Playing Card Plethora / The Frontier Deck
« on: September 15, 2014, 04:43:47 PM »
Just curious to know if anyone has received their Frontier deck(s) yet?

I was able to answer my own question - I found their update.

The Conversation Parlor / I'm So Confused with All the Opportunities
« on: August 12, 2014, 07:12:46 PM »
Greetings - As some of you may have noticed I am a newbie to the wonderful world of Playing Card collecting. As such I feel a bit like the one legged man in a jackass kicking contest - would someone please enlighten me as to the best places to know about new or up coming deck releases? As always, many thanks in advance for the assistance.

Well, so far anyway, I always knew I was in the 1% group - good or bad.   ;D  Be a collector whenever it feels right.

Not quite...  No age group here is listed as being only 1%.  It's either 0% or at least 6% and change, so far!

Oops, my error Don I looked right over the parentheses. Must be my old age, but it does say 5% so that's not as bad.  :)

Welcome Stircrazy from a newbie. I can't conceive of having so many decks, but at the rate you are going you will have to add a room on just to hold your vast collection.

The Conversation Parlor / Odd question of the day

It's the newbie again,

How many of you keep track of the cost for each deck, brick, collectible that you purchase so that you know what your total invest is at any given time? Or do you just buy and not track the costs - cause you just don't want to know. (-:

Anybody insure their sizable collections?

The Conversation Parlor / Branded vs. Unbranded

Hello all -

Would someone kindly explain why some kickstarter rewards offer both branded and unbranded decks. Besides the obvious, what are the significant differences from a collectors point of view? Thanks again from the newbie -

The Conversation Parlor / Re: Generally, one to open and one sealed?

Generally speaking that is true.  One to play and one to stay unopened.  And of course your unopened ones you want to put them them in a nice big display case....

Oh my gosh!!! I can't ever see myself with that many decks, but I suppose the 'fever' could strike when I least expect it. <grin>

A question from a genuine  newbie collector. Do collectors generally buy at minimum two decks of a particular design so that one can be opened and one can remained sealed. I 'assume' a sealed deck in more valuable in the long run than one that has been opened? TNX

Introduce Yourself / Greetings all!!
« on: July 16, 2014, 05:18:00 PM »
Hello everyone!  I have always been a fan of playing cards and the many unique designs that can be found. However, I have only become interested, very recently, in starting to collect decks that appeal to me. And it occurred to me (yep, I can be slow) that there must be other folks with similar interests out in cyberspace. So, Google to the rescue - and here I am.

Where would be a good place, source of information (besides this forum) where I could find out more about collecting? Any suggestions are appreciated.

A question of curiosity regarding Bicycle deck sealing - can somebody enlighten me as to how the cellophane is sealed on the ends? I see no indication of an adhesive being used and have wonder about this for quite sometime. TNX

See you all on the forum!!
Ron
