So, I realized today that a few decks had snuck past my radar in terms of the big companies - I'm happy if a merz deck flies past, and you expect to not see every kickstarter or independent deck when you are on your own.  But this forum seems pretty tooled up and collabarative, so I wanted to compile a list here, and if I miss anything (which I will) if you write it below, I'll edit this post to include it and then we can strive for a comprehensive list from the main companies (I'll definitely need some help with TBC and D&D). For brevity, I'll only note the substantially different versions of decks (colours, impacts, etc) and let's ignore gaff decks for the time being.

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

  • Facebook:

I spent so much time writing this, I've been beaten to the punch by Lalita!  Drat and double drat!  :))

There's black Masters? Not that I'd really care, but  ::)

I believe he's referring to the Shadow Masters deck.

Ellusionist:
  • You missed the red Dealers, a rare deck release.
  • Vintage 1800s come in red and blue.
Theory11:
  • The "black" Monarchs are more of a navy blue, and you left out the Gold Monarchs deck, a limited release of 144.
  • Bicycle Titanium is presently in its second version - the first had an unembossed tuck box.
  • The Heritage series was a USPC release, not a T11 release, much like how they sell Bikes, Bees and Tally Ho as well.
  • T11 also made the design for the Bicycle Robocycle decks, blue and brown, and the copper Steampunks.
  • DeckOne Industrial Edition is on version two.  It now has a "pre-distressed" box.
  • T11 didn't produce Brown Wynns, either.  They were simply purchased from the casino, uncanceled, because they retired the color/pattern.
  • Guardians came in three versions.  First has the old T11 logo on the bottom.  Second has the new logo and a matte finish tuck.  Third was a USPC model, designed with French and English labels for direct sale in Canada - it didn't have a double backer, but it did have a card that described how to perform a simple trick.  The third one was made specifically for USPC to sell, in much the same way that the copper Steampunks and Robocycles were, but it was the most faithful to the original design of the lot (Robos were themselves an original design).
  • You missed the Archangels - another joint USPC/T11 deck.
  • It's worth noting that there are two or more printings of the Black Stingers and the Propaganda decks - the originals were made in Cincinnati, the new prints were done in Erlanger.
Big Blind Media:
  • Missing are Karnival Dose, Bicycle Karnival Dose Redux (the originals weren't Bicycle branded), Karnival Inferno, Bicycle Karnival Dead Eyes.
  • Of all their decks, these weren't Bicycle-branded: Karnival Hornets, Karnival Inferno, Discoverie, Karnival Dose.  The rest are.
  • Bicycle Karnival Dose Redux was unique in that it's the first time they changed the back of a design and the first time they released an unbranded deck's second edition as a Bicycle-branded deck.  Plus it came in a limited edition foil tuckcase that shines almost but not quite like a hologram.
  • Other decks that had foil-case second-edition limited releases were Bicycle Karnival Dead Eyes, Bicycle Carnival Assassins and Bicycle Karnival Midnight.
The rest should be quite easy to compile.  Use the Search feature and you'll find out topics on all of them.  TBC/HOPC should be easy, since the company's only been around for not quite three years.  In their early years, D&D only had the Smoke and Mirror decks - it wasn't until the introduction of the Fulton's Clip Joint that they started branching out into other product lines - and there's plenty enough information on the S&M decks that you should have any trouble getting caught up to present.

If this list is popular enough, maybe I'll make it part of the Annual Releases lists or something similar.

Would love to see it happen.

I would love a comprehensive release list, being relatively new, having this information in one spot would be great. As mentioned, if release dates could be included....even better. Great thread!  :D

Yeah that would be good - It helps the obsessive side of things; you can reference what you have and don't have. For me it is about design. It doesn't break my heart I don't have the foil Karnivals... The only one I got was the redux because it was a new design. But to some, I know, they would need every version of every deck of every subset.

Perhaps a bit later I will tackle the David Blaine decks (not that hard, it is just getting all of them).

I'm not so much one of those who want tp print out the list and just start buying at one end and work my way across, lol. For me it's more about the information. As Don mentioned, almost every deck has probably been addressed across the boards and while you can search for the info, it would be kind of cool to have a "Data Base" type llist of this stuff all in one spot.........but it is a lot of work.

Also, just an FYI, this list was compiled not to long ago in a thread.

I'll try to find that list! It is a lot of work to begin with... But then we've actually hit most of the big names, and once we have all of them I can just update it everytime there is a new release :)

The last one was a t11 release (printed by USPC obviously)

I obtained mine from a BJ's store a few months before T11 was selling it - it came in a boxed set.  T11 used more interesting packaging, but I don't believe it was a T11 release.  There was a Heritage Design set a year or so earlier (the second set) that wasn't T11 at all and matched the box styles of the third set.  I recall from the second set that it was USPC-made for exclusive release through BJ's, and I think that was the original intent with the second set.

The sweet part was that the boxed set sold for a fraction of T11's bagged set.  I think it was $12 or something.

Granted, I'm as human as the next collector and could be completely wrong or at least partially wrong, but I'm pretty sure that I'm not.

There are also two different Gold Arcane versions.  The first 500 were printed with a greener gold to the cards and tuck box.

There are also two different Gold Arcane versions.  The first 500 were printed with a greener gold to the cards and tuck box.

They all came from a single print run!  Regardless of whatever color tweaking may have taken place!

Can you show us some photos, 'cause I'd be curious to see that.

Your right about it being one print run but no, I don't have any pictures.  Jason B. Said they are all in circulation and can only tell the difference when the two color variations are right next to each other.

If this is indeed the case, it's probably due to some leftover ink in the press when they started the print run.  I'd imagine that if you swapped out blue and put in gold, some residual blue ink would be enough to make the gold have a greenish hue.

I'm not so sure that is the case.  I've seen a few instances where the gold was kinda green.  Even the new Gold Bee's that were just released had a few people saying they looked more green.

For the gold to look "kinda green", you add blue to it.  Metallic gold ink is a dark yellow shade.

Get a jar of "golden" deli mustard - the type that's a real dark yellow and have flecks of spices in them, not the "sunshine yellow" mustard.  Put a portion into a small measuring scoop and slowly add a drop of food coloring, mixing the two, then add extra drops as needed in the same manner.  It won't take long for your mustard to look greenish.  Alternately, you'll see the same change in a banana daiquiri if you slowly add drops of blue curaçao liqueur.  (That probably tastes good, too, as the curaçao is orange in flavor.)  With the daiquiri being a pale yellow, the curaçao will make it pale green.

It also works for paints and inks.  Take a dark yellow color such as gold, mix it with a skosh of blue, and you will get a greenish tint in the gold.  Whether it was in the press or elsewhere, somehow some blue ink got into the metallic gold to make that green-gold color.

You missed a few Blaine decks.

Series A had three "rainbow" decks, all rare.  You have the red deck, but you missed the UV blue deck (printed on UV-sensitive paper, glows under a UV light) and purple (an uneven shade of purple created by swapping the blue ink for red ink in mid-print run.

You also missed Series B: blue and red.

There were two extra decks made.  The White Lions Black Label deck (some refer to it as part of Series B, but technically it isn't) is a black-backed version of the Series B decks.  The White Lions "Stealth Cards" was a very rare pack, which I believe has about 38 cards in a full-sized box - this was a series of gaff cards for the red and blue White Lions of either series.  Those could only be obtained by the purchase of a rather expensive but very attractive leather-wrapped Porper Clip with his logo on the inside of the spine, in either brown or black.  The black model came with a bonus packet trick wallet.
