Hey guys, I am in search of the Friar's Club decks. I'm looking for 4 blue and 4 red decks, all in their cellophane.

PM offers to me.

The orange ones seem to be in cellophane but the blues ones that people have been selling recently don't have cellophane. Not sure why that is as that's the way the seller received them. It will be a little difficult to find the blue ones in the original cellophane.

You should automatically bid, Alex, and that would solve that problem! And no one answered my question  :'( what does ISO stand for?

Some also interpret it as "Is Seeking Out" - but the meaning's pretty much the same either way.

Alex - did you find them?  I just read WhatIsMagic2011's post and it looks like pokerstud52 may have beaten you to the punch.

@Don, actually WhatIsMagic2011 had sold out his Firars Club decks few days ago on UC. He's just too lazy to update the status here. :P :P

Oh, well.  If I hear of any more, Alex, I'll be sure to let you know.

Does anyone know why most of the blue decks I've seen have no cellophane on them?  I've seen very few new USPC decks retailed without cellophane - off the top of my head I can think of Mavericks, Aviators and the blue-cream "dirty" deck.

The simple answer would be lower production costs.  Aviators and Mavericks are on the low end of the USPC food chain.  But Streamlines are super cheap - $1 at Walmart - and I think they come in cellophane.  Then again, that could simply be a loss leader for Walmart, or just the power of bulk purchasing.

Steamboats don't have them because they have the little sticky loop that lets you hang them up on racks in stores.  As for Friars... I got mine but they're not for sale, just keep looking around eBay, they pop up now and again.
