I'm not sure if you meant for it to, but man did that sound pompous.

Personally, I'm stoked about this deck. I'm wondering if it will incorporate the historical aspects of Texas' past or just a modern representation.

Yeah I did, a little I suppose. I love Jackson's style and imagination but I don't have a patriotic bone in my body so it's hard to get behind decks that are so blatantly 'Murica!!', I would never criticism him for creating in a theme that he loves but I'm always a little sad personally to see my favorite artists work on my least favorite subjects.

Jackson said there would be a limited edition of this as well. But other than a traditionally Intaglio Engraved tax stamp, I'm not sure what all will be limited about the limited edition deck. I'm in for both standard and limited editions, of course!

I gotta say the more and more I look at this deck the more and more I don't think I can pass it up, especially after reading about the intaglio stamp, my mother did a lot of intaglio printing back in the day and I love it.

I assume through USPC? I own two of your Legacy boxes, see your pens on instagram all the time, really loved the video of you making the leather cases, your wall clock.. I'm surprised you haven't taken a crack at gilding a deck yourself, ever toyed with the Idea?

Yes, through USPCC. He did say the gilding would be by hand, just not whose hand.

Just to clarify - we're talking about 23-karat gold leaf, not gold paint, right? I recall you mentioned you planned to use the higher quality leaf process for this deck. Who's doing the work for you?

Yes I'm talking about actual gold leaf not gold paint or the stuff USPCC uses. I have been building an incredibly relationship with a high end book binder and print house in New York state that is doing both the gold leafing and intaglio printing for the tax stamp. This book/print house is one of the best in the world and they do the majority of the print / binding for the White house historical society in DC. The work and they have done for me has bee unrivaled in quality.
