There is a marketing tactic on eBay where empty accounts will post, bid and complete a auction at a ridiculous price to drive the price and and attention to a product. It happened with the Dan and Dave private reserve cards. The absurd sale happens waaaay early and usually before most that actually ordered the product 1st party even received their shipment.  If you look at the accounts and history  of these guys it becomes even more obvious that this was fake.

You beat me to it, a seller with a 4 user rating, 2 bidders, the winning bidder with a 0 seller rating......anyone else want to chime in and call BullS**t   ;)

I still love that Joker  :)

I talked myself out of this purchase not so much because of the cards but the cost of the box....basically not enough bang for my buck. I put the decks at $10 each, which I still think is a little high, but I was being generouse. So $120 for the decks (Grabbing the second set to offset the cost a bit), leaving $45 for the box............eh, wasn't feeling it.

But, I did end up with this set im my collection from my son for my Bday which was the day after release.........the box is not worth it, but it seems just a few things could have made it better. I can see they were trying to stick with the "Theme" but something as simple at moving the "Prohibition" branding to the outside would have been better and even some grooves to simulate a crate woulod have helped. it's a nice little set, don't get me wrong, but when your paying for it, it seems a bit off kilter cost wise.

I don't, but I will definitely check in to it, thanks for the heads-up. I've seen it mentioned before and keep forgetting to check it out.

I think about the dream of copper foil stamping due to the Exquisite Bold (EPCC) gold stamping experiment recently. I'd love to win the lottery just to produce some freakishly high end collector decks at reasonable prices, when money isn't an object and I don't need the profit. That would be fun!

In the meantime, I'll just look at my copper Rarebits and dream "what if?"!

Just curious...is there a realistic copper (at least more so than what's shown above) in the realm of printing that may not be being used due to expense, or is this copper as good as it gets with current technology/chemistry? It's a bit different with me as a collector. Since many of my cards never leave their tucks, the tuck has far more weight in my purchase decision than back color. These are great for me as a collector because I have the copper foil that I love so much whereas a lot of folks are disappointed in the back color, which I understand.

I can think of a couple other decks with Copper foil on the tucks  ;)

Did David Blaine ever actually promise ANYTHING for Black Friday?  Seriously, people...

He could be prepping for Cyber Monday, Christmas Eve, Saint Swithen's Day, the Anniversary of the Repair of his Ingrown Toenail...  WHATEVER.  But he hasn't promised a single blasted thing, as far as I know.  Chill out and be patient.

His "PR Department" is a couple of people who work in his offices downtown.  People close to him.  If he was having some personal issue, they would be by proxy, making it unlikely they're focusing on all these people clamoring for his cards as if he broke a promise or something.

I understand personal things coming up and ya, we can just relax, it is a deck of cards after all, but with all due respect Don, he did say they were going to be released on Black Friday and not posting something to update those who camped their PC to try and get such a limited item isn't right..........no matter who you are.

David Blaine is among other things, an endurance artist. He tested your endurance and you cracked. :)) You were camped in front of your computer, nice and warm, in your luxury leather computer chair. Not in a block of ice, not 6 feet under ground, not 100 plus feet in the air, not submerged in water. I'm sorry people, I can't be the only one that finds this damn funny.

Is it the end of the world if you don't get a Red Gatorback?

Just to clarify Card Player, I wasn't camped at my PC and it was meant as a general statement  :)

In all honesty, I would be shocked if the site came back up WITH Red Gators for sale without an announcement of some sort. Bring the store back up, make a release date and time announcement and move on.

As it stands, his site being down this long on Black Friday is crazy.

The Kardify Projects Store is now open, we will be releasing a Forum Members Discount code on Cyber Monday " 1FORUM5" for 15% off your order :)
http://kardifyprojects.storenvy.com/
Thanks the link did not work for me, but I found it anyway. Is this a Kardify Store or your own store? Thanks!  :)

Rose, this is the Kardify Project store, it's the retail outlet for the Aquila Project that was launched by us, Kardfy and 3 of Clubs (Ade Suryanna and company) we'll most likely use it for the retail end of our projects.

Not sure what was up with the link, it seems to work for me  :-\

Anything from CARC/EPCC never lacks in quality... and so I'm definitely interested.

The Classic Twins turned out incredible -- in my opinion, beats any USPCC deck in every single way. The ZEN looks like it'll continue the winning spree for CARC/EPCC. I do like the look of it.

How many of the ZEN decks I buy will depend on one thing... what stock/finish does the deck have -- is it the master finish or the classic finish?

I don't have any expectations at all from Ellusionist, T11, or D&D... and so on black friday, I'll be looking out for CARC's offerings (and also Legends, if they do something for black Friday).

HolyJJ, both decks have the Master Finish  ;)

I like the set, but I will pass for now. I'm a collector of "elitist" cards, not "elitist" storage boxes :-) , and the box itself adds too much cost to the standard card decks price. While I will pay extra for certain boxes, cool or not, I won't pay that much extra. I also don't care for the mixed portrait/landscape look when on display in the box. Either design them all one way or the other or, ideally, build the box so that they each can be displayed in their proper orientation. I'm a bit OCD like that.

Bigger Dee, that is so funny, it was the 1st thing I noticed and didn't mention it because I thought I was being a little to "Picky" LOL

These will be available individually in the new year, a couple will have a tuck swap, but same cards. An E Rep Posted on UC

Thank You Will,

Their small hologen's Will, but I rarely have them on for an extended period of time or pointed directly at the display. They're usually pointed down on my desk, I pulled one up for the pic.

So this past weekend I added some new storage to my little corner of my house, my wife surprised me with a new 8 Drawer dresser for storing my goodies. Its from Ikea and the drawer design and construction is ideal for the added weight of all that paper. You can fit approx. 250 decks per drawer, so I should be OK for a while :)

........the ultimate goal is to overtake the basement completely and turn it into the "Sparkz Card Museum".................one can dream  :)

And no matter what, I will continue to do what I have to do to make sure I get exactly what I want from every one of your projects. But I hope that that won't always see me pledging $370 I will never be able to afford so I don't miss out on your decks. Not because I want expensive, super limited edition decks (even if I love having something other people don't get to have.), but because I don't want to miss out on the best Jackson Robinson decks regardless of the cost.
Justin I can't say this with anymore honesty and sincerity if I tried, I know it's your choice, but this statement has me very concerned from one collector to another.
