Title: { Deck Review } -- Bicycle Gargoyle's by Lance T. Miller
Post by: john on November 06, 2011, 07:36:10 PM
Box: The box is extremely well designed with just enough extra bits of artwork without it being overkill. It has a gargoyle along with Lance's logo on the front on the box along with the words "Artist's Edition Bicycle Gargoyles," Artists Edition meaning it is coming from an artist and not a company and Bicycle Gargoyles meaning the name of the deck. *I hope you could have figured that out for yourself* The sides of the box it says,"Artwork by Lance T. Miller Made in USA" and on the reverse side it has the address of the USPCC. The top says, "Poker" with a standard black seal. Finally the bottom says has the USPCC copyright info.

Cards: There are 56 cards, 52 standard face cards, 2 almost exact jokers *one is slightly smaller then the other*, 1 information card about Lance and the Gargoyle deck, and 1 Gaff card. The face cards are standard USPCC face cards but have very VERY shiny metallic silver ink, along with black, the hearts and diamond are also silver but have standard red ink on the corner indices. The Ace of spades is lance's logo. The 2 jokers are gargoyles but are done in a less serious almost cartoony sense. The Gaff card is a 3 of spades with bloody scratches on both the face and the back.

Finish: While there is no mention of finish on the box it has the magic finish, which is currently the "best" USPCC has to offer.

Stock: The stock is standard bicycle. I am slightly disappointed with this because i am a fan of somewhat thick stocks. Also, becuase the stock is so thin doing lepaul spread and ruin the top and bottom card if you don't lepaul the deck perfectly.

Where to buy: You can get them from Lance himself @ Lancetmiller.com (http://Lancetmiller.com) where you can get a free signature. Lance only has 36 decks left, so if you want one signed by him you better hurry
Also at Bmpokerworld.com (http://Bmpokerworld.com)

If you buy from Lance tell him John Sobczyk sent you *that would be me!*

Pictures: *See below*

Amount printed: 2500 decks, 5 uncut sheets.

Price: Price is $10 a deck, that seems to be the normal on small print run decks like these, for the artwork you get and some fairly nice handling cards, it is a good deal.

Overall: 4/5 stars, they have a really nice design and a wonderful finish, if the stock was thicker it would without a doubt be 5/5.

You can't rate a deck with a number. I have never handled these cards, but I would like to.

I've done a review of this deck as well. It definitely ranks high for me, without question one of my top 5 decks!!

I must say, the idea of members voting decks is...awesome.

How have I not thought of this already?!

Do I sense a vote for the next Vortex in the future? 8)

I don't have any, but I think is just another deck, not the one I must buy.
Not because it's not beautiful. It is beautiful but it has no appeal to me.

I think these Gargoyles are stunning. I think all off Lances' work is great. The problems rest in the fact that I just can not get everydeck I see.
