I have a Cintique, and still only use mouse and keyboard for working in Illustrator. But The Intuos line is my recommendation

Love this Ender, you consistently put out some of the best Meta content in the community.

I think this could use honorable mention for the Napa Valley Cassette displays that are so popular!

Playing Card Plethora / Kings Wild Table Player's Subscription
« on: September 08, 2019, 11:21:22 PM »
Jackson provided some details for his upcoming subscription service through an Instagram Q&A:

The subscription will not be limited. Unlike his KWP Shorts subscription, anyone will be able to sign up.

There aren't tiers. There will only be one deck every two months (see the next point for more info on this). No tiers and no LE or alternative version. Always just the one deck.

The subscription is charged monthly, but each deck is released every second month. So each month you are paying for half a deck (or decks). That means there will be 6 Table Payer's decks each year, even though it is a monthly sub.

The prices get cheaper as you get more decks each month. The pricing will be as follows (unsure yet if there will be more options):
  • One deck for $6 each month ($12 per deck, delivered every other month)
  • Two decks for $11 each month ($22 for two decks delivered every other month; $11 per deck)
  • A brick for $60 each month ($120 for 12 decks every other month; $10 per deck)

Shipping is a flat fee based on your location:
  • $5
  • $10
  • $15

Separate subs/Multi subs will be charged shipping prices for each sub, but then have discounts applied by KWP to bring the total shipping cost you have paid across all subs down to what it cost KWP to ship your decks to you.

You don't have to subscribe to get the decks. If you don't want to subscribe the decks will be available in the Kings Wild Project web store, at a premium. Each deck will be $15+shipping if bought through the web store.

Jackson advised Table Players Subscription will open up next year. No specific date at this time.

I will try to remember when I get home, but my memory is very bad. Here is an image comparing Hollingworths to a standard bike deck

@Don, didn't Dan & Dave always claim to have signature thin stock as well? For several of their decks independent of the Hollingworths?

Keeping up on the communities will help you know what decks are going to be hot; knowing the players, who is popular and relevant. Basically just being a part of the community, paying attention and watching how things sell will inform you. There aren't any tricks or shortcuts. You can reliably assume Lotrek, Fontaine, JR etc will always be somewhat of a Veblen Good, and a reliable buy.

What you are going to continue to hear is "buy what you like", and while I agree with this to an extent, it's important to factor in why you collect. And I can offer a different perspective: I am someone who gains an immense amount of pleasure from owning things other people don't. I buy what I know people will be jealous of. I have a pool of money set aside for new releases I know will fit that concept. The decks I cherish most aren't my favorite decks, they are the decks I know other people wish they had. And I like to feel like I am part of a private club of elite collectors that own the rare stuff and know that having a Tatler is more impressive than having a red Fontaine. I like to have decks that other long time established collectors of modern decks appreciate but the kiddies on Reddit have never even heard of. And I like to flex my collection.

That said, I still always get decks that resonate with me, and buy a couple extra when one really sings to me. I had to step away from collecting for several years when collecting became unhealthy, I was chasing trends, trying to play to valuation game and spending more money than I had on decks I didn't even like, just to be a completionist, or because everyone else was going to have one of whatever deck and I couldn't handle not being a part of that. I stopped collecting because I loved cards, and ultimately that should steer your decisions to buy. Coming back to it now, I am finding it much easier to say no to decks, it has to really be something that speaks to me. I'm still putting money towards that envy pool, because decks that other people want definitely still speak to me, but I finally am only getting decks I feel a worth having, and I set money aside to make sure I don't miss a release that I would kick myself for missing.

Very well said Don.

I would also be interested in the context of the deck where there was some. I am thinking specifically for decks Like the Eleven Madison Park or Now You See Me 2 Monarch editions, the Tatler and Bund18 decks and Blaine's Microsoft deck where they were made for special events, or Moda Operandi's Blue Logan deck.

For modern decks, were they to be museum'd I also think it would be interesting to have noted decks that were crowd-funded and their platform.

its on ebay , how much are these cards really worth ?  ::)  http://www.ebay.com/itm/222355305289

Not THAT much. I would pay $100/$150 for these, and I tend to spend more than I should, so I would say right now these are probably worth about $75

This is more reasonable http://www.ebay.com/itm/ABC-Playing-Cards-David-Blaine
