Printing in Sweden, the original design printing in uspcc
Thank you!

Did you or did you not announce that you were using USPC as your printer?  Because now it seems like you're using some printer in Sweden.  Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the Swedish printer will do a bang-up job, but it's NOT USPC.

Looking at proposals and taking action on them are two different things.  You decided to take the easiest ones - give the back a color, and make the border more narrow - while completely neglecting the gaping holes in your deck's theme.  If you don't fill them, this deck might be better off named Titanic II, 'cause it's gonna sink like the first one!

And all these insane giveaways!  Nobody in playing cards gives away a thousand-dollar computer, never mind the other stuff!  Not if they want to have even a slim margin of profit.  You even tried giving me three decks, just for being who I am and writing so much about your deck - never mind that you ignored most of my suggestions.  It's clear you just wanted to build hype for your deck, but the old adage of any publicity, negative or positive, is better than no publicity at all will not hold true here.

(Just so everyone knows, I turned him down and stated that if they really improve the design into something worth owning, I'd BUY three decks.  But it's pretty apparent to me that it's not going to happen.  First time I ever turned down a free deck.)

I am so so on this deck. I find the artwork very nice, but also inconsistent, and very similar to many other decks (seasons, artifice mostly IMO). However some little added details fit pretty nicely.

Fit what?  A sudoku puzzle?

From what I've seen of the court cards so far (and that ain't much), he pulled off the frame, played with the geometric patterns in the clothing a little and replaced weapons and flowers with somewhat disproportionate musical instruments and wine glasses.  It's more like cut-and-paste at its finest!  You can even see where the Queen of Clubs's hand holding the glass went unchanged - they covered the flower with the glass, which is why the glass seems just a little big.

If this deck goes through with only the minimal changes "Carpathia Team" stated they would make, then I'm not interested, thankyewverrymush.

Perhaps it is because printing in Sweden is cheaper than the USPCC they can afford to give away so much stuff, I assume its gonna handle like the Anglos which is not a problem of course. But according to Carpathiateam there will be 2 print runs, 1 USPCC and 1 Swedish, the Swedish ones will have more colours splashed in.

But even that being said giving away so much stuff really cuts the profit margin,I believe fearless leader Alex made about $3,000 designing and selling the vortex. Assuming the profits are the same that leaves the Carpathia team with less than $2,000 as profit.

Assuming there are more than 1 person in said team, each person won't get much for their work. Although that being said each person probably didn't really give a crap seeing how they ignored all suggestions and is adamant about giving us a thick bordered, black and white, nowhere near the theme put forward in the first place deck.

' I do not neglect everyone's proposal, and I looked at each. ' Suggestions were seen and promptly forgotten about.
'I try to modify the back color' Sorry what colour? I guess black and white are 2 colours.

Also to show how disproportionate their instruments are, this is the instrument on the King of Clubs in real life, see how my hand is not half the size of it?

Redtank - the math is a bit oversimplified, but the general idea is correct.  Give away thousand-dollar computers, profits go bye-bye...

Which printing company are you planning to use in Sweden?
Yes, I might be the guy you remember from that thing at that place way back when.

This deck is now available!

http://www.carpathiadeck.com

One thing I find EXTREMELY odd is that Aloys (designer of blue tune) and Charle (designer of Carpathia deck) both offer similar rewards:The first order will get free GOLD Monarch. With each purchase of 12 CarpathiaDeck, the customer will gain a free Carpathia Chips. The customer who purchases the most will obtain a set of Mac Book Air 13’.

Also, they both had a different color of their deck printed by a company in a different country. AND, they both talk very similarly.

It doesn't really matter but I just find it very odd.

I've heard unsubstantiated rumors that they are indeed one and the same individual.  The identical reward structure itself wouldn't be so odd were it not for the fact that it contains some rather oddball items, most odd being that MacBook Air.  Note that there was no mention of whether wholesale purchases were eligible to win it or not.

I swear the Carpathiateam doesn't even read questions properly, it is actually very funny. On facebook " What is the print-run? " " yes ,will print. " Lollery.

You ever think that English isn't their first language and that maybe they don't know what "print-run" means?

To be fair, the inquiring mind posing the question (assuming your quote is accurate) neglected to ask anything about number or size.  It's not much of a stretch to interpret the question as an inquiry as to whether the cards were printed yet.

Extremely bogus and bizarre. I was briefly under the impression they were from Sweden, but the name Charles Lee seemed kind of odd for a Swedish designer. There are a few things I do like about some of the design, and have to agree that the simplicity of a design using just black and white can work, if done well. I am sure I am going to be the only one here who feels this way, but I do kind of like certain vintage cheap decks for their simplicity. This deck definitely had some of those qualities but to many other inconsistencies that just came off as not paying attention to details and some questionable choices.

Nice sleuth work Don.
