What do you do with old decks?

I have a lot of old decks that I don't know what to do with them.
I use some of them in magic. Torn them, throw them. But there are still a lot of them.
What should I do with them?

And another question, how old is the deck you usually use in magic?

I just keep thm in my collection to look pretty

They are only the standard back. And I wanna make use of them more than let them sitting around.
I don't have a lot of place to store decks.

Those are the decks that you should do TnR, signed cards, and things like that. Or you can just recycle them...  :'(

I would spread them out and frame them. That's what I'm going to do with my 3 destroyed Red Artifice.

I use my old decks for magic ( signed card, torn,restored,card stab,gaffs..etc.),also
a mate of mine,used old cards to make a railing for his poker table,he put them at various
places on the rail and put a shalacer (sp?) finish over them,to make them part of the rail design.

Yes, Mismagg822's video is more of what I was referring to. Not to hard pretty simple, and I don't think it requires any tape if I remember right.

It's too bad that it isn't a little bit bigger - I reckon it would be awesome to have a box made out of playing cards to store playing cards.

Also, I imagine bicycle-themed origami would look absolutely spectacular.

Once my deck gets old I gimmick up the entire deck to certain tricks (EG - Gimicking up all the royalty cards for Cannibal)

Then you don't need to ruin a new full deck of cards each time your doing a trick

I really like the idea of taping a deck into packets to use when learning a new flourish. Very nice thinking, gonna do that (maybe take my most-horrible-cards-ever-created Target $1 specials and make a 6 packet deck or something).

Once I get "Trilogy" I will definitely be taping up little packets of cards.

I've seen how-to videos for making wallets out of old playing cards or out of their boxes.  Another interesting idea is laying them out on a table and covering the top with a sheet of glass.  Some bars have done similar, but they shellacked the cards to the bar surface.

Using them for magic tricks which involve destroying cards is a good way to go.  If the deck is worn but still intact, handing them down to a little kid to play with works fine - they don't care about fanning and glide when playing Go Fish or Crazy 8s.
