This series has most profound Chinese style so far. Even Chinese, not everyone can well explain these 2 animals and unfortunately I think the names, "Rosefinch" and "Black Warrior", are both poor translation that might mislead people.

@sxjy0109, do you really think "朱雀" means "Rosefinch"? Wasn't it "Phoenix" in ancient China? How could a little bird match the dragon and tiger

"玄武" is very very difficult to be expressed in other languages (even in Chinese it is hard), but obviously "Black Warrior" is far away from its original meaning.

I did a little search, and many seem to disagree with Phoenix. Despite the reliability of wiki, this is what showed up:

Personally I'm really disappointed in the Joker (and I'm pretty sure @digipunk would too).
Glad the court cards are customized, but I don't like how he put the suits again next to the pip.

I actually hope they're pink, it would change from all the red everywhere.

The court cards look beautiful, not exactly full custom but still a lot more than just a recoloration. I don't understand the scans though, I see an ace of spades that isn'T the same color as the rest...? $:-\$

hahhaa, my problem is I don't see the back of the cards. There are only box and faces. $:-\$

It should be the design on the back of the box. Also, if you look back to the first post by CBJ, it does seem like the case.
This needs to be confirmed though.

Thanks, I see now. And that's why the seller didn't scan the back... one way design. I have to reconsider this deck...

They're still very pretty though, I'd definitely want them in my collection regardless. I might not use them too much, but I would love to see them in person. They could be good inspiration for future projects, too.

Now it's the only reason that may convince me to get the deck. This is not the designers' first deck, I don't understand why it is one-way back again (the Bicycle Pirate deck is already one-way).

I just purchased a couple of these from the Ebay seller. I don't see myself using them very much, but I like the Chinese mythology background and the style fits well with it. If I was going to frame some single cards for their aesthetics, I think this deck's Ace of Spades would have to be in there.

Yeah I kind of like the design (it's grown on me) but I'm still unsure. I would love to see a good video review of this one. That way I could really get a good look at the cards and make up my mind on them. I'll be crossing my fingers for a review I guess
