STANDARD TUCK CASE NOW AVAILABLE

Once the campaign ends, you will fill out a survey answering which tuck case you prefer : standard or prism.

You can also get both if you prefer.

Prism will be the kickstarter exclusive and the standard will be the ones you see for sale at magic shops (if that happens).

It's a simple yet "eye-catching" design, no pun intended.  I'd say keep it fairly traditional and market it as a magician's deck - it has great potential for such an application.  If you're interested, you can talk to me about a method for creating a marked version that's reasonably subtle and functional...

The marking does sound like a great idea  :D and as for traditional... Well we have somewhat completed the project and there's nothing traditional about it per say ;D

I let AV run wild with this one (micro managing a few things here and there) and overall, I'm content with how it looks. I'll post some more pictures soon

In the previous design, Ace of Diamonds has a large eye in the centre of a diamond - providing a definite association to the back design. Curious to see if you keep this (and what you do with the other Aces) :)

I like the frame (and straight corners) around the new back design - looking forward to seeing more!
*wave*

Thank you my friend :) We honored the original idea with the ace of diamond and will keep all other aces standard, to be honest with you.

LOVE everything about this deck. I haven't been able to afford decks in a while, but this deck will definitely be in my collection.

THAT ACE IS BREATHTAKING  ;D

Hola Amigos!

Some of you have heard of this campaign that got cancelled midway : http://www.playingcardforum.com/index.php?topic=8656.msg117941#msg117941

AV designed the original deck for a young man named Jonathan Pieper. Although the concept was brilliant in my opinion, I did notice a few flaws.

Good news is, Jonathan gave Adrian and I total control over the deck. It is ours to do whatever changes we want and launch it on Kickstarter by ourselves. For now I leave you the new and improved back design  :D

And don't worry, the court cards will not have faces of people you've never met  ::)

Thank you all for your input. I have read ALL your comments and for some reason thought I replied. I was wrong.

This is an idea AV and I had and are putting on the shelve for now.

In the mean time, check out my latest post on here about a deck we WILL be launching soon :)

Hello my friends from the playing card forum! Viva Mexico was a success and most decks have been delivered by now (a few internationals haven't seen theirs yet, soon though!)

I did disappear not because I got all big headed - I went trough a rough time and have very minimal internet access.

I'm back though, and have once again teamed up with AV to bring a new deck of cards. I always appreciate the support and honesty of this forum. Viva Mexico wouldn't have been possible without you all. So here I introduce a back design we have created. I will have more cards coming very soon.

Be as harsh as you need to be ;)

The phrase you're looking for here is "blank facer."  :))

No Don. Look at my 4th picture. It's a double backer but one of the backs is in white and gold instead of black and gold (yellow or whatever).

I forgot to mention earlier, I am 99% sure the reason for the sticker on the front of the box is this: Edo printed 500 stickers and hand signed them. He shipped those stickers to Alex for him to sign as well and then stick to the box. Shipping 500 stickers is much more affordable than shipping 500 decks back and forth, and the stickers could have been done way before the decks were printed and in the U.S.

Again, I love the final product. Theres always pros and cons with anything tho. Perfection is an illusion. What some hate, many love. What many love, some hate.

Received my Black Friday decks and wanted to review it here.

Box:
First off, no cellophane and no seal.
Matte black box
The front of the box (where it's signed)  is a "sticker" per say

Cards:
Diamond Finish by EPCC or LEGENDS
One "authenticity" card
One double backer (one side black the other side white)
No jokers
EPCC court cards with color modifications
Custom Ace of spades

Overall opinion:
At first I was dissapointed with the "sticker" being used as opposed to a printed box. Now I love it, gives it that handmade, unique feel.
I'm dissapointed this deck has no seal and no jokers. For $20 a deck I think we "unlocked that stretch goal" per say.
Quality is great, most of us are familiar with diamond finish (LPCC) or master (EPCC).
The deck felt rushed and could've been better.
Overall, I am happy with the product.
I give this deck 8/10.

I have a 2 available for purchase if interested.

I agree with you about the deck. It is pretty dumb in a way. And the back design is boring. I still haven't got mine in the mail so I'll be the judge of the final product. Will I use it often? No. Will it look good on my shelf? Maybe

Here's my 2 cents. I have my deck I perform shows with (Blue Monarchs). Throughout the week I always carry random decks and switch it up. So one day I'll grab Jetsetters, another I'll grab Soundboards, etc. This is one of those decks. I do collect but I also use my cards (not daily of course). Sometimes people will ask me questions about the cards: Where did I get them? How many different decks are there, etc. By the way the whole myth about people thinking you're using a trick deck if it's not a "familiar" deck is complete bull. I have never had a single person say that. I have heard it all the time when I use Rider Backs however (I think everyone here is smart enough to know this by now tho). Moving on. For this deck I would say, it's a limited edition deck you could only buy on Black Friday 2015, only 500 were made, and then educate them if they get more curious. Magic doesn't have to be about look at me doing all these tricks. Most of the time I'll do a trick and talk to someone after about card collecting, which may lead to what they collect, what they do for a living, and next thing you know you made a new friend. This is in a casual setting: at paid gigs I do chat for a few seconds but then move on to another table.

Interesting Don...

Yeah, it's a cool idea but nothing to go crazy over. You have to get matches from a matchbook or matchbox to strike them on another box. Haha

I remember a fellow designer having that matchbox idea...

I'm going to try teasing these two apart into different topics.  It got way out of hand.

Good call

It's so obvious these aren't recolors. I don't know why it's so hard to see that. However, I see no problem with recolors either. I love them. All the monarch recolors are great in my opinion (except for the green one).

I like recolors...

They honestly last me a long time. I just opened a new deck yesterday. I don't do a lot of card magic. I do mentalism (mnemonica and invisible deck to be more precise). So the cards don't go trough a lot of stress. I've had the same invisible monarch for over a year now, and the last Mnemonica monarch deck lasted me 4-5 months :)

I prefer the blues too. Can't get any now that they're $35-$40 a deck  :-[

A lot of Cardists prefect USPC. I will never understand why. I can't judge them tho, my favorite cards are the blue monarchs, not so much for the stock but for the design, color of red suits and court cards, and obviously the box. I use them every day and every show. All the other cards I just collect  ;D

I like how he doesn't even try anymore.

Here's the back design, here's one court card, here are some cases, and let's just do 15 days.

Oh and don't even bother bother going to the campaign, they all sold out in seconds.
