Design & Development / Re: How Can I do this Without Being Sued?
« on: September 20, 2012, 08:27:39 PM »
How Old are you?

you actually know these names.
you don't want to make a "Rock 'N Roll" deck with Chris Brown or somebody from Nickleback in it !?!

I think it must be raining, because there are tears running down my nose.
there is hope for this next generation yet.

I've said it many times before, but Levi acts way older for his age than most people I know. The dude is going places. :P

Thank's guys, it means a lot to hear that from you guys. I say this everywhere I go, but classic rock (more so then current rock) is, and always will be the greatest genre of all time. I can't stand dubstep, and I hate 95% of all rap music, and I feel rock is a genre that everyone can relate to.

And Utterfool, if you like that, you will love my possible ideas for the rest of the court cards. While I know some of these aren't necessarily "rock" groups/artists, I feel they fit in quite well.

P.S I only wanted to choose people that could be recognized without explanation, that also had an influence in rock in general.

Kings:
Elvis Presley
Michael Jackson
Freddie Mercury
Gene Simmons
Mick Jagger
Curt Cobain
(Yes, I know I have six. i haven't decided which to use yet)

Queens:
Madonna
Janis Joplin
Joan Jett
Pat Benatar

Jacks:
Paul McCartney
John Lennon
George Harrison
Ringo Starr
-All in their Sgt. Pepper's outfits.

P.S. Nickleback would make an awesome joker  ;)
Just me here, but Classical music period is the best genre. Classical rock is good, but violins, cellos, pianos, and the like really make the best music.

I disagree with loldudex. I think it looks much better as a two-way back.

These will be unlimited. I emailed T11 about these and and Silver Monarchs and they replied both will constantly be stocked.

Hey guys,
I recently took part in the E deal because I wanted an LTD deck, and needed some stuff from E. But I already have a Black Ghost 1st Edition. So I'm looking to trade it. Preferably for a White Cent as they go for similar prices on Ebay. If you have anything else, feel free to PM me.

Cheers,
Tim

So.
Facts leading to Kentucky: Black Seal, box says "Erlanger Kentucky", colored joker, guarantee joker saying "Kentucky".
Facts leading to Ohio: Traditionnal faro, better handling.

They're simply Kentucky-made.  The joker tells you where.

I'm guessing they were made at some point near the end of '10 or later - that's when they worked out the kinks in the new factory and the quality is now higher than Ohio decks.

Check the four digits to the left of the letter code.  First two digits are the week of the year, next two digits are the last two digits of the year that the deck was made.

BTW: Air Cushion and Linoid are THE SAME, called by USPC internally "standard finish".  They weren't always but they are now.

I'd have to disagree about Erlanger being higher quality. I think the stock was much snappier from Ohio, as well as all the finishes being better. All my Kentucky decks have rougher edges than my Ohio decks too.

Design & Development / Basic questions for a Cardistry video.
« on: June 25, 2012, 09:34:32 AM »
Hey guys,
So I'm in the process of making my first ever Cardistry video. Bought a shiny new camera (instead of using my phone), and I have an idea of what I want it to be. But first, I have two questions.

#1: How do you guys feel about slower, smoother Cardistry videos that almost have a story as opposed to fast and disjointed videos of cards whizz ing around?

#2: How much editing is "To much"?

As am I Nathan. Also, I agree wholeheartedly about the design.

Yes, that's what I meant. Didn't think I had to be so specific.

Well, yes and no. Christianity stole it from a similar pagan symbol and associated it with the devil as to further slander paganism.

Actually, Pentacles ARE NOT Satanic. If anything, they are Christian. If you want to know more, feel free to PM me.

So I asked USPCC if it were true there were only two finishes, and they basically said "Yes, but the amount of finish sprayed on also makes a difference. For instance, Tally's have more finish than Bikes." hope that clears things up a little.

Yeah, that's how I've been faro-ing them. The Artifice may have just bed because they were old.

Yeah I'm fourteen. But I don't think my voice is annoyingly high-pitched. My humour is sophisticated enough to enjoy your avatar, and I don't talk in text language. Also, I don't think age matters as much as enthusiasm and finally finding a hobby that you can enjoy and share with others. Good day to you jmrock.

Two, traded one though for a Red Artifice and V5 S&M. Good deal to me, as I LOVE v5's.

Nathan: Four years. It may just be I was looking for a flaw in these decks because I'm not a fan of T11. They were actually good faro's. I just didn't want to buy more. :'(

BMP: Thanks!

yeah I've been trying on the lighting for a long time. I do know it is metallic gold ink on the backs as theory11 said it when they revealed them on exposé. Also, the day I get decks I do like a thirty minute long edge break-in. So it is just the deck. but I still like them! Thanks though, I'll be uploading a Tendril review later, and I filmed it in a different spot. Maybe tell me if it's better?

Well if you want a high-quality deck then there really is no substitute for the USPCC. They also have my personal favorite stock, Aristocrat. I like that it's thin and kind of bendy. Unlike Bee Casino which is very stiff. Also, Aristocrat is cheaper for you than Bee casino.
