Jody Eklund has been honored with Diamond Award nominations before - and for good reason. This year, he's had a single release, but this was enough to sway the Diamond Awards Committee to grant him a double nomination. That release was Luminosity, a three-deck set of playing cards based on the stories of good and evil found in Norse mythology, complete with a storyline (!) written by Ricky Cassford. Eklund successfully captures this with a very elaborate, highly detailed deck design, combined with elegant matte-and-foil tuck boxes - they're a beauty to behold. Luminosity was released in three editions: Standard, Exclusive (for Kickstarter backers only) and Luxury; each edition has unique properties, with variations on the artwork and the "bells and whistles" details like copper gilding.
