Looks like it is now available https://store.theory11.com/products/mysterybox-black-edition

I purchased the box last time, the box is kinda cool rustic and with an interesting patina. I will not be purchasing this new deck.

There are a couple of ways to answer your question.

1st: Google tracks him https://santatracker.google.com/?hl=en#village you can even talk to him via some sort of IM https://santatracker.google.com/?hl=en#callfromsanta

2nd: NORAD tracks Santa (great use of tax dollars if you ask me) http://www.noradsanta.org/

or maybe he is dead, could he survive the trip?  http://www.positiveatheism.org/writ/santa.htm

Either way I got my Red Gatorbacks  8)

In the past sales he has done similar things, very unpredictable and unorthodox compared to traditional retailers. (But be isn't a retailer first, he is a magician first)

I can understand the frustrations, but based on past years nothing out of the norm for DB.

Nothing  was said when this would take place, anyone remember the crazy sale last year for the silver split spades?

If you do then I image a similar scenario this year.

I believe the black gatorbacks are bee stock(?), and the green are not. The description in the black mention high quality casino stock, the green does not.

Green: http://shop.davidblaine.com/products/metallic-green-gatorbacks

Black: http://shop.davidblaine.com/products/black-gatorbacks

Other not sure is there are other differences.

Jackson's decks do just get better and better as time goes on… The artistry and high design of these decks are really unparalleled… I don't want to sound melodramatic, but there is not a designer making playing cards today that is in the same league as Jackson… Period…  Incredible group of decks once again… The add ons and additional decks carry the theme, but are original enough as to make them unique and highly desirable… Great work once again Jackson… Looks like you're going to hit another home run out of the park, and from what it looks like you are going to crush your next few visits up to bat as well… Wishing you continued success… You truly deserve all of the accolades that you're receiving…

I agree he is a great designer and I would argue he knows how focus his designs in the right way and subject matter.

I personally don't fancy the SH deck that much, I thought the federal 52 v1/v2 are all time classics. Don't think the SH decks are quite to that standard, but he has a knack for picking card subjects. I think the military decks will be interesting.

Had a few new things come in, was a good Holidays I think.

The uncuts are Legends V1 & V2.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Gold Artifice !!!
« on: December 29, 2013, 05:02:43 PM »
If Ellusionist really want the deck to come across as being 'ultra rare' and valuable, then they probably won't want to allow very many (such as 9 decks -- 3 for renewing BC membership, and the option to buy 6 extra) to go out... because the majority of the additional purchased decks will probably end up on eBay!

E probably looks at it solely as a give away and limited deck for promotion of the Black Club. I doubt they care if the decks are on eBay, they even mentioned eBay in the letter they sent out. That being said to get the decks you have to pay the renewal price and then for the additional deck above and beyond the 3 you will need to pay the premium deck price. Look like a good money making play for E. eBay is an afterthought IMO.

BTW all limited deck releases (not sure if this is a limited release) are usually 5k runs as stated by Brad from E. Potentially limited supply, with limited release.

We have charmin and Kleenex in th uk lol don't forget plenty ( formerly bounty ) lol
Anyway, I thought someone stated something about their being limited to 6 decks each?

Who said that?

BTW: the US still has Bounty.

It's stated on the flyer also, here's a link for it. http://aethercards.com/discourse/playing-card-plethora/gold-artifice-black-club-renewal/ Maybe a merge?

Interesting because the email I received above stated they will be giving you 3 when you renew and the flyer states you get one ( I have gotten that flyer just been awhile since I looked at it).  Obvious this "reward" is fluid as I looks like you will probably be getting 3 with your renewal as the email was just sent out. I am curious to know if you will in fact be able to buy an additional 6 for a total of 9 decks, and the reason I bring that up is because the renewal amount if obviously different which seems like they are trying to nail down the "reward".

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO MISSED THIS KEY PART OF THE MESSAGE..

And what a gorgeous gift it is! The final Artifice in the Series, and available ONLY to Black Club.

So, when can we expect the purple Arcane deck?  :))

No doubt!

The Artifice looks nice though, embossed with real gold! Haha j/k. I think the box is a step up.

Received an email :

Thanks for being a part of BLACK CLUB. We're writing to update you on Renewal.

We know you've seen how valuable it is to be a member in this elite club. Many are writing to ask how to renew. If you'll notice, we've extended your membership at no cost, and will continue to do so until your renewal gift is "ready".

And what a gorgeous gift it is! The final Artifice in the Series, and available ONLY to Black Club.

If you've ordered recently you've seen a few pics on the shipping insert included in your package. Gold Artifice. Wrapped in glittering foil on the softest, most expensive black luxe paper. Like the rare Gold Arcane, but far more distinctive.

This single deck will put the crowning achievement on the critically acclaimed Artifice line. There will be no more Artifice produced after this one. We'll still have all the decks available, just no more colors.

Let us explain how the "gift" aspect of Black Club works...

As part of year one everyone gets the superb "welcome to Black Club" kit. Then, during the year, you experience what Black Club is all about. Very quickly, the $147 pricetag fades in your rearview mirror. You realize that the cost of Black Club gets paid for quickly as you enjoy rare items that NO ONE else can own. These are given to you either at great savings or no cost at all. We'll remind you of a few of this past year's benefits in a moment.

When you renew, we want to give you a gift for joining us for another year. This year's gift is the Gold Artifice Rare Deck. THREE of them. We figured you need one to put on the shelf to hold as an investment (believe us, it will be worth a lot some day), you need one to take out and use for special performances, and you need one deck to do anything you want with (some may sell the deck on eBay and let the profits pay for their entire year in Black Club.... we don't necessarily recommend it but the option is there).

The deck was expected to be ready in mid December. It's not. There were a few additions we wanted to give to the deck and we are doing that. If it's worth it, it's worth waiting for. The limited number of Gold Artifice decks should be delivered to the Ellusionist warehouse by the third week in Jan. At that time the first renewal will be available for purchase.

We are extending your membership UNTIL your renewal is available.

You will be getting free months of benefits, whatever it takes. It's just another benefit of being in the Black Club.... we take care of our own and always will.

So that's it. We're late on the deck. We want you to wait for it. '14 is going to be incredible. You're going to get even MORE than you got last year.

Actually, it's been interesting looking back at what you did get.

The most talk we hear is about 24 hours pre-notice on releases. This feature lets you get in and get out FIRST. On a popular product you've seen our servers get annihilated for hours as magicians struggle to checkout. Black Club has already "been there" and "done that" before the first server starts coughing up a furball. And on rare items where there are only 50 available, BC snaps them up before ANYONE.

Then there's the standard stuff... the 5% off, the three free downloads, free DVD downloads, the 250 extra loyalty points, the opportunity to buy from the Black Club store (so much cool stuff, and MORE coming). All that will come to you again during the second year as well.

Then! The specialty items you got. The Black Rounders sent to your door to surprise you before anyone else even knew they existed, with a SIGNED NOTE from Madison.

The Gold Arcane sheet at NO COST.

Free download effects through the year that no one else got, from Madison, Peter McKinnon and Justin Miller, all at NO COST.

You picked up a free Red Arcane deck before anyone even knew they existed, at NO COST.

You got various special deals, a few of which are....

• 24 Hours Double Your Discount
• 25% Off Smiley by Laurent Mikelfield
• 25% Off Artifact Coins
• $50 Off Colossal Luxury Close Up Pad
• $50 Off Pure Smoke
• $50 Off Gold Arcane Sheets
• 33% Off the Black Club Ring

We plan to beef up the store in 2014, with more rare, sweet products only for you guys.
Black Club truly IS special.

We hope you enjoyed what you received over the last year, and know it's only going to get better. We'll let you know when you can renew.

Best wishes for an incredible New Year, be sure to stay safe.

Team Ellusionist.

End email

This should have the information you are looking for.

Actually I didn't get a secret e-mail about the White LTD, it was a secret sale that happened they just didn't announce it to everyone.  Those who found it they said they "recommend" not telling everyone, slightly different wording.

But in reality, do you honestly think the Virts really want you to be quiet about a new release?  They "do" but they "don't"  ;) if you know what I mean,  at the end of the day they are in it to sell some decks and their brand.

It's like telling your 5 year old kid - "Hey son, I left some pizza in the fridge and it's super good.  Please don't eat it"  Guess what he is going to do.

Great marketing, plain and simple. But lets hang the guys who posted about the "New Virts" deck and while we are at it the White LTD - oh wait...  ;D

Interesting, I have a black club membership and my membership was going to lapse a few days ago.  I checked the date my membership is active to and it shows Dec 24th, can anyone else confirm this if you purchased early on when the membership was rolled out Nov/Dec 2012?  I also looked at where to renew and you are not able to add the BC membership to the cart.

Expect a renewal email marketing campaign in the near future as stated above (BTW I got the same flyer as pictured above).

Oh this is what else was in the package with the flyer  :D

At least we now have confirmation that they're completely out of the Black Ghost 1st Edition decks.

Saw this posted on E's forum about quantities, not to go too far off topic but it does pertain to quantities of limited decks:

Yes, there were 5000 of the Tiger first edition originally. We only have 550 left in existence and those are the ones I pulled for my personal supply, they're downstairs now.

Ghost 1st edition, we only have 133 copies left, period. That one is darn rare.

Gold Arcane had 5000 made. We have only 1760 left.

We will almost always do a run of 5000 on the limited decks.

Hope that helps.
[End post]

And this was a count about a year and a half ago, they just opened it up last week with regards to availability for purchase so they may be close to or below 1k in stock.  I would say prices will go down in the short term but in the medium to long term prices will gradually go up.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: The Zinfandel Deck - by Eric Mana

I think on the white deck they should use the indigo color for the silver foil accents and the black deck use the Zinfandel color instead of the gold accents. I think that would keep the feel and look of the deck more consistent.

My thoughts.

Then why do you guys hate on the big guys when they release colour changes? Calling those money grabs and Paul a justified business model. You cant pick and choose. Goddamn hypocrites.

You have a point and I get it. I also get this is a business which has been stated, money grab or not that is ultimately what business is about, transactions. It just so happens some products put out seem less well executed which makes it seem deck producers don't value their customers. But realize all of these companies would probably be considered small businesses, trying to grow in an interesting and dynamic industry.

I just think it is cool we have so many choices to choose from. Makes it easy to pass up on what I don't like. I don't get the bashing of big and small producers..... But it makes for an interesting and entertaining read @ 11:00 pm and can't sleep.

Thanks for that!

I got the Deco 2nd versions and both uncuts.... I hope they arrive soon

A Cellar of Fine Vintages / Re: Playboy Casino Atlantic City Deck
« on: February 23, 2013, 01:38:08 PM »
I totally agree with runit :-\

There are 5 series of Playboy playing cards:
  • Bicycle Playboy decks (blue & red)
  • Bee Playboy decks (solid back, green & orange)
  • Bee Playboy decks (diamond back, green & orange)
  • European Playboy decks (solid back, non-USPCC, same design with #2, many colors except green & orange, without tuck box)
  • garbage Playboy decks
2 years ago, the diamond-backed Playboy decks in dealingdecues were sold for $49.9 or $59.9 (I forget), now they just raised the price to $99.9 :-\

EDIT: To my knowledge, the official Playboy Atlantic City decks are #2.

I actually have 3 sets of the Fournier playboy decks (4 in a set), and they come in a sort of tuck box that encloses all 3 decks.  I was told they were from the London playboy casino from the 70s...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Playboy_Club

I will try and post some photos of the 4pack set.... I believe they are solid back with playboy symbol brown in color with a green and white box. Each deck inside of the 4 card tuck box is wrapped in paper with a circle cut out of tuck box.

24
Got my decks and uncut, the decks are not gilded for what it is worth.  Bought the uncut to hang on the wall...
