Playing Card Plethora / Re: Purple LTD - with bonus rare deck, White LTD!

It's not in our favor since we see it all to often from Ellusionist but... On the flip side, they are not marketing to us.  They are marketing to kids, point blank.  They are not worried about us, 18+ aged, because the kids will spend there parents money on impulse.  Ellusionist is simply doing what works for them and catering to the next generation since we've all grown numb to it.

I'm not sure the market is really into the modern & simplified concepts right now with Fed52 and Dale Mathis raising the bar.  We have acquired a taste for nicer things.  I do wish the project developer the best though.

My big question would be this: does anyone have those cork-covered clips they were selling?  How did THEY hold up over time?

LMAO!

I thought I would chime in on this one  :)

Don has very great points that I really enjoyed reading but lets cut through all the technical back and forth nonsense and call it what it is.  Vanity!
Lucky for D&D they only need to sell a hand full to pay for the production cost of an entire batch.  I'm not saying I wouldn't do the same thing if I had a brand like they do.  But it's all playing into your vanity and keeping there brand in the forefront.

Cheers

David I really hope it works out for you man I just wish you would take baby steps.  I feel your want it so bad that your not thinking it through and giving it the time it deserves.  The Loop Cuts deck took 7 months of hard work and critical planning and it still didn't hit goal.  Nothing you put up over a few weeks time is going to cut it with the USPCC.  I wish you the best, just wanted to give you some last minute advice.

So what you're saying is that I'm right.  You were standing over his shoulder telling him "I wouldn't do that" and the second you weren't there he did it anyway.  By the way, i loved the video on the last project that was great.  I hope you didn't consult with him on Stigmata because that wasn't great.  The art was fine but the only people I know who'd be interested is the group of nun's at the convent down the road.

Ha ha, yeah you got me on that Alex.  I didn't consult on the Stigmata however.  I didn't know about it until it was live on Kickstarter.

What I think David lacks is someone standing over his shoulder to tell him, "I wouldn't do that".

That is where you are wrong.  I consulted him on the newer design and worked with him to produce a professional trailer and tell him how to lay it all out.  Then when I went on vacation he tore it all down and put up the old design.  I know from personal experience that his weakness is consistency and just being willing to see anything through until the end.

So will you be making these for other people?  I'd be interested for one of my future projects.

We will be making them available to artists after the Armatura KS comes to a close.

Thanks

Hey guys,  I wanted to stop in and show you something new.

This is a collaborative project between Loop Cuts and Origins Playing Cards.  We are getting ready to ship out our first Loop Card Clips and get these rolling.

~ Thanks

I actually asked, since I saw some other independent sellers on there, if they might be interested in my decks and they said they "weren't big fans of Tendril or Aurum."

:( That gaves me the sad. My poor little decks are feeling all alone now.

Screw that Paul.  You've produced some of my favorite work.  It's all a bunch of political BS to keep the big guys in control of this rapidly expanding market.  Truth be told, a lot of people like you Paul are doing a better job than they ever did.  We are in the middle of a the playing card renaissance and it's the little guys making the big moves.

We are already beyond our 100% goal!

Don't mean to sound negative here - but that really wasn't difficult with a $400 goal was it? Good luck with your project though it's an interesting clip.

No worries JP, no negativity felt :).  Yes it was a low goal but who would't keep it low if there was no minimum run?

I will say those clips are sexy as hell. That brick box display looks neat too... I hope you hit the higher goals man good luck!

Thanks man

Cheers

Hey Guys, Sorry for the lack of updates.  The team has been incredibly busy working out updates for the KS as well as the site. I'm dropping in to let you know we are now selling our Acrylic Card Clips on the Kickstarter Project along with some other nice additions.   For those of you that are serious magicians, you'd be happy to find we are offering Stripper & Invisible decks now. We also have a big reward being added to the campaign very soon by Justin Miller.

Thanks

Is there supposed to be something in between the words:  The Official                        Playing Cards, or is that part of the design?

Maybe if the "The Official Loop Cuts Playing Cards" was turned 180 degrees and if his custom seal said, "Loop Cuts"  that might work a bit better...

We decided not to go with a wrap around seal because it didn't feel right with the design of the box.  There have been a few things that we wanted to do but couldn't at this stage.  We are just keeping some of our concepts on the back burner for now.
