It's like they understand what themes are mildly popular but they don't know how to make it anything but cheap and cheesy. I love zombies more than the next guy, but I haven't seen a deck to date that does the theme justice...
Kickstarter completely revolutionized the way I waste money.

I'd really love this deck - if I was nine years old, perhaps.

There's just way too many zombie decks out there now of widely varying quality.

Zombie decks are the new Cthulhu.

Not a fan of either.

I like zombies, heck I've been in several zombie movies, and not even I would buy these.
I like to call paper coatings a finish. It makes Don happy.

Zombie  Cthulhu ? Please! Add  steampunk? Pretty please?  Can you also use clip art and barbed wire? Cherries on top?

Hey Don, can we make this the official Discourse deck?? Can't think of a better way to celebrate the community...

In all seriouness though, has anyone kept a tally on all the Cthulhu, steampunk, zombie, etc., decks? I honestly want to know how many decks cover the same themes.

For some reason I cant see the post I could have sworn I made. I love your work paul, you are my favorite artist. But if you made a zombie deck I would not support it in any way. and I think USPCC is a little late to the zombie trend.
Do you guys even read this? Like I could have the meaning of life here and I doubt you would know it.

Kickstarter lists eight successful playing card projects.  This doesn't count non-standard decks for special "zombie" games, nor does it count the failed projects.

USPC lists three "homegrown" decks, all zombie-themed.  There are others that are fringe-zombie themed, but not quite - the Anne Stokes/Alchemy 1977 decks, the Skull deck, the Club Tattoo deck, etc.

Eleven and counting.  Have no idea what came before these eleven, if anything, that was zombie-themed.

I have to say I want to like the Zombie decks and this latest is the closest to something good I've seen from them yet but it's still not all right for me personally. I also want to like the Warrior Horse deck as well. While I like the color choice alright and like the design overall, I hate that the back is asymmetric. Isn't that like a classic cardinal rule? I'm new here so I don't know.

The general rule is that for a deck meant for serious card play or for magic, you want to use a two-way back - or at least a seemingly two-way back with a subtle, hard-to-find one-way marking.  But for non-serious play, pretty much anything goes.  The fact is that sometimes a one-way back looks nicer, or at least nice.

I know there are too many zombie decks out there, but given that there are so many examples of good, bad & badder ones...i thought USPC would at least make something a little more decent. This is...not. And i hope i don't offend any fans out here, but does the head in Ace of Diamonds remind anyone of Miley Cyrus?

Off topic a little, i just noticed they are selling Bicycle Brosmind on their site at $3.99. I almost bought it few months back for $10.00. I wonder why are they always selling decks "later" than others. Even the secret weapon and warrior horse deck was very late. I thought everything was made there???

Sure, it's made here, but they may be timing the release to coincide with retailers - they're careful with Wingra Direct to not provide serious competition to their retail partners.  It's why Microsoft never got into the computer-building business, letting other companies do that for them.  Smaller manufacturers would start wondering why they're competing with the guy they bought the operating system from and some would start looking for a new OS company.  USPC could have offered the decks you mentioned before anyone else, should they have chosen to do so, but the revenue streams provided from those retailers they'd be undercutting are more important than the profits from a smallish web retailer.
