Nice review, I really like how you can do such a perfect giant circle fan. And your reviews are short and to the point.

Keep up the good work!!
People say nothing's impossible, but I do nothing everyday.

Today I found something that reminded me of you. But don't worry I flushed and everything went back to normal.

Hey, DeckReview. One thing I was pleasantly surprised about by the copper steampunk was the handling. To me they have a very light and pleasant feel to them, very different from most decks I've handled. Does the silver handle the same way as the copper one?

They feel the same when they're broken in.

Out of the box, they did feel very different. The original one was super slippery out of the box whilst the silver was not.

And do you own the USPCC copper steampunk? How different does that one feel compared to either one of the two?

Thanks!

The deck came in three box colors: copper, brass and silver.

Copper was the original, released by Theory11.

Brass was a USPC printing of the same deck.  The backs were pretty much the same as copper, but the fronts were 100% USPC standard without the coloring tweaks that Theory11 put in the copper deck.  The jokers had the "US" index and the Ace of Spades had a alphanumeric date code, something you don't generally see on custom deck printings.  The box also had a USPC sticker seal and was not embossed, whereas the copper had no seal and was embossed.

Silver was a slight redesign which both T11 and USPC released around the same time and in identical versions.  A silvery-gray color scheme for the back, T11's colorings in the front, no seal, embossed box.

The entire run of all three decks was derided for being the least inspiring design and least steampunk-y steampunk deck on the market, with the brass version getting the most negative comments because of the totally standard faces.  I mean T11 isn't exactly known for being big on custom work, but at least they create attractive color schemes and nice boxes for their decks, something which the USPC copper deck lacked.

You stated you were missing the copper version - T11 sells the copper and silver versions.  Shopbicyclecards.com sells the silver and brass versions - that's Wingra Direct, an online retailer wholly owned by USPC for selling their products.  Wingra is also handling the 808 Club members-only shop.

If you're not sure whether the non-silver one you possess is brass or copper, the copper one was darker, embossed and had no deck seal.  The brass one has a gold USPC seal with a white border, is a lighter metallic shade and is not embossed.  If you look at the cards, you'll see the copper (T11) version has darker reds and the jokers don't have the "US" index that looks almost like a dollar sign.  The brass (USPC) version had a red closer to that of Bicycle Standard decks and had the "US" index on the jokers, as well as a date code on the Ace of Spades, which the T11 model doesn't have.  The first two digits indicate the week of manufacture and the next two indicate the year, and the letter following that, probably an "N" for 2011, is also a year indicator if you know the letter codes.  For more on the letter codes, look at the "Fact or Fiction" topic at the top of the PCP.
