Bicycle® Paisley - The Bicycle Paisley Playing Cards printed by United States Playing Cards Company on high quality Bicycle paper.

Paisley is the most traditional and beautiful of patterns. The roots of the instantly recognizable Paisley pattern design may surprise a lot of people. Resembling a twisted teardrop, the kidney-shaped paisley is of Iranian and Indian origin, but its western name derives from the town of Paisley, in West Scotland, a center for textiles where paisley designs were produced.

Wow these are pretty cool. I expected multi-color paisley, and this was a surprise. I'm in as well.

I was never a big fan of paisley, even when it was still fairly fashionable in the early '70s.

Regardless, I see one glaring issue with this deck - those courts are horrible for a deck like this.  Paisley is a once-commonly used fabric pattern.  But instead of traditional courts dressed in paisley, we get cut-up block letters?

Otherwise, it's actually a solid design, if you like paisley.

Well I am not a fan of paisley, but this feels more ornate/modern to me. I am happy they did not use 70's colours. I did not even realise that the court cards are a missed opportunity for traditional courts in paisley pattern till you pointed this out. I would like to see some number cards, very curious. I have invited the creator to join us here, so maybe we might see more of the deck. I like them.

I realized that I did not have a 2-way design for the back of the cards. This would have caused different looking back when cards would get shuffled. This has now been fixed and the back is a 4-way mirror image. The image has been updated.

Don't stop your feedback .... Thank you :)

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to drop a line and introduce myself. My name is Negin. I appreciate your feedback and support. As you can see I have already corrected the two-way back designs. I have recently posted a few number cards and will post more later on (in red). I am absorbing all the feedback and if it is a major revision recommendation, I will consider them for my next deck :)

Thanx again...

I'm glad to have you here, Negin.  While I'm not a fan of paisley, the design does appear to be growing on me, and the fact that you're willing to listen to suggestions is a good sign.

Please feel free to pop in here as you wish to discuss this or other deck projects with our members!  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers,

said number cards....

When asked about more color to the back design she said...

Hey Magic. I gave that idea of a red center a shot (multiple versions), but they all would take away something from the feel of the cards. I will keep the black X. Thank you again for you feedback.

When asked about a thinner border she said...

Quote
Thank you Bryan. I have considered thinner border, but it didn't have the look I was hoping for. I'll still play with the idea and let you guys know if go with a thinner border.

Now excuse me whilst I go and post this same reply at UC!  :D

Cards like double-backers and blank-facers are utility gaff cards for magicians.  I wouldn't consider it vitally important, unless you didn't have other options you were considering.  Ad cards would be worth considering, at least for one of the two extra cards.

I have a deck that has the backers names from the KS project on them, this is a small but meaningful way to say thanks to the backers. Maybe you could consider this for one of the cards? Maybe the first 250/500 backers? I think magicians will appreciate the double back cards.

I agree that magicians like double backers, but they'd be less inclined to use this deck.  I'd say take one card for Rose's backer list idea and the other for an ad card for your work.

Insure your backers want their names on the card.  Some will probably opt out for privacy reasons.

Thanx... I'll probably set up a survey to involve the backers. I have one setup now to see if I wanna change the border size. The link is in the comments on my KS project page

An idea I just had, if you did a DBer, then one side could be a card reveal - remove the center "flower" on one side and put in a 7 and a club graphic in there - it would work great for a snap change. (just a suggestion  ;) )

I hope more KS decks have a card like this, especially the ones less aimed at use by magicians at least.

Here is the image :) Thanx for all the feedback and support

I shall bring the look to you.

Quote
Important Vote: Possible New Court Cards

Thank you all so much for participating in the faith of the project. I received an overwhelming number of responses and comments just overnight. Based the the responses I would have to retain the existing design. I am truly thankful for your feedback. I apologize to the backers who like the new court cards better. But unfortunately I have to respect the majority's opinion. I hope you all understand and thanks again.
I like to call paper coatings a finish. It makes Don happy.
