Bought a cool little collector's item today...

Hung out with a friend and fellow collector today. He's a guy that I think has really good taste and I keep pushing him to try to get an account here.

Anyways, for $3 he sold me an item that tickled my fancy. Its a single card from a deck of playing cards that only get handed out to special guests aboard Air Force Two (the Vice President's private plane).

Not exactly a one hundred year old deck, but I thought I'd show you guys something I got a kick out of.

Was told it's either from when George H.W. Bush was VP or else its from Dan Quayle's era.

Either way, I didn't pay a lot for it and it's a neat item for history buffs that like cards (like me!)

If you poke around a bit, I remember seeing a guy selling an Air Force One bridge set on eBay, I think it was...  A single is nice, but the whole deck is stellar!

At three bucks, though - it's pretty cool!

Found the ebay listing for the Air Force One deck. They have one from 'Dubya'(G.W.B.) that they're offering for $35 with free shipping. That might be the next addition to my collection.

These are neat and fun to image you are holding the same deck as the Pres or VP actually played with on the plane!

Interesting one.  I happen to have a deck of them, but with a more blue-ish back to them than the one you show.  I don't remember where I came across it, likely trolling on eBay I suppose.  I'm thinking it might have come from the White House Gift Shop, which has a presence on eBay.
