Some of you know that I've been updating the board about new and recently-closed Kickstarter projects having to do with playing cards. This one managed to fly right under the radar - it didn't kick out on a search with the keywords "playing cards" because it was being marketed as a card game that coincidentally happens to be a a pack of playing cards as well!
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/trevorcram/woe-to-the-living-the-game-of-classic-pulp-horror-0?ref=usersEven if you have no interest in the game at all, the cards are really cool - the artwork is in the style of 1950s pulp-horror comic books! Even the card backs are cool!
The Kickstarter ENDED on March 16 - but don't despair!
I was in touch with designer Trevor Cram (
Send Message at KS here). He's STILL ACCEPTING BACKING using the rewards he offered on his project! Contact him and he'll give you instructions on paying him via PayPal and including you in the project as a backer.
He's using customplayingcards.com for this project - I know some of you are groaning and complaining already - but it's still a very cool deck and I love the art on this. If you like your playing cards both scary and pulpy without a single (coughKARNIVALcough) skull in sight, I'd get in touch with Trevor - sooner rather than later! I'm also trying to talking him into switching printers, if it's not too late - I suggested Brahma.
