Playing Card Plethora / Re: Asylum Playing Cards Lawsuit

Sorry for bumping up an old post like this one, however I just got a message from Ed Nash at Kickstarter. Seems like he is sending all backers this message, thought you guys should read it, if any of you are a backer, or just interested :)

1st message, Feb. 1:

Dear Asylum backers,

As you are probably aware, many of the fulfillments have started to go out. I have always stated that this project would be fulfilled, and that has always been the intent, despite the delays. I am both happy and relieved to say that we are entering the final phase of fulfillment, and rewards to all remaining backers will be shipping over the next several days, and all remaining backers should receive their rewards within the next month. Due to the delays in this project, I’d like to ask everyone to check the shipping address they provided to the project surveys, and please make updates if your address has changed within the next 48 hours. I’d like to again thank everyone for backing this creative, speculative project, for having patience with the timetable, and for having faith in Kickstarter and the idea of crowdfunding.

Sincerely,
Ed Nash

FOLLOW-UP:
As I am receiving a lot of messages and questions regarding the previous message, if you need to update your address, please do so by updating the project Survey. I have made them all updatable, and it will speed the process along so that I can reimport and update everything at once in the database for shipping. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Ed

Several backers have asked about how to update their address that they submitted, so here is some helpful direction from Kickstarter:

How can I view or change my survey responses?

If you’ve already submitted your backer survey, you can review your response by visiting the project page and clicking the 'Your response' text in the bottom of the reward tier you selected.

If the creator of this project has enabled address changes (I have), you’ll notice an option at the top of this modal that will allow you to change your shipping information.

Your blue Bikes are cool - the gold-bordered tucks aren't available at "standard" retail in the US, only internationally or through card shops.

I sincerely hope those prices aren't in dollars OR euros...  That makes them look REALLY EXPENSIVE!  :))

Hmm, I never really though about the gold-border on the blue Bikes! It's just the standard Bicycle for me, but nice to know!  :)
Btw, the prices are in DKK - you can pretty much just divide the price by 5.6  :)

This is what I got:

- 2x Blue Aladdin 1001
- 2x Red Aladdin 1001
- 1x White Aladdin 1001

- 2x Dragon Deck (Andy Magic)
- 1x Jeff McBride coin

- 12x Blue Standard Bicycle

I also got Indecent by Wayne Houchin pretty cheap!

Playing Card Plethora / Looking for suggestions... cards in a chest
« on: July 10, 2014, 07:22:18 AM »
Hello there!

So I really enjoy showing my cards in different and nice ways!
My girlfriend just bought me this cool chest - it fits 10 decks of cards (5 at the bottom of the chest, 5 in the top)
However, I'm unsure about what kind of cards I should put in the chest! I have thought of using the following so far:

- Bicycle Pirate (black and white)
- Seven Seas
- Medallions (Theory 11)
- Sultan Treasury

I would really like to have suggestions from other you guys on the forum for other decks, that might be cool to have laying around in a chest! :)

If the cards could be printed, that would be a dream scenario! But no matter what, let justice be done! I have zero respect or sympathy for scammers

So I finally picked up the Bicycle/Zippo gift set, I've wanted to get that thing for a looong time now! Got two of them.
I also picked up one of those Bicycle Seconds in the hope of getting some funny cards, but all of them look perfect, I just can't figure out why these are seconds, but nevermind.

Lastly I tried a lucky bag that contained 5 different decks. I got a Playboy Special Edition Playing Cards (2005), a Piatnik StarClub, Modiano Plastic Cards, a Bicycle Black/Grey that I can't remember the name of, and lasty a Bee Jumbo Index

Overall I'm happy enough with the stuff that I got.
Btw, the back of that Modiano is actually pretty nice!

Nice contest and cool prices!

Picked a random card and it was....
10 of Hearts!

9
This is usually not my style at all, but... I really like these cards! Haven't pledged for a Kickstarter deck forever, but I'm considering backing this one. I am a little sceptical about the economic site of things though... I just went through all of the pledge options, and many of them are actually pretty cheap compared to other Kickstarter projects.

4 decks, $9 each
6 decks, $8 each
8 decks, $7 each
10 decks, $6 each
12 decks, $5 each

Also, 100 early birds for as many decks you want for $10 each.
The goal is $6,000 and will be printed by USPCC. I am a little unsure about this

The Conversation Parlor / Re: International Shipping

I live in Denmark and I have, once, had problems with playing cards. The Genesis playing cards never arrived to me.. I though it was because of all the trouble I had with my bank, card and PayPal, so I never really cared too much about it. Later I backed the Allure Playing Cards. When that shipment arrived, I also received my Genesis Playing Cards! I contacted Noel Quiles about it, and he confirmed that he had trouble with the post office when he wanted to ship the cards to me in DK.

But that's the only time I've ever had trouble with playing cards :)

8 of hearts :D

One could actually use the large box separately from the two smaller ones.  8 decks per small box, at least 16 in the big one, possibly more.

Don, you are a genius! I just tried it out, I can fit 27 decks in the large box by it self.. and then I got the two smaller boxes for themselves, that's another 16 deck storage available, a total of 43 deck storage, if you use the large box separately from the smaller ones!

EDIT:
If you fill the large binder with cards they are able to move around inside of the binders when you move it around, they are not sitting tight in there :)

14
Bastian, it's my requirement that a post containing something as awesome as those binders MUST have a link to the product included. Those are niiice.

That's petty cool Bastion....I second the Link request  :)

Thanks guys! It's actually from IKEA, Århus in Denmark :P
I did some research - here's the link for the US: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90246154/
And for the UK: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90246154/

15
Not quite playing cards I've gotten here, but something for my cards though :P

Now I'm note sure of the correct English word for this thing, but it's kinda like one large binder with two smaller binders inside of it - and each of the small binders fit 8 decks, so the binder fits a total of 16 decks! It's a pretty nice way of storing cards :)

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Poker Ball of playing cards
« on: December 23, 2013, 08:31:06 AM »
Are you sure it's Styrofoam?  I've always found it hard to glue things to Styrofoam, and the uncovered ball at the bottom looks more substantial than Styrofoam - more like wood, actually.

Regardless, they look cool.  I think it would be a great project as a wall covering.  Make one good-sized square, scan it, erase the visible seams, replicate it on the right paper and you've got a kickass wallpaper.

I'm not sure about the Styrofoam, I used Google Translate and in the comments at the bottom Kete mentions Styrofoam, but GT and Chinese doesn't make to much sense I find.. though some of the balls looks like wood, but others like Styrofoam

But your idea for a wallpaper - so cool!

Not sure if this is the right place for this topic, feel free to move it if so :)

I'm following Kete Moon at Facebook and he posted a link to his blog with a picture attached. It's a ball styrofoam with parts from playing cards glued on to it, it looks really cool. Wanted to share it here to those who haven't seen it yet :)

I might try to make one of these myself

Here's the link to his blog with more pictures: http://love.youthwant.com.tw/4/book_readz.php?stud_id=100123572&b_id=3792&p=3793&ftype=9

New decks arrived! Two decks without boxes, but they came in a nice wooden box! They're from Austria :)
I haven't had the chance to take a look at when they were printed yet :)

For me, it's these:
Fund Michael Frömmer's 1616 Silver Bicycle® Playing Cards
The Mirror Deck Gaffed Playing Cards
Asylum Playing Cards
ULTRAVIOLET // Playing cards from beta17

Haven't checked on the project for quite a while.. but I actually received my cards at least a month ago or so. But yeah, I haven't received Asylum, Ultraviolet and Quicksilver, though I am more optimistic about the Quicksilver cards than the others :)

Second entry: December 20th  :)

21
Danish! :D

I'm probably the only Dane here though :)
Would gladly help with translations even needed :)

January the 5th! :)

I think that the design is not what people are used to see form Ellusionist, at least I'm not.. it's not even my style or design, but I'll wait to see more pictures of the cards :)

But maaaaan, Ellusionist got some sweet stuff to offer for their Christmas prizes! I would love to win prize number four! 144 decks from Ellusionist, yes please! :D
