"This is a brand new Bicycle deck which will be available in the next 2 to 3 months. I do not have a lot of information except to say production will be limited to 2500 decks and we will be carrying this deck on our website when it becomes available." - bmpokerworld

This deck looks alright. Nothing special so far. I am hoping for at least custom court cards but have no idea what to expect.

Yeah I heard some rumors about these a day or two ago. Not sure what I think of them really. The box and back art look alright. Hopefully they'll have something that really makes these a hit! I guess we will have to wait and see.

The box does look good and I'm liking the backs so far. Looking forward to seeing the faces and court cards.

Just have to keep the faith;D

Can't say much about the deck. Nice to have a dark, navy box, I haven't seen many of those.

That might look a little better. It's hard to tell, but in general I'm getting a little bored with all the black decks.

With a deck that uses Times New Roman and Arial as fonts I am guessing standard faces.

Also, the 'Outer Glow' photoshop effect around the front art is on default settings! hahaha

Navy blue is interesting. Back design is alright, but nothing too crazy. Curious exactly where the "Faith" part works into the theme, it mostly looks like your standard victorian-ish swirly stuff to me. Maybe Buddhist? What appears to be Times New Roman also kills that box front/sides for me...

LOL ^ Russell. Times New Roman indeed. :)

I noticed that but... eh, it kinda works.  Honestly, this looks like a bit of a 'nothing' deck; I don't see what makes it better than a standard Bike.

I like the back design, but the tuck box needs some work done. I hope it's not printed yet... Otherwise it may come out disappointing to many.

Well that not too bad! BMP is pretty good! I'll have to make an order from him and maybe pick up 1 or 2 of these.

If these are coming out in 2-3 months, this means that these are already in the printing process... Does any one have pics of the other cards?

This deck's major allure is that it exists, beyond that it accomplishes nothing. The back design doesn't mean anything, it's just fancy artwork that is consistently released every month by other manufacturers. The theme seems iffy to me. If it's based around faith, then that's kind of silly, considering that cards are used in gambling and magic, two things outlawed by most religions.

The outer-glow on the AoS is silly. It looks like they didn't even chance the opacity or color settings. Everyone who has ever used Photoshop knows how awesome the OG layer style is, but also how terrible it is in its default state.

Times New Roman for a font is strange. New computers today ship with a lot more serif fonts that are infinitely better than TNR. I think Russell said they're using Arial too? I have no issue with that, Arial is a fantastic font and is one of the #1 used fonts for digital media. I think the problem is that the designers clearly didn't bother going above and beyond.

I would hate to call this garbage, but it certainly looks like almost no effort was put into the deck. Still, there is definitely redemption to be had if they show some awesome court cards and the like.

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

  • Facebook:
There's an important point we're all missing here: we haven't seen a single card, so we don't actually know what the finished card back looks like yet.  The image on the back of the box is USUALLY the back design, but there's enough exceptions to that unwritten rule to make me hesitate to say this is indeed what the card backs look like.  Instead of an all-black deck, it could be all white for all we know.  I still remember opening a Bicycle Clot deck and realizing that on the box the backs were black, but on the cards they were mostly red.  It was one of the many cases of the box back looking better than the card back.

I find little to interest me in this deck so far.  Pretty designs that in my eyes vaguely resemble a grayscale Transducer deck.  No clue on the fronts at all.  Boring box design - Sean Whelan, if you're reading this and you haven't already done so, CHANGE THE FONT on your box from Times New Roman (or a TNR look-alike) to something else; almost anything would be better!

It's wait and see, as usual.  Right now, nothing compels me to want even one deck yet.

The Times New Roman font does look kind of out of place.
I have a feeling that this deck probably won't be anything special. But thats just a guess.

Have you guys given their website a good look?  Right now, it's a plain black screen with "Faith" on one line and "playing cards" below it - but when you mouse over the words, "playing cards" morphs into "comging soon".  That's not my typo - it's theirs!

This doesn't inspire faith in me that their design team knows what the hell they're doing...

For the back, and the AOS, I really like them, but I feel that this will be no better then all the other decks being released, such as the Vision deck. Other then the back, Box, and AOS it will probably be a standard deck.

Thanks for the info Loldude! That's a bummer that it's mostly standard but it's not a big surprise. It seems to be the norm these days. I might have missed it but where is the picture of the AoS? Thanks!

I believe the front of the box is the AOS, but I'm not positive, but if it is, I like it!

Also, what I said was purely speculation. I'm not sure if it will have standard faces, but I'm willing to bet it does, and I don't think it will be very special. Once again, don't quote me on that, it just seems like the type of deck that is all about the back, the AoS., and possibly the jokers.

Gotcha! I'm hoping the AoS is a little different. I'm not a huge fan of the box. It wouldn't surprise me if it is bog standard besides the AoS, Jokers, Backs, and Box. It's sad to say but that's what most people are doing these days. It'd be nice to see a push toward fully custom decks!

Mystery is the basic appeal of magic. Once the secrets are known, the magician becomes a mere manipulator, an actor in a suspense drama which has little impact because the audience knows the ending in advance.

Faith Playing Cards writes on UC

"Faith Deck representing the pure idea of faith is going to be officially put forward. In this new deck of cards, you can see more than excellent material quality. The delicate design of Faith Deck is more reflected in the selection of elements and colour assortment. Designers specially select various elements, combine them together in a unique manner and endow them with appropriate colours, which bring an unparalleled visual sense of mystery for collectors. Its fancy design can make people feel designers' unique concept of art. High quality sense of touch equips Faith Deck with stronger appeal to users to play games. In addition, tiny design in each card face fully represents the "Faith" contained within the entire deck of cards. The conviction disclosed by it is convincing enough for poker collectors. Every single card of Faith Deck integrates the material quality and pattern exclusively owned by itself. The perfect combination of high-grade printing ink and colour makes you attracted by it, which makes it one of the most perfect and valuable pokers. This is exactly the "Faith".

Yeah that was ridiculous! Here's some photos from 52cartes that you might all enjoy! Looks like there are some custom pips! I wasn't expecting that so maybe the court cards will also be custom but once again I'm doubting that. Overall I'm not a fan of the pips or the joker, what do you all think?

Every single card of Faith Deck integrates the material quality and pattern exclusively owned by itself. The perfect combination of high-grade printing ink and colour makes you attracted by it, which makes it one of the most perfect and valuable pokers. This is exactly the "Faith".

Never in my life have I heard such a load of steaming hyperbolic bullshit.  And judging from their at times incorrect English usage, I'd wager this is another deck being made by a company based in Asia, meaning huge shipping costs to North America.  It sounded more like they were trying to market it to poker players!

The joker looks like something from amateurish doujinshi (hope I spelled that right) and the five of diamonds is really, really ugly.  It's not as bad as the Tattoo deck, but it's not even close to something worthwhile.  If I put this deck out at my poker table, someone would intentionally spill a beer on them just to get them off the table and into the trash.

It's trying to be custom for custom's sake.  There's no thought to the design, other than "What can we slap together on the cheap to make this look custom and get people to buy it?"

But at least they corrected the "comging soon" typo on the barren website...  :))

WTF was all of that?

Ohh look at the 5 of diamonds.... notice something wrong with the bottom pip? it is needlessly backwards. They tried to make it upside-down like normal pips are when on the 'bottom'... but the swirl design is swapped for no reason, the swirl looks the same upside-down as right-side up... they flipped it HORIZONTALLY not vertically.

Oy, this whole deck makes my head hurt.

The font for the the indexes is ugly as hell! And it shouldn't be call the Faith deck, it should be the Swirl deck. Everything has swirls. I'm going to pass on this one.

Ugh, reading that makes me think of being in a foreign, developing country and people coming up to you and offering goods while saying, "Me see you like? Is good? You buy?". I understand that perfect English is silly to ask for all the time, but jeez. That paragraph belongs in Finnegan's Wake rather than a sales pitch.
Oh, Lawd!

I often judge a deck by first glance, this deck is not special. And I never believe those marketing messages, I still don't understand why this deck has something to do with "failth"... :o :o

It really doesn't.  It has to do with a few guys deciding they'd like to make a profit and that selling limited edition playing cards was the way to go - without a friggin' clue about the market other than that they buy rare cards.  They have "faith" that we're foolish enough to buy, and we have "faith" that the prospect is laughable.

New flash, folks...

The website is now live.  Sort of.

The quote above that they posted on UC is word-for-word the exact ad copy they put on the home page.  How original.

They have SIX likes on Facebook, as of a little while ago.  Poor, misguided souls...

They're taking pre-orders, using a cookie-cutter form that I know I've seen on another magic/deck company's website - and the best part is that when you finish filling it out, you are asked to "Sumbit" your information!  That's exactly what the on-screen button says, "Sumbit".  Now that's sumbit of work there...  :))

They couldn't pay me to order this deck.  If I got it for free, I'd use the cards as coasters or kindling.  I have great Faith in that, for sure...

Just while we're all laughing at the misguided buggers, the images that make up most of the site are...  well, put it this way, when you want to put a photo album on a site, you pre-load one image and program an algorithm that will pull the next image off the servr when the user clicks left or right.  This makes sense because otherwise you have to load in every image beforehand and eventually it puts serious load on your server and any machine accessing it to load all that data at once.  Guess how they've designed the Faith website?  I guess we can all be thankful they only have 2 images.

I guess that the conclusion I draw from all this is that doing all the necessary parts of making a deck is actually a bit of work, and not everyone gets all those parts right on the first try. But as we can see, the first try is your most critical try and you have to put in the effort the first time, not try to clean it up later.

I would suggest that proofreading be a preliminary task they look into, as Don points out. I sumbit that for approval.

I wish everyone the best of luck bringing their project to life, and I know how hard it is, but you have to try guys. Don't half-ass it.

That cookie-cutter form you saw was from mana playing cards, back when they just started. It was i believe the insider subscription form.

Probably not  :P
I was just curious to see what the price was. I don't plan on getting them unless they're really cheap which they probably won't be.

You mean they won't let you sumbit it? ROTFLMAO!

I tried the same thing plugging in some bogus but legitimate-looking info.  I got this message:

Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.

And of course, there's no link for contacting said "administrator" (and I use that term very loosely), unless you count the Twitter and Facebook buttons.

At least they're up to NINE likes - that's a 50% increase in one day!  Yay, Faith cards!   :P :-\ ???   (Taste no evil, scratch no evil, see everything dizzily...)

That is what was happening to me when trying to get some Manas but then they told me a was a machine and banned me.
People say nothing's impossible, but I do nothing everyday.

Today I found something that reminded me of you. But don't worry I flushed and everything went back to normal.

Kinda off-topic, but it's possible their bot detection software was set to hyperactive when the deck went up for grabs.  I'm glad I got in a purchase beforehand by being a contest winner.

Now, back on topic?  Or continue this on the Mana topic?
