Hey all my name is John Powell I'm a deck designer and collector from Salt Lake City.
I've previously designed the deck "Occults" by Gambler's Warehouse that was successfully funded earlier this year - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/207925240/bicycle-occults-playing-cards-deck?ref=nav_search
I've also designed the courts for the "Double Black" deck for Gambler's Warehouse as well https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/207925240/bicycle-double-black-limited-edition-playing-cards?ref=nav_search.

I'm currently working on a new deck I'd like to post here to get your opinions on and see what your thoughts are about it and cards in general as well as be on the lookout for great new decks to pick up for my own collection.

I've currently got around 50 decks or so and I try to support as many other custom decks as I can. Excited to be a part of the community and get to know you guys and hear your thoughts as well. Feel free to ask me anything I'm very open to input and making the best custom decks possible. Thanks guys!

Welcome to the forum John,
Nice work on the Occults. That's the one of there's I've backed.
Feel free to post some pics of your new project in the Design & Dev section. Plenty of members ready to give opinions.
Good luck with it.
Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.

Welcome to the forum, John!

You're among friends, so relax, take a load off and if you have questions, just ask.

I'm actually a fan of the Occults - I received one of each deck recently.  The courts were a bit unusual, but the artwork as a whole is top notch and the backs are things of beauty.  You used the same courts in the Double Black deck, right?

Cool thanks a ton for the welcome.
The double black courts were bought originally by Russell from Circle City Cards from me and he designed the deck I only designed the courts and the limited edition boxes.
Eddie from Gambler's contacted me as there was interest in doing a full color version of the deck as people had seen my original courts via my behance page and other places. So in all honesty I would have had no idea at all they were going to be produced as Russell never mentioned it to me and Eddie didn't know who I was. So its thanks to sharp eyed collectors like yourselves I even got to get them produced. I caught the bug though and I've started my second fully custom deck with Gamblers and hope to do a few more after that.
