We are now accepting applications from people interested in being the moderator of the "Introduce Yourself" board. The job is very simple, but also very important - you would be the welcoming neighborhood ambassador who knocks on the door of the home of the person who just moved in to make him or her feel welcome, so to speak.
Experience needed:
- Active member of the forum for at least two months, average of at least two posts a day.
- Mod experience elsewhere is a plus, though not mandatory.
Skills needed:
- Maturity, professionalism, responsibility and respect within the community. (There is no age requirement.)
- Good written English skills mandatory, other languages are a plus.
- Must have time to spend on the forum, approximately 30-60 minutes a day on average.
- A warm, outgoing personality with a minimum of shyness!
- Knowledge of BBCode commands a plus.
Job requirements:
- Find members forum-wide making their first posts and invite them to make a new topic on your board.
- Greet new members warmly and offer them any assistance they may need.
- Ask them polite, conversational questions with the intent of getting them to open up a little about themselves so we may know them better.
- Provide input and offer suggestions on the staff-only board. Keep internal company information confidential.
Benefits:
- The position is on a volunteer basis, so no cash pay. Sorry!
- Being an active part of an exciting, vibrant and growing community.
- Access to behind-the-scenes information!
- Have your input regarding the forum matter!
Please submit to me via PM no later than 03 May 2014, 04:00 UTC:
- Your given name and where you live (to be kept confidential; your location may be relevant mostly for the purposes of coordinating activity between staffers due to odd schedules, time zone differences, etc.)
- A list of relevant experience and skills - online and offline
- A brief, well-written paragraph on why you'd be the best person for the job.
- A sample of a message you would write to a new member as a greeting.
Thanks and good luck to all interested parties!
Cheers,
Don
