Revolutionary Playing Cards... Thoughts?

I really could give two F*@#$ about his legal troubles. I however do care about the money that this clown took from me.  I have given him ample opportunity to issue a refund.  Thus, I have decided to move forward filing a report with the FBI, as was suggested to me by a friend who practices law.  The FBI currently handles internet fraud.  I have requested a refund and if he or his cohorts don't understand the gravity of this situation, then so be it.  I appreciate everyone's opinions; however, don't defend him.  He is a big boy sitting on tens of thousands of dollars of other people's money and I am certainly not helping with his legal aid fund. Please PM me if you would like to be included in the complaint and have the opportunity to get your money returned. I need your legal name, address, and the amount of money pledged and by which method (visa, mc, amex...).  Thanks, Jonathan

I have posted many modern and vintage decks on ebay... If there is any interest, I would be glad to pull any decks and sell direct if the price is right... Although I am not looking to trade at the moment, prices can be negotiable if I know the cards are going to a good home... Feel free to message me an offer if you are looking for any of these decks for your collection... Thanks, J.

A Cellar of Fine Vintages / What Is Your Dream Deck? (Vintage Preferred)
« on: November 09, 2012, 12:34:45 PM »
And one lucky winner is going to win my dream deck of playing cards without a joker... This is truly a deck that I have desired for quite a long time, but the price (for me) is astronomical and without a joker... Starting at the low bid of $699... http://www.ebay.com/itm/261124827896

Anyone else have a dream deck they've been looking for?

It's been a while, and I've been a bit busy, but am I missing something here?  Please let me know if I'm the only one who sees this as a completely ridiculous listing.... This was listed by Dealing Dueces as a Rare & Vintage Cupid Back Deck of Cards with Wooden Box and is already up to $75?  It looks to me like the reprint from a few years ago by 52andJokers (I think) that you can still pickup for around $5.00... They re-wrapped it in cellophane and then put it in a wooden box and there are eight bids up to $75... Again, please let me know if I'm missing something, but it looks like a completely fraudulent listing... There was no such vintage deck of Cupid Backs ever printed in Gold... In fact the deck looks rather modern and so is everyone excited to pay $70+ for a wooden box???

Edit: Here's the listing http://www.ebay.com/itm/271079888796

Again, pardon me if I am incorrect, but aren't these the cards here at less than $4 per deck? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-DECKS-Bicycle-Cupid-Back-gold-playing-cards-/300464251523?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45f510a283

The Conversation Parlor / Someone Please Explain This...
« on: July 22, 2012, 12:29:09 AM »
Pardon me if this is not a playing card question, but I found this listed on the collector's playing cards website http://www.collectorsweekly.com/cards/playing-cards , and referenced the listing on eBay...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Egar-Fo-Tumahab-Paper-2-/150860946910?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2320035dde#ht_500wt_1413

Could someone in their right mind explain why this piece of paper is selling for $30 with ten bids on it... I am apparently very new with regard to this paper and I'm looking for an explanation... Thanks, J.

In addition, if you feel I am out of line with some of the pricing, feel free to let me know and maybe we could make a deal... Enjoy... I have started some auctions very, very low so anyone who wants can have a chance to win... Enjoy!!!

Playing Card Plethora / Question Regarding Selling Decks...
« on: June 20, 2012, 03:55:17 AM »
There's nothing officially for sale yet, so I guess this would be the right place to post this question...  Since we have such seasoned collectors who belong to this forum, I have a question for you all and would appreciate if you would answer... I will be selling off a portion of my collection (mainly newer, more modern decks)... I have noticed on eBay that people seem to be selling more than ever in groups - for example; 1 LTD, 1 Gold Arcane, 1 Charity Water... etc... I think that there is such an over saturation in the USPC collectible playing card market right now and that people are spending in abundance trying to pick up everything coming out that they may not have the funds to throw down for a large group of decks...

1. Do you feel that you enjoy purchasing more in groups rather than purchasing individual decks?
2. What do you all think, and are there any decks in particular that people want and are willing to pay decent $ for right now?

Thanks, J.

As the title states, I am looking to sell / trade these two sets of playing cards... I would be glad to entertain offers regarding sale price, but with regard to trading I am specifically looking for White Monarchs, Bicycle Americana, & Apocalypse 2012... As for pricing, the market is so crazy these days, but I believe the Olympic Decks are worth between $80 and $125 (I know I paid more last year for a set) and the Vintage Aviators are worth somewhere around $100 for the set... Don't let the numbers scare you... Let me know if you're interested and want to make a deal for $ / decks / or combination... Thanks, J.

I recently acquired these Rare Vintage Aviator Playing Cards as a set... They are Stamp Sealed, but with an extremely rare U.S. Playing Card Co. Stamp... It was explained to me (whether true or not, I have yet to verify) that following the taxation on playing cards, and before switching to a sticker style seal, these stamps were used to seal decks... I have never come across this style stamp before and I am offering these for sale or trade in the shop, but still thought that some of you may like to see some pics of these rare and unique decks... Enjoy...

A Cellar of Fine Vintages / Vintage Bicycle Playing Card Scorer
« on: June 02, 2012, 10:19:17 PM »
As previously stated, I found an incredible deal on a piece of Bicycle Playing Card advertising history that I've been searching for for a very long time... I initially thought this was a larger piece, but when I received it I then saw that it is actually the size of a standard playing card... I immediately had it framed and it is one of the Crown Jewels of my collection (not gloating  8)... This was handed out at hardware stores, drug stores, etc... with the store name stamped on the back in the early 1900s and was used to score card games... I fell in love with it over a year ago and was unable to secure a clean one at a reasonable price until the other day...  Please enjoy this piece of Playing Card History...

A Cellar of Fine Vintages / Apple Macintosh Playing Cards
« on: June 02, 2012, 01:57:23 AM »
On a happier note (happier than the White Monarch debacle)... I was able to finally secure a deck of playing cards that I've been looking for for over a year with no success until now... Fifteen year old Apple Macintosh Playing Cards... Having had Macs since the first 128K box right up till my current Lion, Macintosh has always held a place in my heart, and if you feel the same way and remember the icons from years past then maybe you will also feel good about these playing cards... Enjoy the pics...

A Cellar of Fine Vintages / Grand Opening Set
« on: May 04, 2012, 02:25:54 AM »
I have been blessed to know some very stand up people on this forum that see the value in making sure decks go to a collection where they will find a good home and not just making it about the $$$...  You know who you are and thank you... Not only do I appreciate these decks, but I will take good care of them... I have been looking for them for a very long time...

Playing Card Plethora / The Elusive Cupid Test Deck...
« on: April 24, 2012, 04:48:18 PM »
Thanks to a very honorable collector that frequents the posts, I have been able to secure another long sought after set of cards... The Bicycle Cupid Test Decks... Apparently the USPCC was considering changing the standard Bicycle box to the following design, but they apparently did not go through with the changes, making this an extremely rare find...  Just a note: I am considering letting go of the Jumbo Face Cupid Test Decks (both Red & Blue) if anyone is interested... PM me...

« on: April 24, 2012, 04:11:58 PM »
I finally secured a near mint Bicycle Ace of Spades Secret Weapon Deck complete with newspaper articles from the period... This has been a long time coming and will be a treasured deck in my collection...

The Second Deck is a Spotter Deck from the 40's used to train soldiers to spot whether an aircraft was friend or foe... Outlined in the decks are German, Japanese, British, & U.S. Planes... All have Bicycle Rider Backs...

A Cellar of Fine Vintages / Interesting Bee Deck
« on: April 05, 2012, 10:25:21 PM »
I just purchased this interesting Bee Deck... I think that it's cool and I'm looking for a blue one as well...

Edit:  I thought I'd post some pictures of a fantastic new Vintage Deck I just picked up... I was told the deck is from the early eighties and is a variation of the Standard Back... Cambric Bee... Love These Decks... Anyone interested - I have an extra one or two...

Check It out...

I know there's a lot of talk about magic here and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a Stars of Magic Book from 1975 Hardcover - Really Nice Condition - Outlines John Scarne, Dai Vernon, Bert Allerton, Leo Horowitz, Jarrow, Francis Carlyle, Slydini, Dr. Jacob Daley and Vernon on Leipzig, and Vernon on Malini... Cool Book I just have no need for it... I was thinking about $20 more or less... Open to discussion... Let me know... Thanks, J.Rock
