Guys, please remember we're nominating PEOPLE for this category, not decks.  You can mention the deck(-s) he or she made in 2014, surely, but it's the artist that's getting the nomination.

I will nominate Stockholm17 for Requiem, Heretic and Card Launchers No. 17 Deck.

Their first deck, Requiem was Funded on Kickstarter the 10th of February 2014.

We are NOT going by date funded - we are going by date released, either by retailers or to backers.  If it was distributed in 2014, great.

Based on what Bama said, I take it Lorenzo and Stockholm17 are the same entities?  I know it's not always possible but try to give as complete a name or set of names as possible - and in the case of groups, we need the specific designer(-s) in the group that did the work, or the names of the members of the group if they all participated.  (In such cases, a group that worked on a deck together can be nominated as one.)

Yes, Lorenzo Gaggiotti. I second his nomination.

Seven Seas probably also qualifies as an Art Deck.

Thank you everyone for your nominations!!!
Just note if you pick 3-10 decks your first nomination will be the one that counts.
Also if the deck is yet to be released, the vote can only count if it is released in 2014.

I'm hoping that by some miracle Four Point Playing Cards (http://www.fourpointplayingcards.com/index.html) ships before the end of the year. I'd like to nominate Ben Vierck for best new designer if he can pull it off.

When is it expected to ship?

One thing a lot of smaller producers are going to need to keep their eyes on is USPC's schedule.  First the bigger companies hog up the schedule with their upcoming holiday releases, then the company shuts down for winter break in mid-December.  Some release schedules may end up more optimistic than realistic, and USPC has never been afraid of bumping smaller projects off the schedule when larger ones come around asking for a rush job.

Sometime next month. I think it will take a miracle to pull that off. Possible but only just. Fingers crossed, but I think it'll be next year before Four Points is in our hands.

Then there's always the 2015 Awards...  :))

Miracles do happen and Ben Vierck is going to start shipping decks of Four Point Playing Cards (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/798111038/four-point-playing-cards-uspcc-printed/posts/1075480) next week!

Since the deck is now eligible, Tuesday same thing, so is he. I get to nominate Ben Vierck for Best New Designer of 2014.

Nurul - Brendan's already been nominated AND seconded.  We'll see if Alvin gets his deck out in time.  Meanwhile, see if anyone's willing to second Alvin in advance.

I'll second Alvin in advance. We are talking about the Sishou designer right?

Alvin Cheung was unfortunately not eligible for this year's award - his deck will be printed in January.

Voting begins now and ends in 14 days.

hi all
thank you for the nominations :)

I was tempted to vote for myself haha

There's not a thing stopping you from doing so, if you wish.  If the US President can vote in his own election, why can't you vote on an award?

I abstain only out of a desire to be seen as impartial - I have too much behind-the-scenes access to the goings on.

No - but it allows me to say, "Yes, I have not taken favorites at any time during the drawing" without feeling a need to cross my fingers or something.  I can pass a lie detector test when lying (did it once before) but being honest is far simpler.

To use my previous example, yes, the President can vote in his own election - but no one gets to see who he voted for, right?

Despite this only being a contest for bragging rights, I want there to be no hint of impropriety in how it was handled.

I would vote for them all if I could, but for some reason that's just not an option. They're all the best. :)

Oh,wow!!!!
just saw this! :)

thank you for the nomination and the votes. Sorry if I am not that active on the forum. :)
I will keep on doing high quality things, working now on the 4th deck, but of course it´s a long way before it is ready.
Waiting for heretic fulfillment and no.17 campaign to be launched.

THANK YOU ALL!! :)
