had a strange varnished edge to it and they wouldn't faro for love or money both from the bottom up or down.

Does anyone know why this might be ? I thought of all their boxes had been changed to the Erlanger address so it seems the Bee cards maybe escaped a redesigned box for some reason. So I guess the question is how would you ever tell an Ohio made deck other than buying up some of the casino decks for the now defunct casinos such as Binions etc.

Out of interest did the USPCC stop their Bicycle seconds around the same time ? I've seen a few online sellers with Bike seconds and wondered if these were ever made in the Erlanger factory

I picked up a few of these decks reasonably cheaply and although packaged as seconds they handle superbly. The stock is casino grade and they faro like a dream

Does anybody know the history of these decks and when they were discontinued ? The decks I have are dated 2004

Does anyone know when the USPCC discontinued the Angel back squeezers ? I have a book where these are used in the photos that was produced in the late 80s though looking at the tax stamps I suspect these were made much earlier. Their also pictures of a bridge size Aristocrat banknote deck which I am guessing must have still been in production in the 80s also
