Curt, a member of the Discourse staff team, has a birthday today. A lot of you guys don't see him posting as much as other people, so let's sum up in short just how awesome he is:
1. Before we put in our anti-spam counter measures, Curt was deleting countless spam threads a day. His hours of operation on the forums are when Victoria and I are asleep, which means no one can be around to put spammers in their place. Well, except Curt!
2. When we launched a few months ago, the boards were filled with ridiculous spam posts. One word replies and nonsensical, grammatically atrocious nonsense were commonplace. In part thanks to Curt's activism on the boards, we managed to get a different opinion on useless posts, to the point where members who contribute nothing consistently are kicked in the head by the community.
3. Very often I see threads in the wrong board, or repeated topics. Thanks to Curt, these topics are dealt with before I have a chance to do any work.
All in all, Curt, thank you for being such a great staff member, and we're all lucky to have you here. You certainly make my life easier, and the fact that I can spend less time each day moderating posts and more time designing products is in large part thanks to you.
Welcome to the end of your teenage years. I hope this year treats you well.
