The Conversation Parlor / Things to Pass Along
« on: December 09, 2013, 01:46:30 AM »
Okay, so I know I have been creating multiple topics lately but I feel like this new one is actually going to be my favorite.

Throughout the past couple of months, I have began to take note of certain quotes or poems or things of that nature that impact me. By impact I mean made me sit down and thing about it or that I felt I could relate on what was being said by the author. Through this time period, I have amassed a few, roughly 20 or so, and keep them all in a little book of mine.

While on a social media sight today, I came across a poem by Mark Grist named "I Want a Girl Who Reads". He also has a youtube video named "Girls Who Read" that I will attach below of him reciting his poem. It made me start to think about my collection and finding a way to share it with all of you. So I came up with this.

I am saying this all and making this topic because it got me thinking about the values that people hold true to themselves. These values are different for every single individual and are reflected in the works that we enjoy. So I ask you guys and gals to share some of the works that you enjoy. I want to gain access to works I would never have come across before if it hadn't been for you wonderful folks. Heck, even if I simply show somebody something that interests them, a hobby not known before this, would be awesome.

So please, feel free to post things that grab your attention or impact you. Feel free to comment on what people post and if you can compare to what they feel. I think this is such a great medium for people to reflect on their lives and it would be nice for others to partake in it with me.

With that, I will leave you with a quote by Helen Keller.
"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart".

The Conversation Parlor / FIFA World Cup 2014
« on: December 06, 2013, 01:47:28 PM »
So since the drawing for the World Cup was today, I figured it would be a good idea to start a new topic for those of us football fans. I attached a picture of all the groups so you don't have to go very far to look them up. I personally feel Group G is the Group of Death. As a USA fan, I feel that it will be quite tough to come out of it. I am really looking forward to the World Cup next summer. It should be a a great one. There is a lot of awesome match-ups already. I love how Spain and the Netherlands are playing each other in their first game. A rematch of the 2010 World Cup final. If only it was summer already  :t11:

Feedback + Support / Go Down/ Go Up Button

When I first joined this forum, it had go down/go up buttons. This were very useful I felt when you wanted to check out a new post on a topic. Where have these buttons gone too? Will they be coming back?

I understand the term reputation but I am unsure how it is affected here on this site. How does one increase their reputation or possibly increase another persons reputation?

Introduce Yourself / Hello
« on: November 05, 2013, 03:49:16 AM »
Hello everyone,
So I am new to the whole playing card collecting gig and honestly thought that I was alone in the process for the most part. I have spent the past couple weeks looking through amazon and ebay at decks that look awesome and "worth" buying. I finally came across this and felt that I wasn't alone which is awesome. So as a beginner, would any of you happen to have any words of advice. I know I cannot afford being a big time collector since I am in fact a college student, but tips that could help my small collection would be greatly appreciated. All the best =D
