I came across these as I was trying to find more info. on specific card terminology. I bet you never thought of a card at the microscopic level (well, unless you're pondering the air cushion magic).

Extremely cool. Always good to be reminded about engineering everywhere......

The SEM (scanning electron microscope) pictures are especially nice.
