somone asked d and d on twitter if they would re sell any of the past smoke and mirrors decks and they said

bucktwins Dan and Dave @ @MattySag3 We plan on releasing a new edition later this year. Stay tuned. awesome so there confermed this year im saving my money for the realease haha im not missing them

ok lets be honest... that was kinda a no brainer. v6 came out in what, September of 2011? pretty safe to say that they would release another S&M in 2012

Probably. They said no more coloured editions. Hopefully, they'll be at the same quality of the others and not the quality of their more recent efforts.

Yes! This is the Smoke and Mirrors I've been looking forward to! I'm not surprised that they are actually making it. I figured it would happen sooner or later. I doubt it'll happen until summer or later though.

NO. The v6 were supposed to be the last of the Color Edition. However, black is not a colour, it is the absence of color. I believe though that there is a possibility that this deck is not what we expect it to be.

Oh. And I was wondering, what takes them so long between each deck release? Isn't each deck almost the same except for the color and slight differences in the court card designs?

Maybe because they want to release all of these decks with standard faces... :-*

Yep, they space them out for marketing purposes etc. Do you really think they work on it from the release date of one to the release of the next one? These things probably take a lot of time in prototyping and getting the handling right, talking with USPCC but the design? If it takes longer than a day, someone's being really lazy.

Of course it wouldn't take long since there're no alternations in the design. But I think it takes a bit of time to tweak the colouring into the perfect colour. Plus, it wouldn't make sense if they released each edition only a month apart. That would bring down the hype for the S&M series.

Yeah obviously timing is the key. They have to release these at different times for hype and so that each deck becomes more hard to come by as the next one releases. It's not a whole new design so the really only details that need to be worked out are the color and making sure the handling and quality is the same.

In the meantime D&D release a new deck every week with standard faces just so we dont get bored waiting

Getting the right color takes no time at all. Maybe an hour if you're real nitpicky, but that's it. The S&M design lends itself to extremely simple recoloration.

Unless they actually put effort into the design, I don't see myself picking up more than a couple this go-around.

Really? It seems all the designers these days have to take a couple different tries to get the colors right. You mentioned that the metallic ink didn't work out and other people have mentioned that they had to get another prototype printed to get the colors right. I didn't think it was that easy haha An hour!?

There will be PLENTY of resellers for it. I'm sure you will find a good deal.

I think they might use a different design than the V4-V6 because the V1-3 were one design then the V4-V6 and I think they may make a new design. for V7-....V9?

I don't think there will be a v8 and beyond. I'm guessing this will be the end (hopefully). I'd be guessing it will be the design found on the ad card in the v6 deck

I also got a message from them stating they were releasing more in the Fulton's series as well. No mention of when or what, just that there were more on the way.

maybe hes working on it now it was retweeted by the bucktwins i wish there was a release list even if it didnt say what deck just a list of when they were all coming so i could be ready for all the releases

Well, this is good news. It has been literally dozens of hours since the last D&D deck release, and with an S&M deck we already expect uninspired design. Sounds like it'll be a home run!
