Playing Card Plethora / Marquis Playing Cards - coming soon!
« on: March 17, 2017, 01:20:33 PM »
Hello PCF users!

Some of you guys might remember me from the early days of Kings Wild Project (I may have answered your questions on Kickstarter or helped with your order) or as that guy that designed a series inspired by Bee, The Hive, and then recently, a Chinese theme deck, Dynasty.

I've got a deck coming out soon: Marquis Playing Cards. Here's a quick teaser image (photo by the wonder Anthony Ingrassia) and there's a short first look article on Kardify . More info and images soon.

Playing Card Plethora / Legends V2.0 - Metallic Black (CARC)
« on: November 24, 2013, 08:06:27 PM »
Looks like there's a second deck that CARC is releasing this week: Legends V 2.0 - Metallic Black. Besides just the colour change, there's a deck, a cut out window where the diamond shape design is on the back of the card as well as some additional type on the box ("Superior Quality" on the front of the tuck as well as "Diamond Cut" and "Poker Size" on top of the tuck). It's hard to say with just the photo, but it looks like the tuckbox isn't laminated like the original Legends deck. Limited run of 1000 with CARC selling only 800 decks.

It's set to be released on Black Friday, which is fitting for a black coloured deck. I wonder who else is releasing a black coloured deck on Black Friday this year 'cause we've got two already.

So I finally decided to order Silver Split Spades from David Blaine's site (especially after hearing Don mention them earlier in the month). So my question to anyone who's order from the web store before is do you get a "your item has shipped" email (I did get a order confirmation e-mail, but almost everyone these days do sent an additional one for when the items are shipped)? I tried politely email customer service about it, but never heard back at all. It's been about almost 3 weeks so I was just wondering if I should worry a bit or not 'cause I haven't gotten my decks yet. It's USPS Priority International shipping to Canada and I live in one of the few major cities so I would have figured I should have gotten the decks by now.

Any answer or help from anyone would be much appreciated.

Playing Card Plethora / Black Artisan - second edition
« on: October 18, 2013, 02:28:44 AM »
I don't know if there's a thread about this yet or not, but recently I picked up the Master Collection of uncut sheets from Theory11. When the sheets arrived, I noticed that the Black Artisan looked quite a bit different from the deck I have. The Ace of Spades has a different date on it (04-13) instead of (11-12), the back of the card has the same changes as the White Artisan and the big different, that grabbed my eye first, is that the metallic ink is silver instead of gold (see photos).

I emailed them about it and apparently when they were doing a second print run, they went ahead with adjusts to improve the design (less green looking and thinner borders).

Anyone actually have a deck of these yet? It's also suppose to have that newer date on the seal as well. Personally, I like the newer version of the Black Artisan, but if that's what they're shipping out when people order, I'd wish they'd put some kind of disclaimer on their site. It's noticeable different.

Introduce Yourself / Hi Discourse
« on: September 06, 2013, 01:59:40 PM »
Hi Discourse,

My name is Brendan. I'm a card collector from Canada. I mostly collect cards for their designs and just started recently. If anyone could recommend any books on playing card history, I'd be much obliged. Or any recommendation of beautiful cards to add my collection, that would be amazing. And here's a picture of my small collection:
