Playing Card Plethora / Re: Ellusionist - Is Something Coming?
« on: July 04, 2012, 07:23:30 AM »
The new effects do look interesting. I will not go into it as this is not a magic forum. I have noticed the something is comming add is still left up there. Perhaps a new deck to throw in with a large order? Perhaps not but I have always been partial to E's decls so I hope to see something.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: $4 decks at HOPC on July 4th!
« on: July 03, 2012, 04:38:11 PM »
I have yet to make a purchase at HOPC but I really appreciate how they handle things. The gentleman has been on both forums and despite taking some heat from a few people he maintained his cool and handled the situation very well. I am looking forward to buying something from them. I am placing a magic order and waiting to see what E is comming out with but I almost feel obligated to purchase something at HOPC as I truly like their business model.

Hello, I received my Galvanic deck that I pledged for long after the Vortex was funded. I am wondering if anyone who has received a Vortex would like to trade or sell a Vortex. Although I already backed Vortex, I would be willing to pay more just to see it.

Please note I fixed the title to conform with board rules.

Guys, I think he's just being passive-aggressive about the fact that the shipping on KS pledges is taking so long.

If you really want a Vortex deck and are willing to pay more, just go to the1eyedjack.com and buy them already.  You know damn well that practically no one here has them yet.

Here's the link: Vortex Deck for $12.95 at The1EyedJack.  Don't forget the coupon code for a discount on your purchase.
Nice try Don, actually, I do not know if you know it but it is you being passive aggresive. Yes, I did back several Vortex and no, I did not receive them. I have faith I will get them one day but I thought this might be a way to get my hands on a deck. I would rather not buy them on ebay or one eyed jack yet. Don, I do not know if you knew it but what you were trying to read into my honest post would not fit the def. of passive aggresive no matter how hard you attempted to shove it into said definition. If you said ball busting, that might fit but it is an honest attempt to obtain a Vortex deck. Is it so crazy that I am anxious to actually check out a Vortex. I mean I would not have backed them if I did not want one.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Card Clips
« on: June 07, 2012, 10:07:41 AM »
Hey guys, right now Conjuring Creations is working hard on making sure the Tendril Eco Clips finish production and make it out the door.  We are also awaiting the end of “The Grid’s” Kickstarter campaign.  I know the demand is rising for the clips but we’re just not in the position to produce and in house stock yet.  We’re a very young company and we have high hope but for now we’re still taking our baby steps.

Thanks
Thanks, and I am glad you are having success. My first impression on these was mediocre but as I see and hear more about them I am getting the idea. I plan on being a customer once you have things in place.

It will be good when the white monarch BS subsides so we can move on to the next card release fiasco and put up another thread saying the same things with a different card name.

Seriously? Another 250 deck release? That worked out really well last time!

No, it really didn't work out well at all, and in spite of that, I'm going to bet everyone who is upset with Theory-11 will still be there next Friday clicking order and throwing money at them.

In all honestly it's actually quite fascinating how a mass of people will complain about the performance of something and yet still flock to it like lambs to the slaughter.
Dude, you are so right. These past two weeks have been ridicoulus, and I made myself that way over cards. I am sure next weel will be the same thing. I am going out to buy some rogaine as I think the stress is making my hair fall out.

The Conversation Parlor / Re: Technology and Magic
« on: May 27, 2012, 03:43:43 PM »
I am very much into magic. I must admit I did not watch the posted video yet, I am at work and I do not want to catch the IT dpt. attention with youtube, bad enough I am doing this. Anyway, I appreciate all forms of magic but I sometimes wonder about high tech magic. What kind of effect will it have. Something about high tech magic seems to make it less magical. I think sleight of hand and good patter are the way to go. I know they make invisible decks for the iphone, I have not seen it yet but I can see it being cool. Anyway, high tech can be good eye candy when it comes to magic. I am sure some people could make it work very well. I just know for my style I could not pull it off. I will check out this video when I get home.

Attention: They've switched the time for the release 12 earlier, making their release about 11AM EST - that means I'll be in school about to start school No matter what, I'm still going to try!

P.S. - They announced this on their SNC.
Thanks for that update, I was a bit confused about the 2nd release. Numerous people were saying numerous things at numerous forums. I know what Alex said can certainly be correct. It seems like a color change and hype on a deck should not make people go so crazy. I have to say my interest in obtaining these decks was driven more by aesthetics than rarity. I really like the looks of the white and gold. Those pictures CBJ posted were exceptionally nice. Other than that, color change alone can be quite disappointing.

I received my shipping notice today.  Dang, that was fast.  Hopefully, I'll have the cards in hand on Tuesday (Monday is a holiday in the USA)..  I apreciate the speed and priority that Paul gave to shipping and customer service.!!!!  Even if his next deck is butt-ugly(I sure hope it isn't), I will back Encarded's next release.  He has proven his committment to his customers and his business.
Thanks Paul!!
Man, you beat me. I just received a shipping email. Mailed today. I am very impressed. Americana and Encarded have my business. I appreciate the hard work they must have put into getting these out. I have a feeling Shaun is going to do the same thing. I am really looking forward to receiving the encarded deck.

Does anyone know why Aether 10% discount expired at dealingdeuces.

12
do u know any coupon code for this site? i want to buy some decks

thanks
Coupon Code info:
http://aethercards.com/discourse/index.php?topic=2185.0
Code is AETHER10 = 10% off

Mind you, that's just for Discourse members.  Don't toss it around everywhere.  (As if it would stay secret in the age of Google...)  :))
I guess it does not matter. The Aether discount expired on Dealing Deuces. Perhaps it works elsewhere, and yes to the other gentleman who asked if these are the same on dealing deuces as DandD. I ordered the gold set and they declined my Aether discount.

I think it looks nice. I am really digging these type of decks lately. Just seems sleek and elegant. I know not everyone likes them but if they become availible, I will probably pay the 3,789 dollars in shipping fees to get them.

Well, I'm an asshole.  It looks like I'm the one who can't read.
Cool, you too  :D I am very good at it. Back on topic, those clips are looking more and mor attractive. I am kind of partial to the porpers as I am not sure about the warping factor with these other clips but I think if these are getting visually stunning I will need to obtain a few.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Uncut sheets and TUCK sheets!
« on: May 22, 2012, 02:41:12 PM »
Hey jmrock.  We understand that you're not a big fan of the NOC deck.  That's ok.  Nobody is forcing anyone to buy anything that they don't want.

This is the first time uncut tucks have been offered anywhere.  We find that to be pretty exciting, regardless of which deck it is.

As I've stated in other threads, different decks appeal to different people for different reasons.  We think the plain style of the NOC is really well-suited to a lot of applications.  We have 3 other decks available alongside the NOC that have plenty of design, effort, and detail.  And we'll be coming out with plenty more.

We think that Uncut Tucks are a pretty unique and fun item, and it's exciting for us to be the first company to offer them.  We also think that the price of $44.95 for a set of 2 tuck sheets offers quite a good value for anyone who wants to pick them up.

Another note - The NOC uncut tucks are the first double-sided tucks to be printed in-house at USPC.  Prior to this deck, printing inside the tuck required use of a 3rd party printer. Just another unique little factoid about these uncut tuck sheets.
As I wrote on the other forum, I like how you guys are doing this. No hype, just release. The only reason why I am not jumping on it is I have one uncutt sheet (deck one) that I have still not got around to framing and I do not want my OCD to kick in on uncutts as it has on playing cards. I like what you are doing and have new found respect for your company. With the glut of kickstarter (which I am swearing off) and playing card companies it is good to see someone doing something different. +1 to you and I will be watching for your releases. Good luck on your sale.

First off congrats on your success. I think it is great to see artist succede. I am also glad I am finding out kickstarter is a viable option to obtain nice original decks. I think you and Americana truly solidified kickstarter for a number of us that is if you get yours out promptly which I am sure you will. Tendril was one of the more fascinating releases have seen in some time. It will be a pleasure to add these to my collection and I look forward to doing so.

« on: May 15, 2012, 06:02:33 PM »
@Don... Agreed... At least they're not tweeting like with the Chinatown Fultons, which by the way have a new seal... The seal has two chopsticks printed on it and the deck's only selling for $40 with the new seal... How many are you going to pick up?

Exactly zero.  I didn't like the deck much without a seal, so I doubt the seal will make the cards any better.

Them Buck brothers sure do like makin' bucks...I'd wager is someone offered up a stool sample from either of them, someone would be willing to pay big bucks for it.  :))
Only if it is a limited edition.

I just had six raw oysters for lunch. They were very good but I cut my hand opening them and I wonder if they are worth the effort. It is interesting seeing t11 comming out with a new deck. I like their products but then again I do not seem to dislike any playing card company although I have noticed kickstarter is annoying me with saturation. Once it becomes more profit driven than art driven I think it starts to recede. I would imagine these decks will be limited. Even though we all bitch about them it seems to be what collectors desire. This is supported when one sees how fast many of these sell out along with the price increase on Ebay. I will be keeping an eye out for the release date and I will be one of the numerous idiotssitting in front of my computer waiting for the exact moment they come up. As St. Augustine said, "without vice, there would be no virtue."

eggman - you have fully redeemed yourself with physiognomy... That is what we call in the states an S.A.T. word to the fullest... hahaha!!!!
Glad you appreciated it. Did you need to google it or did you know what it meant? When I arrived home from work today I had two packages, one containing the seasons deck, the other, the americana deck. That makes it a good day. What a geek I am, joy being brought to my life from the arrival of playing cards.

hahahaha... @eggman... I said I was just playing a lil bit... I know I tend to get a bit carried away at times, but no disrespect was intended... As for the news, I tend to read the paper and try to steer clear of most television news; however, I find BBC does an excellent job regarding world news...
No problem, I am trying not to engage in conflict which is easy to do. It can be difficult to determine joking around without the benefit of physiognomy online. I agree with you regarding the BBC. Also, if you like news magazines, The Economist is great which is also is a British publication.

@eggman... you scare me a little bit... a gross is 144, which is something you learn playing with fireworks at a very young age (gross of bottle rockets)... This is just one example of the decline of civilization... In addition, Don stated that he had a total of 150, 6 of which were his own... Thus the remaining gross would equal 144... Also - Google - it's a wonderful thing... just playing a lil bit, don't take it so hard... back to the post - Don, congratulations on receiving one of the most anticipated decks in recent history... I've been waiting for this deck for a very long time and look forward to receiving my decks... I may even open one of the boxes!
Forgive my ignorance, despite my desire to collect cards, I spend little time studying them. I usually ask questions here to learn. If you feel someone asking how many are in a gross is a sign of the decline of civilization, I do not know what you do when you watch the news.

I received a gross of these in the mail today - I'll put them up for sale very soon!
Great to hear you received them 5May. I am in angst waiting for them. I hope to receive them soon. I take it yours were from kickstarter or was it a side order. Also, how many are in a gross if you do not mind my inquiry

Hec, might as well push it to the wall at that time. It is not the cover up that gets you, it is the cover up of the cover up. I leaned that when I worked for G.Gordon Liddy.

Not to say it is right, but this is standard practice in many countries. We (my wife and I) had a small business in China.  Although the Chinese government says it is cleaning up its act, it is impossible to conduct business without greasing palms. I know of one international company (I will with hold the name) that paid large bribes. It is the cost of doing business in many countries. I am surprised people are surprised about this.
