The concept is pretty much the same as when the first black decks were coming out, like the Bicycle Black Tiger, Bicycle Shadowmasters and Tally-Ho Viper. It didn't take long for a lot of people to follow suit, since those decks were selling like hotcakes when they first came out.
Right. As my first deck I wanted to go with something easy and also something that I knew people had an interest in. Black decks are collectible and people seem to like the look (I know I do).

Haha! Well, there's a bit more back story to it than just the genders. It turns out that the word "scopa" has become somewhat of a sexual slang word. I posted about my project on the Italy sub-reddit and some people there told me that it could have a second meaning that I don't know about. I won't go into too much detail here. Scopa Oscura sounds better in Italian, I've been told, and also holds the same meaning that I wanted.
As for the word "scopa" it means broom or sweep. One of the ways you can get points in the game is by "sweeping" the table clean of all the cards by matching them with one from your hand.
