EgorKlyuchnjk - I like your BackOfCard and Jokers.  So, it's a non-traditional theme.  I see some of the Queens have flowers, but not all of the Queens have flowers...

Playing Card Plethora / Re: 52+J Convention 2015 - SIX NEW DECKS
« on: October 27, 2015, 10:01:28 PM »
We loved meeting you too, Kevin and seeing your presentation along with the other 5. This will be a yearly event at the convention and we are hoping to feature even more decks next year.

ALSO

There will be a new club deck introduced each year - at the moment the plan is to do this for 8 more years making a 10 year series by established modern designers.

Stay tuned!

I love it.  It's already been cancelled.  I'm sure by year 10 this will turn out to be a Friends or a Seinfeld.  Modern designers can go on forever.  Who is making the next deck?  Randy or Alex?

So, Don is it USPC or USPCC. I see you like USPC.  I've always know it to be United States Playing Card Company.  EPCC, LPCC.  hmm MPC is new on the radar.  Why can't they be MPCC.   Maybe it's like Elephant Playing Card or EPC.  Names are getting weird.  How about KWPCC for Kings Wild or Texas Diamond Playing Card Company.

I liked the originals.  I even saved a few pics for reference.  It's a good deck. I like ppl who break the rules...

Erik - YOur KoH is good.  Maybe all the other hearts should be good.  Your cards seem unbalanced.  To many gremlins eating chicken after 12pm...

Design & Development / Re: Deck Numbering
« on: July 26, 2015, 06:49:52 PM »
Is there a history to the custom?

USPC has a history of doing this from the beginning.  It's all just model numbers, for tracking different types of cards.  They have separate numbers for the different card backs they've used.

In this post on Sprouts1115's deck project for making a 64-card deck with four suited jokers, I gave him a list of numbers currently or at least recently in use by USPC - there are many others in their history.  Here I've updated it with a few recently-used additions, some of which may no longer be in print.

7 - Streamline jumbo index
9 - Tally Ho (both backs)
11 - Streamline
21 - Streamline pinochle
44 - Bicycle Rider Back pinochle jumbo index
48 - Bicycle Rider Back pinochle
77 - Bee jumbo index
68 - Bee bridge sized (old number, no longer in use)
86 - Bicycle Rider Back bridge-sized
88 - Bicycle Rider Back jumbo index
88F - Bicycle Rider Back jumbo index Braille
92 - Bee (named after the year of initial release, 1892) (also used for modern bridge-sized decks)
125 - Bicycle Rider Back "EZ See Lo-Vision"
606 - Congress (all backs, standard index, bridge-sized)
807 - Bicycle Rider Back in "classic" box (AoS still labeled 808)
808 - Bicycle Rider Back in new "Standard" box
809 - Bicycle Mandolin Back
813 - Bicycle Maiden Back
914 - Aviator
917 - Aviator jumbo index
918 - Aviator pinochle
999 - Steamboat
1201 - Hoyle
1202 - Hoyle jumbo index
1205 - Maverick
1206 - Maverick jumbo index
1211 - Hoyle pinochle

Tigers were indeed 101, and there were the Army and Navy decks, which were number 303.  I know there's more out there.

On occasion, a manufacturer will chose a number for a specific reason.  For example, the original Legends release was numbered 852 (if memory serves) because it's the area code for Hong Kong, the city where the company is based.  And as mentioned above, the model number for Bee playing cards was the last two digits of the year it was released.

Don - I forgot to thank you for that post.  I settled on 80T.  Meaning, same as (A) = 1, (T) = 10.  The ten card is the only card to have 2 symbols for the rank of the card. "1" and "0".  And for some reason they have a hard time centering it below the suit index...

NgNash - I have to agree with Don.  This might be a another mountain for you, but you do seem to know marketing.  The goal is to make a film?  You have $8500 in pledges with a local printer who can also do gold gilded edges.  That is amazing.  Now if you were UUPC or Uusi, I might consider pledging.  It would not surprise me  if they came up with their own stock of paper.  That husband and wife team are known for there physical art in wooden card containers and gilded edges.  Why is UUPC being thrown around here so much?  >:(

Interesting deck.  Looks like a Switzerland deck.  King on a Horse, Queen on a throne. Ober with the suit indicator on the top.  Under with the suit indicator on the bottom. I like how the ten card is now a court card.  (9-2)  Notice the two extra cards on the bottom right.  Was that part of the BackOfCard? Maybe that was first triptych Jokers?

Very interesting deck.  Yes, this was a scandals deck.   Must protect the public by erasing part of this deck.  >:(   Is the Under of Spades squeezing her tit?  Maybe she was a seductive women.    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Femme_fatale Spades are evil...

darkmatter - Jumped in for 2 decks.  One to open and one to save.  What was your print run? 100 decks? Do you have a Facebook page?

2nd look.  This is a good art deck.  You have broke every damn rule and made it work.

#6 Every card needs a suit - The diamonds don't have a suit.  Brings up a good point.  He could have gotten rid of the club and just had black for the index. Black and no suit = Clubs   >:(

#7 The indices must be in the same spot and line up.  Opps!  >:(

#8 Roman numerals for the rank index on the pips - That is Tarot card stuff.  You are crazy >:(

darkmatter -  Love the bones.  It's neat how you can take an overly used theme like bones and make it work.

No suit indicator for the courts - The card need to be identifiable at a distance.  >:(
A border around the indices   >:(
The index suit is not the same size as the rank of the card - Especially bad, if you don't have a suit indicator.  >:(
The index suit is on the right  - Less cards in your hand   >:(
images on the cut border - A marked deck   >:(

You broke almost every rule.  It's a good art deck, but I have to say this is no playable deck.  Far from it.  Do you want people to use your cards?  If not, that is ok.  It can be collectable.

Don - What is the matter you don't like that 9?  It's the seven that really bothers me.  Major "1-sided"

darkmatter - So, basically the red rank of the card without the suit index is the diamond.  I see your logic.  Yes ,it seems you made a good art deck.  You can break any and all the rules.   I can't really bitch about anything.  Just know that your victorian art is good.  I like them bones.  If you tweaked your deck and made it playable, you would have many more customers.   You see, the cards must be identifiable up close and at a distance for it to be playable...  Good luck in August.

Very interesting deck. Love the art, but his fundamentals are wrong. The index is left to right not up and down like normal playing cards.  The goal is have as many playing cards in your hand as possible.  You decrease it.  Not good.   Also, you should not have images go into the cut border unless all of them do so in the same spot.  Don would say it's a marked deck and I have to agree...

You can't line the border with the Joker?  Yes, you can...

Levent - Your design is fine. YOu don't break any rules.  I like the way your suit indicator on your courts is custom.  I do have to say that is one strong female.  ;)

I like your BackOfCard.  The cut border could be a bit thinner.  A smaller white border is better.  You have a square for your corner badge in your fan.  I've been seeing to many damn circles lately. I see you're going with a dual mirror image with the text that reads right-side up. And the text is in the middle of the card and not seen in the fan.  Nice...

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Splash Deck - NEW Kickstarter Campaign
« on: April 09, 2015, 10:46:01 PM »
SplashCards - Better check your "Two card".  The font of "2" seems a bit small compared to the other number cards.  Seems like the easy fix to make your deck at least playable is to put a small white border around your cards.  If you looking for suggestions for your Back of Card.  It probably needs the same small white outer border since you don't know how cut border bleeds work.  Also use all 4 colors of your suits in a crazy pattern on your Back of Card.  Make sure its a mirrored image and please no text on the Back of Card.

44
The project is suspended.  We can celebrate until the next one pops up.

45
This is pretty scary Kickstarter.  I see some red flags.

46
I see an upside down spade with some text. A and X

47
Don't partially like borders around the indices.  It pushes the indices inward.  Also, his suit indicators are mostly gold.  The quick fix is to make the suit indicators more red if they are Hearts or Diamonds and more Black if Clubs or Spades.  If the cards are laid out on the table it's hard to know what the suit is especially if you have custom courts.  I like that he has a Red and Black Joker, but the "REKOJ" need to read "JOKER" from top to bottom.  This image might be a mistake?    Doesn't make any sense to put "Joker" in the top right corner.  on his Red Joker.
