Although I break his chops a bit, It's not that bad a deal to pick up a White & Black Fan Back with the Red & Blue Deck Badges for $69 shipped to NY...  Sure as hell better than the $100 average going price on the White Fan Back all by itself... I'm down...

I was always torn about this deck... Nothing about it really spoke to me, but I always considered picking one up just to have... Not crazy about the backs, alterations to the cards, box, or even the lock seal... The fact that only 2k were produced and they're still available in abundance probably tells me I made the right choice...

Deck Reviews! / Re: tungstene deck review
« on: January 31, 2012, 11:37:28 AM »
Please do not take offense as this is not intended to insult, but my advice would be to watch some deck reviews on youtube.  Those that you feel are the best, do something similar but with your own spin... Make it your own...  Also you need to annunciate, I really couldn't hear much of what you were saying because you were mumbling.  This is a review, so any information regarding the deck would be nice as well.

Interesting note: No one ever seems to mention the QR Codes... I don't know if anyone with an open Tungstene has decoded all of the QR codes, but I would be very interested to know what all of the QR codes read (QR Codes are the small square codes that appear on all of the face cards directly in the center).  They can be read by a smartphone, and translate into information, or sayings... The back of the Tungstene Deck has 6 QR Codes, and the bottom of the deck has 1 QR Code... Please someone with an open deck decipher all of the codes... I'm sure they would prove interesting... Thanks, J.

Pokerstud52 seems to get inventory on newly released decks much faster than most anyone else... That being said, BMPokerworld, FullboatDealer, AceKing, & 1eyedjack are also very reputable dealers... They all have great deals and certain dealers may have better deals on items that other dealers don't have, most probably due to costs of decks depending on quantity ordered, or whether or not they were involved in the printing of a deck... There is one dealer that was previously mentioned that I would never do business with, but I was taught if I don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all... However, the Five dealers that I mentioned here seem to be some of the largest dealers of new decks in the card collecting community... There is also a vast array of smaller, more independent sellers that offer far more competitive prices (depending on the deck) and some that offer absolutely ridiculous prices (not ridiculous in a good sense)... All in all it really depends on how good you, the consumer, search, bid, and communicate with those selling decks and looking to trade for decks... Good hunting to all...

A Cellar of Fine Vintages / Re: Friar Club Playing Cards

These are indeed USPCC decks... As for their design -ehhh... As for their handling... I don't know, I keep my decks sealed... They were ordered by the Japanese and printed by the USPCC... There are other Friars clubs from around the U.S. that have used this design, as well as a casino or two, all of whom have had their decks printed by the USPCC, but these in particular were done without a design... They're certainly not my favorite, but I have a set in the collection... Be careful, because they bruise easily even through the cellophane due to their age...

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Bicycle Americana Deck

I can't tell you how excited I am about this deck.  More so than any other deck in recent history...  Keeping the bicycles on the Jokers is great and the Suicide King with the gun to his head is just fantastic!!!

I have one opened deck, and they have a unique ad card with Bee Company Information printed on the back... They certainly do not handle like magic or even air cushion finish... hahaha... but that is certainly not the reason to get this deck... I have four decks remaining for sale... You may very often see vintage cards, but usually they have a rectangular 1 cent or 10 cent stamp, or maybe a more rare square 1 cent stamp... Those are all from 1940 - 1965... These are 1920... They're awesome... Four decks remain if anybody wants them, let me know... Thanks, J.Rock

#CLOSED... Decks are no longer available... Thank you for your interest...

Thank you everyone... I know these are a stellar addition to your collection...  I have (1) Sealed Red Deck left for sale... Please PM me if you are interested...

Selling c.1920 Sealed Class A Tax Stamp - Vintage Bee Playing Cards Club Special No.92 - Back No.67 with Cambric Finish... These cards are brand new and have never been opened... Inside the cards are wrapped in wax paper... This deck was manufactured by the N.Y. Consolidated Card Co. which was owned by the USPCC at the time... I have one deck left @ $85 including shipping in the U.S.... These are in immaculate condition, given their age and once they are gone, they are gone... These are pre 1 cent stamps and pre 10 cent stamps; they are Class A Prohibition Era Stamps... People used to sit around during prohibition drinking their illegal alcohol playing with these very cards... An awesome piece of playing card history... PM if interested... Thank you...

Playing Card Plethora / Re: New Deck? - D&D Chinatown?
« on: January 18, 2012, 12:53:54 PM »
As usual, D&D... No information... No confirmation... Nothing but secrecy and mystery... If this is indeed a deck, it appears that they're pretty far along in the process, so why not be candid with everyone that purchases their decks and keeps their lights on and let the card collectors know what's going on?  I'm afraid that's too much to ask from the Bucks...
