The book is nice. The red seal is strange (colour). My horribly subjective opinion - blue one can be better.
Yeah, that's what I was think too. I am really excited to see the "prism" effect!  8)

Do you all really think the blood dripping down on the AoC make that much difference? Again I am still learning.  :)
I don't know how serious these card games get! For me it is not a problem. I do not play high stakes games with large amounts of cash though, even if I did I would most likely be playing with a more traditional deck.
This deck is maybe for more friendly games, I am guessing.

Hi Jeff!
Thanks for joining us here and sharing with everyone.
The indices are the numbers and suits in the corners. Personally I like the overlapping letters, I think Don is saying that the K on the king is a little too close to centre.
As far as your budget goes plan for the unexpected, for example international packages require an extra $2 customs form to be filled in. Unless you have already planned for all that.

Anyway I REALLY love your art style! Well Done!

Seems to be missing the thin black border in his JoD.
Whoa, you have a good eye for detail! Impressive.

About the cards. I like this cartoony art style. It is the type of deck that is not being to serious but has still retained the "traditional features" like the suicide king, so I know the artist has done some research. It is also refreshingly colorful too.
I am not sure who is printing the deck though...

As far as the pricing goes maybe there is some weird fee for larger items above a certain weight... maybe it is the extra cost for the print on the brick box...maybe it is something else...you never can anticipate all the "other" fees there are for decks, that much I know.
I have invited them to join us so maybe they can share their reasoning behind this. I really don't understand it.

I just read PurpleIce's comment,
And the price, even with worldwide shipping seems a tad high, with the price increasing the more you buy. Doesn't look like they want larger pledges?
$16 for a deck for 1 deck is on the high side for international shipping, but not unheard of. (used to it  :( ), but $16.50/deck for 6 decks is not. Not only does the price doesn't decrease in larger quantities, but it seems the shipping goes up per deck with more decks. First time i seen shipping work this way.
Wait is this SHIPPING prices?  :o Now I really don't get it...

I think that any art on any deck is art. I think there are different degrees of "art" on decks. From the standard faces

 all the way to this,

This is Decked Out by Connie Lim

I think this deck by Eva Jo is just a bit too far in over the "Art" side for me.
But for me its any deck that is in that category, they just dont appeal to me.
I really do love art decks in general though, I find the "standard faces" just way to simple and lazy, especially in this exciting new world of deck variety. It is good to know there is a deck for everyone!

Wow, that is so weird 2 nights ago I woke up and sketched an upside-down tree just like the one in the picture, then went back to sleep. Looks really cool.
I love the printing on the inside of the Calaveras Deck.

It is so weird because I don't usually like the overdone "skulls" but on this deck I don't mind it.
The Tarot deck tuck box looks really good though, I can't wait to see the cards.

Update from Lonnie,
My family owns a post card business in Michigan. We may be able to do it. The personality cards were put together from scanning a lot of information about it and i rewrote all of the text that I gleaned from a lot of information. I edit books for people sometimes. It wasn't to hard to write. I work day and night for nothing right now. Thanks for posting my updates!

It kind of reminds me of this old deck release notice that "xela" last posted over a year ago...

Warning - you might wet your pants laughing...  :))
WOW that is really hilarious!

+1 [ok, ok, I've forgotten] +1 +1
I don't get it?
I hope I am not the black sheep here but I very rarely see an "art deck" as a good thing. Most the ones I have see did not feel like a complete thing. Yes the artwork was good, but I guess I rather see cards as cards and the art to be the same through out.
Agree. Also I think this is way more art than deck, and the KS category is "Art", so I think it is meant to be seen as art that is presented in deck form.
I was looking at it as a deck with "art" on it and judging it based on that. As an art piece it is okay, it would be better if it could be used as a deck as well. The KS project would have a greater potential.

Update from Lonnie.
Tell your posters I love there comments. It has been a brutal disaster. I took my face off of most of the cards because the feedback was so bad!!! Novelty museums are where the card would go if it was successful. There's one here in Orlando. I do want to build a small museum here to feature collectors playing cards and where people can come and play. The movie is turning out pretty good. It is something out of this whole thing that I think will actually work. I don't spam, but the IP is a public library! My first kickstarter project I had no idea what I was doing! The movie is being made on green screen and computor graphics. I'm pretty hard to impress too, like you guys are, but it is coming along pretty good. It's a dark movie, pretty interesting so far. Lot's of work though!

Sounds like Lonnie would be an interesting addition here. Can you let Lonnie though the fort knox security set up of this forum Don?

I think it's great this campaign funded. While it's not for me, I wanted to like the decks I just don't, it happens. Tomas is clearly very passionate about the decks and I think that's a wonderful thing to have made a reality.
I applaud Tomas for his persistence, however if I had a deck and the KS failed I would change/improve something before thinking about a relaunch. It confused/frustrated me that the project went up so many times without a single obvious change been made. I am pretty sure someones definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Miraculously this has resulted in a different outcome. Happy for Tomas that his deck has finally got funding.

The art has a quirky raw style, I am not really into it though.
The project as a whole seems really unplanned. If the deck was first designed 20 years ago, what is the rush now? How can they get to people by Christmas if they are shipping from China? The price seems insane to me. My opinion of an "Art deck" has changed recently. Traditional decks are still a work of art to me in their own way. I think the deck should still be useful as a deck of cards. If she really likes to play card games then she would know importance of indices placement. The whole KS page needs more images and more work.
Easy pass for me.

The deck seems a bit bizarre, at least what little of it I can see here.  Is it safe to guess that the faces are all USPC standard?  They're trying to take what looks like a rather pedestrian deck and hype it up to be some big prize for being the fastest clicker on Black Friday.

Does anyone have an open deck of these so we can examine them more fully?

I can take a pass on this one, easily.

Into the valley of death i go...I'll go back to the shop and try sneak a few pictures sometime next week if we can't get any pictures out by then.

No, PurpleIce don't do it, it's no worth it man, please someone stop him...someone post some images...please

Welcome Collector and thanks for the link!

Do I really need to write "off topic" every time I go "off topic"? Because I go "off topic" a lot, and if I have to type "off Topic" every time I go "off topic" well that could take a while...  ;D

I love the quote on the tuck box "Ninjas don't wish upon a star, they throw them"
Totally dig the way combining the tuck boxes creates an epic battle too.
Very awesome design!!!

Lonnie messaged me with an explanation...
"I used my face because the card is the launch of the franchise "Counting The Cards" The movie is in production right now! I play the Joker Character, who's name is Grey Dalco. The release will be next fall. The character "Grey Dalco" that will be played by Lonnie himself, uses the Magical and Powerful Marked Playing Cards to "Time travel," "See Peoples Personalities," and as a "Weapon" and "Magical Tool." He can also "Communicate with it" into different Realms and Times in history. He gets into all kinds of situations on his journey that the Awesome and all Powerful Playing Card helps get him out of."

Welcome Enkya, Thanks for joining us here ans sharing.
I LOVE that every card has been customized with your quirky and fun art style. Anyone who takes the time to design 56 individual cards always impresses me. I can see you have put quite a bit of work into the whole project. The book as the tuck box is a nice touch too. I was looking through your previous projects and I really like your art.
I have to agree that $20 is a lot for a MPC deck though. I hope you take PurpleIce's advice and add some early bird decks at a more reasonable price to help get your project going.
Thanks for taking the time to share with everyone here and I hope your project goes well! :)
