They're too basic and don't add much. I like Sci-Fi, but if you make a Sci-Fi deck, you need to go all in.
On the topic of Sci-Fi and space themed decks, can you think of any good ones?
If anything, I'd think the misprint would make it a rarity among playing cards and possibly more sought after than other club decks. It also makes for a cool gaff card!
Thanks for the topic, I've been slammed lately and haven't done much "forum-ing" these days (there are just soooo many darn places to communicate anymore, it's like a full time job).
At any rate, these are going to be the intro price until tomorrow at noon. The store has been a bit finicky at times because of people putting huge numbers of decks in their carts to see how many are left, which messes it up for everyone else. As of right now, there are a handful of Black foiled decks and about 300 Red still left.
I think these are going to look great in hand and I'm looking forward to getting all of these out to people asap!
Square-cut cards? In this day and age? And with indices that far away from the corner?
Celestial was inspired by the astronomical instruments of ancient times, the charts of the sky and the limitless bounds of imagination. Celestial incorporates dynamic edge detail that looks amazing in fans, while the bold design lines will catch the eye and are perfect for cardistry. Like all Encarded decks, the faces are custom yet familiar and perfectly playable.
Why do a Classic Deck this time? Well, to be perfectly honest we love those classic looking decks. I mean, who doesn't. They are the most widely used style of decks produced today. When we made the decision to try our hand at one, we knew right out of the gate that we needed to keep those classic "bones" of the deck, but then put in our own unique vision and style wherever we could without altering that well known look too much. Overlords is what we came up with. A classic style Poker Deck with a unique Sci Fi twist... inspired by Dune, Highlander and yes, even Romeo and Juliet.

You're welcome for the laughs, Annette! I do like the second version of the Ace of Spades much better.
Some of the decks Fess mentioned are made with synthetic tucks - and some aren't. The first deck to use it was Asi Wind's Chameleons and the 2014 52 Plus Joker gold deck predates that, as do the club's Pack Jackets (unless there's been an updated version since, which is possible - I don't know, personally, but Lee Asher and Bill Kalush would). I know the Jetsetters in Altitude Blue have a synthetic tuck box and I don't have a L&T deck so I couldn't say one way or another.
Chameleons are still available from the Conjuring Arts Research Center - red and blue are US$10 a pack, the green is a premium deck at US$20 a pack and there are discounts for buying three-packs and one-dozen bricks. How much longer they'll be around, I couldn't say - they are a limited edition, as are all the decks Fess mentioned.
I never expected collecting cards would make me anything; I expected it to cost me! But...
I recently ordered one deck of what I though was the Bicycle Pluma deck, and I was sent 6 of the Autumn deck, 3 of each color. I ordered it again (wanting that Pluma deck!), and again I was sent 6 Autumn decks. I did not accept them and informed the store. Then the site went out of stock.
Next day, they're back in stock at a different price, so I ordered three. I was sent 3 half bricks! Went home and they showed 4 left in stock, so I bought all 4. Again, I was sent TWO BRICKS of the Autumn deck, one of each color. I called customer service, and they literally told me there must've been either a mistake, or the warehouse was clearing stock and used an existing sku. Either way she said, and I'm quoting, "congratulations, enjoy them!"
So, I sold some, and I kept some. I sold some half bricks on eBay incredibly cheap. Around twenty bucks, shipping included. I passed on a great deal, and made a couple bucks. Now I have a bunch of decks to use, and a bunch to add to my collection. I really love the cards themselves. They seem like a thinner stock than Standard RBs.
